Newly built within the last two years, this meijer is exceptionally clean and organized. The staff are very friendly and don't seem bothered to interact with you and assist with any questions, which is a bonus. The fresh produce department was stocked and organized. The deli counter was friendly and kind fast to get the item I requested with a smile. The meat department was super organized and very well kept. The gentlemen who assisted me was the one in the photo of the department he was friendly, educational on giving advice for types of cuts for steak like differences between T-Bone , Porterhouse and chuck steaks. Very willing to help a customer with common questions with a wonderful outlook shout out to the meat that you can't beat.

I've come to this location 3 times in the past week after discovering the Flashfood app. Ayesha K in customer service has assisted me 2 of those 3 times, and she's a joy! She's always smiling and laughing with customers and just has great overall customer service skills. I had a quantity issue with one of my orders, and she resolved it quickly and made sure I, the customer, was well taken care of. I appreciate receiving service like that because it's hard to come by. Someone was at the counter speaking with a manager regarding an issue she had with a bakery item that potentially caused her to chip a tooth (yikes!), but while the manager was off researching the matter (or something) Ayesha and the customer were chit-chatting and laughing. That's how you know she's good at her job! On top of that, the items I've purchased have been of the top tier variety. I'm happy to keep returning to this store and using the Flashfood app to help reduce food waste and carbon emissions!

New Super center opened in May 2021. Located at the intersection of Spring Mill Road and State Road 32. This is the largest Meijer store I've shopped at thus far. It has some items not available at other locations. There's a Veterinary clinic inside. No Starbucks. Meijer Express gas station which provide 24-hour access to food and fuel, seven days a week. Everyone was friendly and you get greeted and asked if I needed assistance. I had a very pleasant shopping experience. I e would return again.

Spacious and only a few shoppers

I visited the newly opened Westfield Meijer today. Although the parking lot had quite a few cars it seemed pretty empty inside. I thought from the outside appearance the new store was similar in size to Carmel but it seemed much larger inside! Everything is spacious, clean and new. I did not see a Starbucks inside so keep that in mind. I shopped most sections of the store and the selection was great and everything was neat and clean. I stopped to get gas $2.66 before heading out - pretty good price for today and compared to Carmel.

Very 1st Meujer I have ever been to that has a place to sit your phone

I maybe go in Von Maur once a season, and it is even more noticeable at least to me, when you visit a store in longer intervals. They do have excellent eye-catching merch displays and still focused on upscale dressing and seemed like every section had a sales associate to help and areas were upkept. They are targeting heavily toward the older higher income demographics. It is especially telling when you listen to their choice of piano music in them. I would think a salesclerk would go a bit bonkers hearing taped renditions over and over of sickeningly sweet instrumental earworm inducing oldies all day long. I'm surprised this mall chain has lasted, as it hasn't really changed with the times. As times get ever more difficult with less to spend in this way, it will be interesting to see how this chain reacts.

The merchandise is high end, name brand. They carry men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes and a small section of seasonal household decor. Yesterday, I bought several gifts. The store was decorated with a pianist playing Christmas music. I found exactly what wanted and an associate carefully took the information for wrapping and sending. I saw several other things I wanted, including Christmas outfits for my granddaughters. I left without buying, but later in the day decided my girls needed those outfits. I called the store and Deidreana found the outfits and put them on hold until I got back over there. The outfits were even on sale. Returns/exchanges are easy. They put gift receipts in each package. The store is always immaculate and has lovely restrooms. There is plenty of parking around the store, although parking fills during the holiday shopping season. I recommend and will probably go back this week myself.

While I've always had a strange affection for Castleton Square, the truth is these closed-air malls are dying out in favor of mixed usage malls and open-air concepts. Fashion Mall is still around, of course, and Greenwood Park is still here even if it has done at least a modest renovation toward open-air. Washington Square? It might as well be dead. Lafayette Square? The same. Hamilton Town Center is pretty rocking, however, it largely is an open-air concept. Fashion Mall is great for luxury items and a food court vastly superior to Castleton. Both malls have movie theaters - while I love Landmark, I actually give the nod to AMC Castleton here. Castleton is still a Simon mall. It continues to have major spots vacant including the front of the mall spot recently vacated by Forever 21. This is an older mall that still has sporadic issues with violence, a fairly strong IMPD presence, and a woeful lack of major draw retailers. JC Penney is still here despite rumors of bankruptcy, though the store itself is so dirty you'll likely need a tetanus shot when you leave. Von Maur is fine. You've got Macy's with a Starbucks in it, though Cath Coffee is local and has a kiosk in the mall (the old Starbucks). The food court still has a Chick-fil-A, a Luca Pizza, and a handful of others. McAlister's still has a spot with an exterior entrance. It looks like a Mexican joint has taken the old Johnny Rocket's spot that has seen several other restaurants quickly fail. I'd recommend coming in from East 82nd Street as streets are smoother. East 86th Street is getting some attention (finally), but you'll still likely need an alignment from driving it (if you go to Costco or Saraga you know this). Parking is typically abysmal here. People argue over ADA spots (Seriously, I was yelled at today for moving too slowly to vacate one). There's a tension in the mall that seems palpable and I actually felt a sense of relief when I left. My favorite spots? The movie theater, of course. I do still like the McAlister's. I'm a fan of Earthbound Trading Company off the food court. I like FYE, Yankee Candle, and Spencer Gifts. There's a Native American goods shop that's pretty cool, as well. Four Seasons Florist is a nice spot and Grade A Tattoos has a place here. Boss Battle Games has a $15 entry and you can play all day. Lego still has a great and popular spot here. There's an exterior sign indicating Hobby Lobby is joining the mall soon - I think around the long vacant Sears spot. Accessibility is pretty decent here. Main doors are automatic. Accessible/ADA parking is plentiful (though frequently misused and nearly never enforced). The main accessible restrooms are near the food court. I'd still like to see this mall get a more practical retailer - Hobby Lobby may fill that need soon. I noticed today that there's almost an international marketplace vibe starting to happen here with a more diverse clientele and a few more indie shops noticed. Ultimately, I didn't really enjoy shopping here like I have in the past. I didn't hate it, but I didn't leave thinking "I can't wait to go back." Instead, I noticed the tension and I really felt like I'd much rather go to free-standing or open-air spots than be immersed in this tense, uncomfortable shopping experience. I'd probably go 2.5 if I could. I can't. 2 feels a little low and considering there's still some great shopping to be had here I'll stick with a 3-star rating with a slight disclaimer that Castleton Square sure seems like it's headed downhill.
