I recently checked out this Fresh Thyme Market after checking out of my hotel to see what this place offered. This store has an abundance of parking so it should be an issue trying to find a spot. It's a very quiet store and very easy to shop around and find what you need to find. Great selection of deals and I found the few Health Products that I was looking for my drive back. Great selection of fresh sushi especially on Thursdays. Self checkout works like a charm too so it's easy to get in and get out. read more

I've been coming here on on and off for many years, but lately it's become my regular grocery store. They've broadened their offerings over the years and it is now possible for me to get everything I need here vs in the past when I'd come here for produce and meat but need to go elsewhere for pantry items, condiments, etc. They have fewer choices of brands of each item than the huge supermarkets, but I have no issue with that as the choices are solid. They have a nice selection of local products and quality of everything is excellent. Prices are very reasonable and they seem to have held steady this year while prices at other stores have been increasing. I also bought some gorgeous hanging baskets here for $9; similar ones were $15-30 elsewhere. It's never crowded which makes for a nice relaxing shopping trip. read more

I don't understand how this place is open. I could get no help with questions on unmarked items without signs. Found six items expired, employees and store manager watching noticably as customers asked each other for help when employees weren't nearby, but visblibly watching our confusion when scanners were non operative. read more

I can't help but love a Fresh Thyme. It's a slightly more bougie version of a nice Kroger, and not as expensive and problematic as Whole Foods. This Fresh Thyme is smaller than some of the other FTs that I've visited in the area. The vitamin and supplement section is tiny compared to other locations. I think it's only relegated to two aisles. Luckily, I found what I was looking for, but if you're looking to get lost amid aisles of powders and potions, you'll need to go someplace else. Fresh Thyme has a decent selection of wine, which is nice. The produce is always fresh, and they have excellent prices and good sales. read more

I went to the gym and needed to pick up some groceries, so decided to stop in Fresh Thyme. This is a very nice grocery store, and quite different from Whole Foods Market and Kroger. Fresh Thyme is designed for the healthy lifestyle and people who want to do healthy eating. They have plenty of choices for healthy foods and the produce/fruit was very fresh. I picked up some tea and some fish for dinner that looked very good. I did the self checkout and it was not busy, so was able to check out with ease and be on my way. I especially liked the fact that the grocery store was clean and everything was easy to locate in the store. Fresh Thyme is excellent and the prices are fairly decent, so you will not go broke shopping at this store. It is worth the price and the time to spend grocery shopping at Fresh Thyme. Despite what the page says, this location does not welcome pets. It was a warm day, and I just stopped in to grab one item on the way home from taking my dog to the Vet. I intentionally looked to see if dogs were allowed. I walked straight in and to the Health supplements aisle to the right front of the store. Then directly to self-check. I didn't really encounter anyone else and my dog stayed right by my side the whole way. I was there less than 10 mins. As I walked out, I encountered an employee that said "ma'am get your dog". Mind you, she was to my left and my dog was on my right. My dog paid her no attention. I said excuse me? She said I'm scared of all dogs. I said oh I'm sorry about that and continued to walk to the exit. She called after me and told me to "get my dog out of the store". I could understand this reaction if my dog was acting up in any way, but she in fact, behaved perfectly. read more

