I honestly really like going to meijer. They have items I can't find elsewhere. The employees are always helpful and friendly when we go. The store was clean and well lit& they were stocking items as we shopped. One of the things that caught my eye was the produce department. They have fruits I've never even heard of. I love lychee and they have it. I did end up with a prickly pear which I've heard of but never had. Meijer is the only place I can find turkey sweet Italian sausage without spending an arm and a leg. They also had the unsweetened organic banana milk I was looking for. The bakery is actually nicer then other grocery stores and the cakes looked really good. What caught me up was the donut case which is definitely nicer then others. You can find everything from home goods to pet supplies, clothing and everything else in between including a pharmacy . They also like kroger do the rewards card program. I got red and green bell peppers today for a 1.00 a piece can't complain about that. Its also the only grocery store I can find the dark chocolate milky way. They were 7 for 7 today. read more

Two days before Christmas ... Only 2 live check out lines with 7-8 people piled in each line. Self checkout lines were full too. Carts piled high with groceries and Christmas items to buy. I feel if I'm spending a couple hundred dollars from the store they should have more checkout lanes open. Too many items for me to self checkout. As far as having specific items I needed, it was great, but the checkout could improve greatly. Merry Christmas! read more

Huge supermarket which was a fabulous stop to use their restroom (clean!) and then pick up some snacks for the road. The store was pretty well stocked and I had no trouble finding what I wanted and the prices were decent. Hilariously, the woman in front of me was shoplifting. As she went through the door, the alarm went off. She dropped a few things, jogged out to her car (parked in a handicapped spot) and they zipped off. I pay more here to not have to shop at Walmart. Things I need are almost always in stock. If you pay attention to coupons, reward points, and sales (meat department has great sales) you'll save a lot. Employees are always friendly and mostly helpful. Produce is ok enough for me. I love this store!!! They have everything from fresh produce and meats to clothing, home goods, kitchen goods, and the pharmacy area is fully stocked with health items, beauty, and toiletry items! Books, cards and party items, flowers.. too much to list actually. They also have a nice sized international grocery section. I miss shopping here as they aren't in the area I now live in. What a shame - this is a one stop mega market for practically anything you could possibly need or want. read more

I ran across a few sales on athletic shoes and dumbbells and visited Meijer to take advantage of the discounts. I used to have a gym membership, but found that during quarantine many people had begun to create their own fitness room at home. Since I was late to the game, i found that dumbbells were always out-of-stock. I checked weekly at my local store and eventually was able to complete my collection. read more

This Meijer is kind of crazy with things and I write crazy because it does well in some areas and drops off in others. I go to it because it is nearer to where I live, but it is just a different shopping experience. For instance, they have sales and I have started to see these kind of sales pop up over the last few years. The sales are as follows: they will have an item priced at $2.99, but they will state that if you buy 5, you will get those 5 at like $2.00 each. But unlike sales most people will be familiar with, say Kroger, you cannot buy less than it or else the sale does not go through. They also have issues with product sell out. If a new product sells out, they will not have it readily available. I have seen this with chips and certain types of candy (particularly a Ghirardelli holiday mix that I cannot even find on Ghirardelli's own website and these new Carolina Reaper Cheetos). Once they sell out, good luck! Stock up while you can. But weirdly enough, they have a crap load of regular Flamin' Hot Cheetos that are just sitting on the shelf for who knows how long! One would think to stop ordering those and order more of the stuff that sells out fast right? It is a good business model for the store, but bad customer service for the customer. read more

I don't come to this Meijer as much as I would like to; but I do love the shopping experience it gives me. Meijer is like a Wal-Mart: a little more expensive in some items yet they are well made. It's also like Kroger: much cheaper but each equivalent to the other. I always find something I need here. Haha. Ok more like want. Regardless, their produce is ALWAYS fresh and very rarely do I have any produce that rottens quickly. If I lived closer to this area, I would definitely come here more often. I have been shopping at this meijer as both a customer & a shipt shopper for others for about a year. I'm very familiar with where everything is in grocery and I'm familiar with several employees. The customer service has always been wonderful. The produce is fresh as well as has an abundant selection. The meat department always has great sales. There are rarely things out of stock, at least what I am shopping for. The prices to me are a little steep compared to Walmart or Aldi but it's worth it because of quality. I shop here as often as I can afford to. I never been to a meijer before last year and after my first time I was definitely hooked. It's like a mishmash of all the good stores in one. read more

I like this location a lot better than the one on Meijer Way. The produce department is awesome- bursting with colors, freshness, and varieties. We were there on 9/24/23 and bypassed the self check out. Demetrio was our cashier. We could tell he enjoyed his job- smiling, talking to his customers, and was so helpful. This mega store was right next to a charging station. The supercharger is on the garden center side, at first I thought it was a Home Depot kind of a store. When we came in to use the bathroom, it was almost as nice as a super Target. After the bathroom break, we grabbed fruits, snacks and bottles of tea tree shampoo and conditioner. Explored the garden center for a few minutes. Good selection of resin planters. Tempted to buy a few concrete looking pots but didn't have the trunk space for it. Would have come in earlier if I knew the store was a one stop shop instead of a home improvement store. read more

