It would be great if people would post which Meijer they are talking about. I know they are going through a change at my store's layout here on Lake Lansing rd. Now it is like going into a Target, Walmart, Sam's club etc. I don't like the non friendly look but love the wider aisles. If you are disgusted, imagine how the people who work there feel. They have to listen to our disapproval and it's not them who made the change. It's corporate. If you have complaints, write corporate and let them know it's a trial for we who shop. Ask for a schematic of which isle holds what. A map could be a nice thing if they didn't change everything around day by day. Long experience short....the customers I have seen and I guess met have been very helpful. we are asking each other where to look for what we need as there are not many employees on the floor to tell us. The main store had virtually nothing on the chargers aisle, so I tried the gas station. The clerk pointed me where I asked and noticed me price shopping. He told me they had less expensive options right there at the counter. Nathaniel paid attention, offered another option, and it was spot on. I legit have gone here for a very long time. I hate giving bad reviews but tonight semi cut it. They have had coupons going on and this "$5 off a future order" We got the coupon out the slot and it gave us the paper and we left. I come back to redeem it with it in my purse and apparently it doesn't count somehow/I had to buy 2 more products (so what we did last time) to get the $5 off "A future order" (what we were supposed to have this time). This isn't even regarding the fact they took out the dressing rooms, changed the entire place and now everyone I know hates going there. They have made it completely un-shoppable at this point. If I could rate them lower I would. It is local to me; that gives them the 1/2 star. The store is frequently dirty and disorganized. The curbside is one long comedy of errors. It would be funny if it weren't happening to me. Poor customer service. Took over a week to respond to my email complaint, on hold by phone 10 minutes or more when I call. Not sure about these services in other Meijer's. But this one is BAD. read more

Where do I begin??? For starters, this place has no regard for cleanliness! The amigo (disabled grocery shopping cart) was disgustingly dirty! This was an atrocity! I had to sanitize the handles myself, and it still wouldn't get all the dirt off! The customer service is horrible at self checkout! No one helped me get my case of bottled water from my shopping cart, even though I was clearly struggling to handle them on my own... Meijer is the worst company to deal with!! I had a delivery to their warehouse in Lansing MI, of one pallet of Valentines Candy to them on a Friday. They said your delivery was not due till Monday? WHF after haggling over the day! I had to wait till Monday to off load my one pallet to Meijer's, well I lost thousands of dollars because of their hard headiness, but Meijer's did not care and according to them I was the problem, not them, even though they also wanted me to pay for unloading one pallet, I DID NOT, and they said I was not allowed back on their property, because of that, good for me, and I have never ever shopped at a Meijer's in my life, thank you. read more

The South end women's bathroom keeps getting worse and worse every time I've gone in there lately! One sink has literally been broken for months covered with plastic and just has black water or who knows what sitting in there. That can't be healthy or safe. Also one of toilets have been broken for a couple days it seems and there is water all over the floor in all of the stalls from it. I told the lady at the door and all she said to me was that management was aware. Ok but if there is water all over I can slip and fall. The least you can do is put a sign that says wet floor. read more

This is the worst pharmacy ever. I scheduled a covid test and I don't own a car and when I showed up for my test and they told me it was a drive through only, I asked if I can just walk through the drive through and do it. The entire pharmacy laughed at me and said I need a car. Imagine not being able to take a covid test because you don't have a car and then being laughed at. A couple days later I needed to get another covid test and I scheduled it and showed up on time just for them to tell me they can't find me in the system and that I need to go somewhere else. Didn't scan my voucher, didn't offer any other resources, no explanation. Meanwhile I'm sitting there with a voucher and a clearly scheduled appt. and they tell me nah we can't find it go somewhere else. These were time sensitive tests that I needed to take and for such a big corporation you would think these situations wouldn't happen or would at least be handled properly. I will not be shopping here or pick up any medication here ever again. read more

Is it possible to be in love with a grocery store? Because I think I fell in love with Meijer the first time I stepped inside. Similar to Iris S., I moved out of town to a state that does not have any Meijer stores. I truly went through withdrawal. I felt like I had gotten a divorce from my one true love. Meijer has been there for me through all of the tough times. He supplied me with tissue when my high school crushes broke my heart. He fed me when no other restaurant would do. He was there for me when I bought my first small appliance. He saw me off to college with all the things that I would ever need. Meijer you have it all. The total package! Now that I'm gone. The new check out system it terrible. The check out islands are tiny and dont hold anything, They also constantly get error code the attendant has to clear who is so busy clearing everyone elses you have to wait forever. Time to switch to Kroger!!! read more