A bit pricier than what I usually go for, but VERY pleased that I found some great food here for my "new" healthier choices. I really wanted to try the grass fed beef and WOW!!! I should have been doing this all along. I enjoy NOT having to feel pressured by the grocery crowds in the big box stores, and the varieties are a nice change of pace. This is where I shop every year on July 4 to get flowers for my Aunt's Birthday, so I feel at home here for this reason as well. Need some alternative food or nutrition options that the average grocery store does not have? Then Fresh Thyme is for you. It's like WF but more affordable in many cases. They do carry some national brands that you will find in the average grocery store too. Need organic? Check. Need hormone-free meats? Check. Like saving with coupons? Check. Download their app before you go. Need fresh-pressed juices? Check. They do have more locations than WF so they are more convenient with locations being on 3 sides of Indy. I am particularly fond of their honey-roasted peanut butter that you can create from a machine that grinds the peanuts into fresh peanut butter. The employees are also friendly and efficient in checking you out. Even with the pandemic, they have had a pretty well-stocked store when I have visited. I purchased my last batches of collagen powder from there because they had all varieties that I was in search of. Tip of the day: Be sure to check their sales ad for the week's deals. This location is one of the largest Fresh Thymes it seems - there seems to be a little more open floor space and wider aisles than some of the other stores. I really enjoy shopping Fresh Thyme. I love the crossover ad day - Wednesday - when the store honors sales from previous and current week. We particularly like their Applewood Smoked Bacon, their Salmon, and their Tuna Salad. On Thursday they run a special on Suishi - several varieties are $5.00. The staff is very friendly and the shelves and vases at this location are usually filled. I love Fresh Thyme's prices; I don't feel like I'm being price-gouged for access to fresh foods. There are also many organic options available, which is a plus. Fresh Thyme is a bit smaller than traditional grocery stores, so at times it can be difficult to find the exact fruit or veggie I'm seeking. I like that they have a wide selection of fresh juice - including local brands like simplicity. The selection in the bakery varies by the season and i've had everything from baquettes to croissants! I love Fresh Thyme! My main stop for all things groceries. I get whole foods type items without the steep price tag. Great deli and meat selection, although I am disappointed that they no longer carry fresh wild salmon. They're really good about taking rain checks a while after they're issued (I have a bad habit of forgetting about them) which is great! Staff is always super friendly and willing to help locate specific items and you never have to look around for someone too long. I have found a new grocery store I'm in love with! Don't be put off by the slightly gimmicky exterior with the barnyard decor. Step inside to a clean and bright farmers market style store that is larger than a Trader Joe's or Fresh Market but not as big as a Kroger or Market District, (by any means). Fresh Thyme has exploded in the Indianapolis market this year, opening several new locations all around town, with more on the way, according to a recent article in the Indianapolis Star. I've been to the one in Greenwood several times, so when this one opened, I decided to stop by and check it out. It's close to my office, so stopping by on my way home for something is much more convenient than going to other places. It's also near Trader Joe's, so if one doesn't have what I'm looking for, I can quickly stop in at the other spot. This store seems smaller than the one in Greenwood, and it's reversed in its layout. The produce section seems different to me, but that's probably just because I'm used to the other store. Enough about what this store isn't in terms of other locations.. let's chat about what it is. When a co-worker asked me to describe Fresh Thyme, I first said "It's like Trader Joe's without the huge wine and cheese section". After I think about it a little more, this isn't a fair statement. Trader Joe's carries their own brand for the most part whereas Fresh Thyme doesn't. After thinking about it for a few days, I think I would relate Fresh Thyme more to a Fresh Market, but without the hoity-toity prices. The prices here are reasonable, and that'll keep me coming back. This is one of my standard stores. Fresh Thyme prices on produce are good, especially with a sale. Thursday is a great time to go to Fresh Thyme because it is the day the sales overlap. So if apples were on sale last week and this week all produce is 25% off, you can double dip on sales. I do find that many of the non produce items that are not the store's brand can be found cheaper elsewhere. Still I am a FT fan. read more

