Came here a few weeks ago after a family trip and had totally spaced thinking I already wrote/posted a review. We came in to Meijer specifically for something my husband needed for the car and I decided to peruse the book section. I ended up grabbing the "Bluey Fruit Bat" book for my niece since I recently bought her a fruit bat plushie. I happened upon a Detroit Lions football display, which I looked through to see if there was anything my dad may like. We checked out quickly and the employees that assisted us were super helpful. Heather R. In the pharmacy was so rude. Went to the counter three times and they couldn't figure out how to run a special order. That wasn't the problem. I got on the phone to call the company offering the special only for her to continue to talk to me after I said " I can't hear on the phone and speak to both of you, please wait". Finally had to get off the call because she (Heather), wouldn't stop talking . I'm hard of hearing and that was just annoying. No apology . Poor customer service!! read more

I love shopping at Meijer for the convenience factor that they have everything. This location, however, has some serious flaws. First, getting in and out of the parking lot is a total nightmare. With just the one way in and out on 10 Mile it feels like you're driving into a crater. Yes, you can make the argument that there is the second entrance by the Taco Bell, but since you have to pass the Spectrum and the Assisted Living there is still quite a bit of back-up from that entrance. And although it's not their fault, its really frustrating that people cut through the parking lot from all over the place, so those of us that park further out are at risk of getting hit by the people cutting across instead of using the designated paths. Second, if you want produce don't shop here on Mondays. I like to do my shopping on Monday to prepare for the week, but the produce section is completely bare. It's possible that everyone shops on Sunday and wipes out the section, but otherwise it's just a poor delivery schedule. I've also seen a lot of already expired mushrooms, already moldy berries, and plenty of wilted veggies. The biggest saving grace of this location is the staff at the deli. Every time I've shopped for lunch meat and cheese at the deli here the staff has been so pleasant! They never make you feel like you are inconveniencing them, don't act annoyed when you are getting more than one thing, and they double check the thickness of the cuts they are making for you. I really appreciate the great service from them! Unfortunately this is the closest Meijer to my house, and the deli staff alone is not enough to make this my store of choice. When we first moved to the area 3 years ago, I would dread coming to this Meijer. I hated the layout & felt they didn't offer as much as my previous Meijer. However, since the remodel - I look forward to my shopping trips. The new cafe is awesome! Stir fry, ramen, pizza, sandwiches all made to order. Nice area to sit and eat near the produce. Phone charging stations available & many seating options. The new layout is 100x better than it was previously! They put a lot of thought and effort in to where things are located in the store. The pharmacy, clothes, baby item area all feel boutique. Nice flooring & display cases. I find things to be well organized in most the store - easy to find and signage to help. Starbucks, nails, Huntington - all available, too. All in all - I think Meijer did a great job with the reno and I am a proud patron of this store now. read more

I've never been on a trip to Meijer where they have everything I need in stock. I get that it's difficult to find people, so I understand. What's the most frustrating is that one of their employees has a job where they walk up to customer and try to sell them on the Meijer Credit Card. I'm not sure anyone goes to the grocery store looking to be approached by a Meijer employee that's sole job Is to sell you on signing up for a Meijer MasterCard. I'd much rather have an extra person stocking the empty shelves or checking people out to provide better customer service read more

Been going to this store for about 2 years always good service until 5/04/22. Usually go early mornings always a checker to check your items, yesterday went to check out at 7:45 no checkers open ask and was told have to do it myself. I am not employed by Meijers and will not do this. Next time I will leave my order and go somewhere else. I thought they were better than Walmart but beginning to wonder. read more

I'm tired of the meijers on 10 mile road. The dates on their food is way out of being over expired. I found bacon from 2021? In Feb.2021? Frozen tv dinners from last year. Lemonade that had expired 5 months before I bought it. Start checking the dates unless you want to eat something that can make you really sick. Poor job, meijers. read more

This meijer is horrible and notorious for false advertising. They purposely place expensive items near items that are on sale and only have the sale price on the racks. You end up wasting time going through lines only to find out that the items are not on sale. Be cautious about shopping here. read more