Yesterday afternoon (6/23/20) we were kicked out of the Meijer bottle return. It was our 3rd trip there, we were not asked if we had gone over the $25 rule, not asked to see our return tickets or receipt to see how much we had returned or anything. We were the only 2 people in the entire bottle return area except the employee. There was no line, no one else returning, no nothing. Tammy (mgr over the area) is the one that told us to leave. I talked to Lucas (store mgr on duty today) again nothing but the $25 rule. All our bottles and cans have been bleach water rinsed, packaged neatly and stored. One bag I returned on the 2nd trip in only had 25 2 liter bottles in it. Another bag I was returning had 70 2 liter bottles in it. This does not violate the $25 rule. The bags we have packed the 2 liter bottles in is a 55 gallon drum liner bag so where it looks (and is) huge there are only 70 bottles in the bag. What is the justification on kicking us out? The bag with the 25 oz cans only holds 80 cans in it. All our bottles and cans have been counted. I understand the rule but I find this bad customer service. read more

I worked for 2 Meijer stores years ago. I left because the management was aweful. But this store is the BEST! The managers and staff had been perky and just so nice everytime I have come in. No matter what time of day. If Meijers ever has to shoot a new ad I recommend this store. The employees really smile and look happy. Which in retail is hard to find! read more

Say what you will, but if you finally move to a state that doesn't have Meijer, you will surely miss it. Living in Minneapolis for the last 3 years has made me long for my fall-out-the-door-at-any-hour-of-the-day, one-stop superstore. Even with the Target headquarters, no SuperTarget can compare in variety and price to Meijer. I cannot honestly think of any generic day-to-day item that Meijer does not carry. I am so over this store! They hardly ever have any cashiers open and when they do, they have no idea what they're doing. It's probably my fault for trying to buy irregular vegetables but if they offer them, they ought to expect to sell them! Things like shallots or beets are unheard of for the regular cashier on their floor, a phone call has to be made like everytime to confirm!!! Also they need to incorporate some of the smaller shopping carts like they do at the other Meijers/stores. But no they need em big because they know you will fill them up with more crap you just don't need. Hate this place. Their produce selection was not kept up to date, expired produce was bought by my friend and I to snack on. We ended up consuming a bit of rotten produce before realizing it tasted funny; because the stuff that they still had out had been a few days expired already. Busy customers should be able to place their utmost trust into the places that they shop without having to double check things beforehand. They have lost my trust as a grocery center. read more

Ever since they installed no limit self check, the line at checkout has been ridiculously long during normal business hours. I get it, the company can save labor cost by automating checkout, not paying employees' medical insurance, FICA, etc. Meijer is making the same mistake that big three automakers had made. They assume customers will buy their products, thus saving cost means more profit. Wrong. Customers have other choices. I stopped shopping at meijer. Rather drive extra miles and pay a little more for grocery than waiting at checkout line doing the job that their employees should do, scanning and bagging grocery. read more

I'm giving 1 star not because I dislike Meijer. I love Meijer and have been shopping there since I was a child. But EVERYTIME I have to use the bathrooms here I cringe. They are ALWAYS dirty. There is always pee/water issue on the floor especially in the handicapped stall. On top of that today the floor was extremely littered with shredded toilet paper and toilet seat covers. Don't you ever clean your bathrooms? Seriously I am not exaggerating ....it is disgusting. I use to work at Meijer at the one on west sag. I loved it i loved my job the people i worked with. I worked in the café when we had one, then went to the bakery. I worked as cake decorator, donut maker, yes when we use to do the donuts and breads from scratch. My boss then Mary Pennington told me I'd be a true donut maker when i got burned. One day i did and i was so happy to be a donut maker. I use to make breads from scratch too. I use to do donuts n breads like they do now, then in 2008 -2010 i worked in the deli. I even did stock overnite. I left in Feb of 2010 to retire. I moved to Louisiana. In Houma. Its down in bayou, no we don't have alligators in our back yard. We also don't have my Meijer store. But we have everything else that is in Lansing. I live like 1/2 city block from one of our Walmart stores. I miss my Meijer, i miss my friends, but I'm not coming back.