The key word here is fresh. Fresh Thyme offers fresh foods. One of the biggest discussions around healthy eating is the cost, but I can honestly say Fresh Thyme has affordable produce! I feel that's the best deal in the whole store. It also pays to study the sale ads, as you will find sale prices on select items in higher priced categories. If you can shop on Thursday's, they give you their flyer sale pricing from both last week and the new week. Double the savings! The store size is what I consider medium, so the departments are a smaller selection, but they are big enough to have a salad bar and make to order sandwiches and pizza by the deli section. Let's talk meat for a minute and a single woman's life with no kids: I LOVE to cook. Cooking is therapeautic to me. It feels good to slice and dice and watch it all fold together and smells come together and then Voila: There's a meal prepared with love that tastes like maybe Heaven has special deliveries. Yes, I love to cook. Because of my love of cooking, I love grocery stores!! I do. I admit this and it might even be a problem. I love trying and finding new things, I love gathering up stuff for a meal, discovering stuff along the way and my favorite part is watching a bunch of items not-on-the-list, quickly slide up the conveyor belt towards my total spent! But the only way this works is if the grocery store is right. I can't just go to any grocery store and feel THIS. Some stores (walmart included) exhaust me before I get out of the car. But Fresh Thyme eXCITES me! Most times when you see me check in to this particular FT, I am on my lunch break, browsing and moving at a snail's pace for that evening's dinner. The meat is all the rave. They do great with sales and honor last week's sale every Thursday, in addition to the new week's sale. I kinda really love the heck out of the that meal plan! But back to this meat. The meat is inexpensive most times. There are great selections to choose from, great cuts to choose from and really awesome options if you are a single person, head of household who doesn't need the family size pack of hamburger in order to make spaghetti for one. That's me. And that's Fresh Thyme. And this is why our relationship is perfect. FT provides me with all the cuts of chicken my heart seeks, at a low price and just enough for me and tomorrow's leftovers. Their fresh section usually had pretty solid seafood and the salmon is often on sale. Then there are the fruits and veggies! Goodness.....someone loves me. Someone heard about my high levels of Snoot and decided to make this store for me. Their fruits & veggies are inexpensive, even the organic, and they look great. Of course you might find a potato with an extra eye or a onion that got punched in the gut, but for the most part, you will find yourself overwhelmed with good selections to choose from. You could almost close your eyes and just grab something, then look at your prize and start random hip gyrations to celebrate!!!! Red & Yellow peppers are cheap at FT ! Which for whatever reason, they aren't cheap nearly anywhere else. The frozen section has a lot of different ice cream, gelato and sorbet flavors and brands to choose from and then the personal section is out of this world! They have everything from organic lip balm and perfume to natural hair supplies, black soap and more....It smells good over there. It makes you happy. It makes you.....spend money!!!!! FT is sorta the gift and the curse in the sense of they lure you in with great prices for good selections and this frees up more money to spend. I've left the store with several packs of meat in my hand and spent under 20 bucks. When I say several, I don't mean a couple or few. I mean like 5 or 6 packs of meat, plus a couple other odds and ends and spent $20 bucks or less!!!! Where else would this happen???? I don't really mess w/the canned goods, but they do have an area that makes pizzas and sandwiches on the spot. I've had the flying pig sandwich twice. It's served on pretezel bread (which they sell as buns or small bites) and for less than 6 bucks, it's filling, there is enough for leftovers and it made me happy. Very happy! The self filling stations have everything from coffee to oatmeal to build your own trail mixes and then they have several areas where you can bottle up your own EVOO, Syrup, Oil, and more. I suddenly feel the need to leave my desk and take a stroll through their aisles but I won't today. But maybe YOU should for me!!!! I mean after all, it's a FIVE STAR grocery. The selections and prices of meats, fruits and veggies did it. Then the staff is always helpful, friendly and have yet to get looked at like someone is mad that they work there. That's a win. No chef walks into a grocery store ready for playtime, only to be greeted by side eyes and nasty looks from disgruntled employees. Again, Fresh Thyme is here for your needs. And mine too. I mother-effing love Fresh Thyme. Every time I shop at one, I feel like I'm robbing the store since everything is very affordable. I can spend $15 and have enough food for my singular self for one week, fresh produce and other things included. Some items are a bit more expensive than a normal grocery, but for the most part everything is reasonably priced [or cheaper!]. My favorite section is the salad bar. Normally its $7-8/lb which can equal ~2 salads, depending on how hungry you are. This location has fresh deli meats in the salad bar, as well as an olive bar, fresh fruit and soups to select from as well.. read more

Great for fresh produce and meats, but terrible for everything else. Don't purchase your dry or freezer goods here. For better prices, go across the street for those items. But for the meat and produce, I would absolutely suggest you make this your routine stop. read more

Ok, ok. Maybe I was a bit harsh on this place at the beginning. As I continue to shop here, I've come to truly appreciate their sales, produce, and spices. A breakdown of the loveliness: - loose spices, herbs and teas on a back end cap - fresh produce with lots of sales and specials - FINALLY a place that sells a large container of full-fat Fage Greek yogurt! I love this stuff! - loose coffee selection with daily samples - they have a great selection of natural health & beauty products, including my EO soaps. - affordable, loose, raw sugar that I love for my tea & coffee! - nice selection of ground turkey, chicken and tofu - two words: saltwater taffy. - Fresh honey, maple syrup, peanut butter and almond butter dispensers - little dining area in the front of the shop to have your snack from the salad bar or deli As you can see, there something for everyone. I heard about this opening but initially declined going because of the distance (but I ran an errand in the area and decided to go). I did not realize that there are two new grocery stores. I will probably be shopping at the 82nd St. location as it is closer. The sale prices got me. It was great that I could get 85% lean ground hamburger meat for $1.99 / lb. (as low as 2 # a package where most places require 3 # min. for a discount). Fruit and vegetable sales were good too. I like that I don't have to have a card to get great sale items. I plan to be visiting for their double sale ads on Thursdays. read more