This was my first visit to a Meijer. This was an Instacart trip. I was shopping with someone's list. Is it just me or is it a little darker than other stores? Trying to find specific items was easy to locate with signage that says its category (I.e. "Beef" "Pork") but trying to find specific cut was a little hard with the lower lights and no real directions but it was VERY clean and organized with good labels. There was even a cut that was discounted 20%, I think that it resembles of a "Managers special" at Kroger. I did have some difficulty finding some items but I feel I wasn't comfortable with the layout. I walked back and forth to find items with poor directions on the app (aisle number just product category) . Check out was ok, cashier didn't make or break my day. I did get trapped by the register deals and I got the Meijer brand Hand Sanitizing Spray and it was AMAZING! It smells GREAT and is better than gel hand sanitizers. (Pictured) read more

This is my "go to" big box store near me. It is cleaner than WalMart -and less expensive than Target or Kroger. I'm not sure that I need many more words than that. But I will... There is not great customer service here within the isles, but the deli and check out staff are usually good. The international food isle gives some good options that you would usually find on a specialty food store. US Bank has real people (branch) open later than bankers hours and an ATM inside the store. It has a small liquor store available by a separate eterance. read more

What has the world come to. First you have to ring yourself up bag your own groceries. NOW the will NOT break a 20 for you. So if you get cash back and need 2 tens you are out of luck. I was informed nope sorry corporate policy not allowed to touch the money. NO CHANG FOR YOU. Then they pointed to the bank. Go to the bank. Seriously This is the worst customer service ever. Meijer is the most convenient grocery store near me. They offer plenty of parking and it is relatively easy to get in and get out without much hassle. Overall, the store has always seemed clean to me and the employees I've interacted with are always friendly. I never do grocery shopping here. The layout of the Meijer just seems off to me. It just doesn't flow and I can never find anything. I swing by usually to grab something we have run out of. I've eaten at their deli during lunch one time prior and it was actually pretty good. The isles are big enough that it never feels chaotic even during busy times. I didn't know Meijers existed in Kentucky! With all the Krogers and Walmarts around, I had forgotten that I used to frequent Meijer a few years ago. But, driving around Hamburg and boom -- there's Meijer! We had to go. Just to see. And reminisce. It's the typical Meijer I know and remember. Deli, groceries, pharmacy, clothes (not a bad selection), pet supplies, home decor, dishes, hardware, electronics, and so forth. Meijer is a one-stop shop open 24 hours, pretty much every day. A little bit dim and dated but I think that's what I kind of like about Meijer, in some odd way. I want to give a shout out to the sweet employee that helped us a couple times on the evening after Thanksgiving. She was cheerful and helpful -- one of the best employees we encountered that day. This is my usual stop if I need to go to meijer. They have anything from make up to chicken wings to shoes. My favorite part is the produce selection at this meijer. I have found that the produce is fresh, diverse and usually at a good price. I have found star fruit, buddha hand, papaya, kiwano fruit, persimmons, as well as the basics like apples, oranges, lemon, limes, bananas and pineapple. The meat selection is hit or miss. They have a decent selection, but the prices can be higher than kroger. I don't like the seafood, it smells too fishy. (Fish that smells fishy is not good fish) There is also a decent selection of ethnic foods. So if curry, pad thai or bulgogi is your thing, you can find the flavors here. I do tend to wander through the clothing and shoes to see if there is anything I can't live without. I got a couple sandals on clearance for like $3 at the end of last season. I've been told that meijer does not do price matching and they have overhauled their coupon policies in the past couple years. read more

Meijer has some of the best produce in Lexington and the people that work there are pretty friendly and helpful. I must admit that I've been a big Kroger fan because it's right down the road from our house and Meijer is on the other side of town. But Kroger cannot even compare to the selection that Meijer has. If you download the Meijer app and spend $50 you will get a $10 coupon that comes off your bill and once you spend $100 (doesn't have to be in one trip) you will get an additional $5 coupon. I was treated rudely, aggressively so, by a stocker in the produce department for not wearing a mask. He violated my social distancing so I took a step back and he took a step forward to intimidate me. It was unbelievable. I told him, "I'm not able to wear a mask." That seemed to make him mad. He told me, "We can't have you contaminating the entire store!" I turned to leave in observance of their mask mandate and he yelled, "You WILL leave the store!" I was then accosted by the Masked Greeter as I was exiting the front door and told, "You need to wear a mask." On my way out of the store! I've shopped at this store for years and had been treated courteously until now. Something changed. Never again. Whoever changed their policy to aggressively enforce the strict mask mandate lost me as a customer forever. read more