I came to meijer the night of November 5, 2020. I was trying to scan ganging baskets and I could not do it by myself, since I am missing my hand. This woman in the self checkout bout my age scanned them for me and loaded my groceries. She even opened my bags! Most meijer think I am trying to steal since I'm stalling or taking awhile. Meijer brings about so many mixed emotions & feelings!! Some positive, some negative! I believe in all things as humans, we have a mixture in life things are never so black and white! So, sadly, yes sometimes employees are not always going to approach a situation as professionally as they should! Most likely, they are upset at something else & take it out on the little customer because it is just easier, hence the 4 star system plus, I don't like how my first time working for them, they made me come in to work the same day I found out that my grandpa died! It was a very hard day for me! I tried not to let it show, but as a sensitive girl, I couldn't help but release tears! Luckily for me, I usually got understanding customers who felt more for me than anything and understood that I should be with family getting support & love and not behind a cash register greeting customers & pretending like I am just fine! Eventually, my direct manager said I could go home! That said, the majority of my experience, both as a cashier, 3rd shift stocker & as the customer has been positive, adventurous & exciting!! I have always been the kind of employee to get personal with those around me! I guess the old term, never mix business with pleasure was so foreign to me but that is probably a lot in part with the way I was raised! Everyone always somehow wanted to know my business & give me advice! I was just so accustomed to that and both my bosses & fellow employees at meijer always got extra friendly! It was like having a family away from home! My third job ever where I paid taxes, you know, besides baby sitting was Meijer in the Greenville area which is actually the birth place of Meijer as a whole!! When I worked, we didn't have customer registers where they could do it themselves, we had baggers(though mine got taken much of the time) and we didn't even have the rotating bag system! I think those are awesome inventions but I do miss the personal touch of old times! I always had an uplifting poem I would write for customer appreciation & I loved handing out suckers to the kids who would smile and be so excited taking the lollipop!! It was a proud moment for me & why I loved dealing in customer service and being one on one in my own little area where I would keep it neat and orderly!! I loved the music and songs that would play, especially in the Holidays & how bubbly people would be!! Needless to say, my personality brought many varied people into my life but that is the story of my life, in a nutshell! Well, only one! But, that's why I say, Meijer brings me many many emotions! I remember as a child always eager & excited to go grocery shopping with my mom! My brother would sit in the front & I would sit in the cart area where all the groceries were put or hang on the edge or walk beside it, holding onto it by my mom! If we were good and didn't beg for sweets, my mom would let us pick a snack at the register and of course, I proudly accepted when the cashier had suckers for us kids! Maybe subconsciously, that's why I continued the beautiful tradition when I was of age! Hmmm, such an interesting thought there! But, the best moments were always sitting on the horse Sandy who is still alive and well for the next generation of childhood or renting a video or two from the video store that was connected to Meijer! These days, children have Redbox. Meijer will always hold a special place in my heart! No matter if these days, in my adulthood, I even find their prices a little higher than I like to pay, those warm bubbly feelings somehow override my adult brain and I can't help but just be there, if nothing more than that euphoric memory of my youth, as I walk down memory lane and go back to my Yester Years, years that not so long ago, I knew as Life! I will forever treasure every moment I am so lucky to experience! And in them, I have learned & become the sweet girl I am today! So, thank you Meijer! So much to be given by something as simple as a job! But, you taught me much & gave me so much more than a paycheck! read more

Love the remodel. A little difficult finding things, but that's just a learning curve. A little disappointed that more new items weren't added to Grocery with the additional space. Still have to go to Forest Hills Foods for things like mini Breton crackers and really good quality meat and deli. Meijer, you can do a better job in deli. Biggest concern for Meijer - produce from the "stepped" shelves is going bad immediately at home. The green onions lasted two days, the cilantro lasted one day. If that problem continues, I'll have to start buying my produce at Forest Hills Foods. I'm a Meijer supporter. The family has done wonderful things for our community. Please don't let your quality fall. read more

Solid Meijer! Some smaller grocery options closer to town but nothing beats the options in a Meijer. I think I wondered around for about 1 hour wasting time and this location seemed organized, clean, although busy as expected. read more

Love this Meijer. Moved here from out of state and the Meijer back home wasn't nearly as nice as this one. The staff I encounter are always friendly, the store is super clean, prices are good and I always find what I am looking for. There are several other Meijers around my area but I make it a point to shop at this one. read more

Used to be such a lovely place to shop, but since remodeling I actually start getting mad while walking through this place because I can now never find what I'm looking for. I think this was the biggest mistake they could've made to their loyal previous customers. Also, as someone else mentioned, self check out is the worst. There's constant errors and you need to wait for assistance like 5 times. And getting assistance? Sometimes the staff just couldn't care less how long you're standing there. Also most of the staff is really really rude. They don't work that much from what I've seen, they stand in circles and talk and if you ask them for help they'll treat you like you're a huge inconvenience. read more

Just returned the Christmas Dinners - Ham and Turkey, they gave us a Spiral ham still in the original package and a Butterball Cooked Turkey still int the wrapper and partially frozen. meijer should be ashamed, nothing was cooked, bags of mashed potato's $100 for 2 fully cooked dinners is what we were told we would get instead there was at least 1 1/2 hours for the turkey. Took it back and we are eating Chinese takeout just like A Christmas Story. Merry Christmas Meijer you suck! read more

The Rockford Meijer store is revamping it's layout. All fine and well but the help is very busy, no doubt helping people find what they need in the chaos. I realize this is all temporary but plan on an extra half hour just to find your way around. My biggest complaint, by far, is the new location of the cosmetics/shampoos/toothpastes, etc., department. It seems to be some marketing ploy to get you to walk all the way to the other side of the store to buy things you normally pick up during the course of your trip. News flash Meijer! It's very inconvenient and I will not do it. That department should be located directly adjacent to the grocery department. I will buy the stuff I need at the dollar store (much cheaper anyway). The very last thing I want to do after getting groceries is traipse ALL THE WAY to the other side of the store to pick up a tube of toothpaste. You should fire the person who thinks this is a good idea. Ask a mom with a full shopping cart and two kids what she thinks about it. We are, after all, the people who shop there and our input should be considered. I, by the way, am a retiree with a disability. And, please, do not patronize us with the shtick that everything going on is a temporary situation. I have worked in retail and I, along with everyone else, knows it's a marketing ploy. Heard it all before. Fess up and admit this was a horrible idea and just fix it! And just for your information, if I have to go to the dollar store for toothpaste and shampoo, I may as well get my paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, laundry and cleaning supplies there, too. read more