Popped by here to pick up some Broad Ripple Chip Co. chips as a gift. I walked all over the store trying to find them, was greeted by an employee who tried to help, then eventually found them in the deli section (I walked right by them the first time!). Checkout was easy and quick, and I wasn't penalized since I didn't have a store card. If I lived in the area, I'd stop by more to check out their wares. It was hoppin' even midday. I ended up picking up some French pink lemonade soda for a friend and some guacamole seasoning packets. Woo! read more

I still like coming here for their bulk items & organic veggies. Like I said before, their service & all the staff are extremely friendly & helpful. -I mean exceptional. We all have bad days, but so many places have this dark cloud hanging over them because it's obvious the employees don't want to be there. (let's see, maybe like Walmart etc) My negative experience is with their meat items that I tried to purchase a few times. I bought their pumped with steroids chicken breasts one time against my better judgment. It was the worst I've ever had. It looked funny & when I cooked it, it became like rubber. We took one bite & thru it out. so gross Well, guess what. When my sister in law came down from Mich. she told me that they have one now too and she had the exact same experience. She had guests & they all thru it out. It's just turned me off to their meat. I can't even bring myself to buy the organic meat there anymore. I've tried to purchase seafood also but after I give it a smell, I won't buy it. (not afraid to ask to smell, don't you be) I will pu some of their frozen squid for calamari occasionally. -but I'll stick with Caplinger's because I know it's always fresh with no ammonia. This was my first time at this location, but it's very similar to the Clearwater location. Everything appeared well stocked. I was able to get all of the sale items that were advertised. The store was bright and clean. The staff was friendly as well. It wasn't nearly as crowded as I thought it would be on a Sunday morning. Not Wegmans...dammit ! I think I anticipated something this place is not.... Not impressed at all. Very poor selection of vegetables...organic section was as weak or weaker than most. Some of the produce should not have been on the shelves. Cheeses were pedestrian at best....really....cheeses with "artificial flavorings" ?? Fish and meat counter lacked diversity and the labeling was minimal. Where are the local/regional offerings ? Nice to have ground bison, elk, goat, etc. however. I could find very few fresh local items...in fact....I did not find any...although I was told they had some. Basically this is fits squarely in between TJs...and....Fresh Market...Whole foods. Soooo....I will continue to buy the things that the above do well....cheese and veggies at WFs....wasabi peas and charred corn at TJs....veggies and veal at FM....meats at Kincaids and Goose....Cheese at the Cheese store.....so on and so on. I go here to get fresh high quality produce and receive better customer service than other places and I expect and do pay more for it. They were selling strawberries on display that had white fuzz in the bottom of the container. 3 out of 4 I picked up were like this. 4th one the berries were over ripe going bad. I expect better than this from them. Asked someone in produce if he worked there, and he said to me, "What do you want." I let this pass and told him of the strawberries, and he really didn't give a ____. Maybe just having a bad day, but they really should not sell expiring products like every other store that is less expensive. read more

Does this area really need another grocery store? Probably not. Does this serve a need that wasn't served already? Not really. So why four stars? This place knows how to make a first impression. I was one of the idiots that showed up at the 7 a.m. grand opening. The line snaked well around the parking lot. I was very impressed that the actual owner of the Fresh Thyme chain was there and actually walked through the line welcoming people. The crowd was too insane, so I came back after work. There was a greeter offering the specials flyer and staff EVERYWHERE. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They pulled out all the sample stops. A few things we sampled: California roll, cheese fondue, krab meat (with real crab), crab cakes, lobster cakes, and vanilla gelato. They made sure to let you know if there was gluten, dairy, nuts, and any other possible allergens. I didn't really pay attention to their regular prices, but zeroed in on everything on sale. We picked up chicken breasts for less than $2 per lbs. I also brought home fresh sushi (the tuna smelled a tiny bit, so I skipped it, but the rest was great). If you want vegetarian, gluten free, or organic, you will find what you are looking for here. I cannot imagine doing ALL my shopping here, but this will be a great place to supplement or pop in for dinner fixings. They have a ton of fresh prepared food like cauliflower au gratin and meatloaf. read more

I agree with some other reviewers that this store does have a ton of junk food but so does Trader Joes and normal stores. So have the self control to walk on by and you will find good stuff. The produce section is pretty good (some over priced) but I really liked the frozen food section and the cereal section. I would not even really compare this to Trader Joes because you can actually get through the aisles here. Now if you are looking for cheap booze Trader Joes is you place. I drove from brownsburg which was worth it to me. It was clean and I will return. read more