This store must be very poorly managed. We use Meijer because it is supposed to be better than WalMart. Today had several problems. There were few available carts, the employees were very lethargic and disinterested, there were only two cashiers, pushing customers with overflowing carts into the express or self check out lanes causing major back ups. Conveniently located in the Hamburg area, Meijer is a one stop shop with many convenient features. They sell anything practically imaginable. My favorites are the deli, cheese, meat, and liquor selections. The weekly ads are a huge perk too. The prices on the sale items are usually so low that I stock up on several items every time that I go. One time I was dropping in just to grab Advil that were right beside of the pharmacy, I asked the clerk if I could check out there at the pharmacy and she rudely said "only if you have a prescription to pick up". Yikes, I won't try that again. Today I grabbed a lunch salad near the deli section, it was $5.49 per pound. When I got to my destination, I opened it and found out there wasn't any plasticware or dressing. I've bought packaged salads at many other groceries and those are always within the container. read more

The Meijer stores are really big, but always clean and uncluttered. Help is typical for one of the big box retailers although the employees always try to help you if you've managed to find one. Overall I rank Meijer at the top of my list for these types of stores. read more

What's great: It's not Wal-Mart. 'Nuff said. - For a humongous store, it has a nice atmosphere. Not as stylin' as Target, but Meijer is more a grocery than Target. It is big, but it is airy with fairly wide aisles, room to move around, and A TON of check-out lanes, both self-serve and full-serve. - I like the way the store is laid out although I do wish the beauty/toiletries were on the same side of the store as the groceries, but oh well. - Good produce. - Meijer store brand stuff is great. And they have a Premium brand, which is nice too. Also, they have a new Meijer organic brand, which is a little more expensive, but not insanely expensive. - Like most big box stores, they have it all: pharmacy, beauty, clothes, jewelry, shoes, electronics, photo, home, bakery, deli, etc. I should stipulate though that I am pretty much only a grocery, toiletries, vitamins and beauty shopper there. Good stuff: The greeters are actually nice and don't ask to see your receipt as you leave. And if you ask them where something is located, they will try to find out for you. - CRAZY DEALS. They have these wacko deals (look in the paper for their flier on Fri, Sat, Sun) like "buy one bag of shrimp and get two free." "Buy one package of steak and get one free." I used to go crazy with these deals with a former roommate, we'd be eating shrimp and steak and feeling on cool cuz we were doing it for cheap. I don't do that so much anymore, but it's great for families. - GAS. If you get a Meijer credit card (which I did), you get 5 cents a gallon off at their gas station out in front, which is already competitive. This is pretty much the only reason I got the card because I NEVER get store credit cards. But it has been worth it. (One thing that bugs me about the credit card, though: they send the bill only about 7 to 10 days before it's due. Once, I was running too close to pay it on time, so I had to go over to the store to pay it off.) - They have an ICEE machine at the front of the store. (OK, it's not the name brand, but they have the red cherry and the iced cola, which I love!) It's only a buck. - In a related note, their shopping carts have drink holders. How cool (and obnoxiously American) is that? - Their restrooms are not hidden in the back. They're at the front of the store. (Cleanliness varies at times.) - Oh, and as if I really need to say this, there is PLENTY OF PARKING! - I think they're open 24 hrs. What's lacking: - Quality film development. I still use film (not digital) and got it sent off to their Meijer film lab. It was horrible. Don't do it. Even a Meijer employee told me that they should not have stopped using Kodak processing. - Price accuracy. Whatever you do, don't leave the store without checking your receipt. Over the years, I have found a lot of mistakes where the sale price did not come up at the register. I always check my receipt and go to the Customer Service desk with any discrepancies. They always refund me the difference, but unlike some stores, they don't give you the item free for their messing up. I will admit that the frequency of this problem as decreased in the last six months or so. - Coolness. Meijer is a lot of things, but it's not cool. Target at least TRIES to be cool and occasionally succeeds. BUT... Meijer is STILL WAY COOLER than Wal-Mart! read more

In my experience in shopping, you are either a Walmart or a Meijer for the most part, unless you are an Earth Crunchy and do Whole Foods/Good Foods. When in the area, I am a Meijer shopper. Meijer is a store that is huge and filled with anything from food items to home decor. You can get hardware, toys, makeup, clothes, sporting goods, plants, you name it this place has it. They have a great open and logical layout. All the staff here seem to assist anyone when in need. They use to have a Meijer greeter working here by the pharmacy that no matter whether you were coming or going would say "Welcome to Meijerrrr". So loved going there just for that elderly man greeting me. I never knew his name, but instead referred to him as the Meijer man. He often smushed his words so tight and had a draw that it sounded like he said "Welcome tomarrow". Good times. They have a great deli counter and excellent french bread. They are located in Hamburg which has many ways in and out of here. I look for that when shopping especially around holidays. read more
