This mall used to be such a pleasant place to escape to! I walked around in a basically dark, deserted place today. Most lights were turned off, yet the mall was open! Most stores are gone, and the VERY few left are pitiful. Most shoppers would have no reason to to to those stores that are left. Macy's is soon leaving. It won't be long before the rest of the stores and JC Penney decide to vacate. I can't imagine they are taking in much money anymore. Really, really sad. Dark, depressing and empty. The upper level food court is also completely gone. The owners have done nothing to keep this place up and running for the people of Flint. Shame on them.

The stores that are open are only open when they feel like operating apparently. Mall was supposed to be open until 8:00 PM, but MANY stores were closed down before that. Macy's looks like a Goodwill. Their carpet is extremely dirty and old and it's obviously not an issue to corporate- I'm sure they figure it'll close down sooner or later so why bother fixing anything in it? This mall being in this condition makes me so sad. I remember when every single store and food court slot was filled. Now it's a sad shell of a building. Building owners don't care about maintaining it- which is why every other month they're having a water issue. I'm sure this mall will be shutdown completely within the next 5-10 years and it'll just be another abandoned building in Flint.

My husband and I shop in Macy's a lot, and we've been shopping quite a bit lately in this particular corner of the store. It has everything from clothing (men's, women's, babies and kid's), perfume, jewelry and handbags to kid's toys, decor, candy, cosmetics, skincare, men's grooming, luggage, housewares and phone accessories and giftware.. and the prices are great. I like that the same store return policy and credit, Macy's points and star rewards still work (as they do in the regular Macy's.. The selection is great/ and clearance prices are crazy. I picked up some Aldo shoes for next to nothing and my husband and I picked up new Karl Lagerfeld luggage here this past spring that was cute and low priced..they also sell Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld handbags on occasion.... They only accepted a new with tags top I recently purchased for 30 dollars and some cute new boots that retailed for about 30 bucks. I was offered 5 dollars total for both. I took it and regret it. I spent more for gas to drive to this place. My stuff was way nicer than the items in the store. What a deflating experience.
