I used to trust Meineke in Harrison! I've had work done by them for years on several different cars. They are always friendly..... But recently I had front brakes in April and rear brakes in Dec replaced. But I still felt vibration when braking hard. Took the car back to Meineke and was told that I needed a new control arm and that they would put new pads on because I'm such a loyal customer. Also was asked if I wanted to pay over $1000.00 since they ordered the control arm from Kia. I told them that I won't pay until work is done. I took the car elsewhere to have a 2nd opinion. I did not need a control arm and that since there is still vibration- the brakes were probably not installed properly. I went back to Meineke because the brakes have a warranty. They checked again and said the brakes were good and when questioned about the control arm they said well, it's been replaced. We saw on car fax that it was replaced. They were not replaced - only inspected! They were trying to scam me out of over $1000.00! I will definitely not ever go back there!! read more

Took my truck in to get brakes changed out and had a knocking sound coming when I turned right which ended up being a broken sway bar. It's nice that they do a free inspection and take video and pictures to show you what is wrong with your vehicle which of course they'll try and make it sound like your car is on its last leg to try and get some extra money off of you....it's a mechanic shop. I dropped it off and they sent me the results of the inspection and wanted to charge me $2800 or something in that ballpark which my 12 year old truck I can sell it for cheaper than that...got it talked down to around $1300 and had some extra work done which I was being very passive and said okay to which I won't fault them for that. What I will fault them with however is that when I returned to pick up my truck I was told that everything was good and they test drove it and it was ready to go. I got in and put my truck in reverse and it would not idle...I thought maybe it was because I was on an incline or something who knows. I started driving down the street and my gas pedal was damn near to the floor to get my truck rolling in which I decided to give them a call that somethings not right. They got it fixed for free of course but my issue was that I was told it was test driven and good to go but how did you not notice something was up driving the truck for the bay to the parking spot. To me it seems the person doing the work either doesn't have a clue what they are doing or they were dishonest and tried to pass it off so they could get the next customer in. They admitted they replaced the valve cover, and upon taking it to a different place for diagnosis they told me the valve cover failed. I caught them in a lie. I have had 2 experiences with moderately intense repairs here, and they are GREAT. The technicians know what they are doing. They are great about getting you in asap. The manager and staff are kind, caring, and will tell you if additional work is recommended, but NO PRESSURE to have it done. Avoid this location at all cost. Had an oil change and two days later the check engine light came on. Dealer diagnosed paper oil filter material clogging oil lines to sensors. Owner refused to even go to dealer to see. He refused any responsibility. Very expensive repair. I am very angry. Do not take your vehicle there. I am considering legal recourse. Better Business Bureau gives them an F. They no longer are accredited by them. read more

Yeah do not go here I read the google reviews and they were so amazing I didn't even take the yelp reviews into consideration and don't make the mistake I made they wanted to charge me $4000 for a water pump replacement if you don't mind spending an outrageous price to fix your car then go here they looked at my car and diagnosed the problem within an hour of bringing my car there but the prices are outrageous so keep that in mind if you need to take your car somewhere to find the problem this is your place they will do it fast and efficient but do not get it fixed there because it will cost you an arm and a leg read more

I had my spark plugs replaced at this location. They used poor quality plugs that made the ignition coil fail. I was stranded on the side of the road and had to have my vehicle towed. When I asked to be reimbursed or the plugs and labor, I was told "there is nothing I can do for you" by the owner Kyle. It cost us a fortune to fix their mistake and I am absolutely disgusted. Do NOT go here, especially if you are a woman. Went in because my check engine light was on, they told me it was the catalytic converter. No prior issues, just check engine light. I got it fixed. Felt as if they were going to fix the problem before bigger problems happened. I was WRONG. My car smells like sulfur and gas, my engine performance is sluggish and my car is LOUD. went back in due to the smell and the loudness of the car and they told me it was a manifold gasket that was cracked. Mind you, this was not mentioned AT ALL until I brought up the smell and noises. They told me it would be another 1000 to replace. Then a few days later the check engine came on and it was the o2 sensor that they reassured me WASNT THE PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING..They are rude, and "all we can do is look but nothing else we can do" type of attitude. Will never go here again, my car is DESTROYED.. It smells terrible and runs terrible and I'm out 1600 for a "problem" I don't think was ever there! I believe the sensor needed change from the get and it just didn't benefit their pockets enough! They also refused to give me pictures of the original catalytic converter so I can take it to somebody else!! Suspicious!!! Feel strongly that we were overcharged and taken advantage of. The starter went out in our Toyota Rav4 and left us stranded 40 miles away from home on a Saturday afternoon. We had the vehicle towed to Meineke and were charged $817 for a repair that took a little more than an hour. From the research I have done online, the average cost of completing this job is at least $300 to $400 less than what we paid. If the price had been more reasonable, I would probably have given this place 5 stars. As it stands, I grudgingly give them 2 stars for getting the job done done quickly, being polite and pleasant, and for getting us back on the road. We had already paid $100 to have the car towed in, and taking it somewhere else was not much of an option. It was an unfortunate situation for us, and our misfortune was used against us financially in my opinion. I recommend you avoid this place if you possibly can. read more

Beware when going to this Meineke location. Owner does not honor coupons that are sent to you. He will use some excuse that it is a miss print. I have had this happened to me three times now I will no longer do business with this location. And I would never recommend them for anything ever. When I made the appointment and told him I had a coupon and what the coupon amount was for I was not told at that time that they would not honor the coupon I was told to just bring it with me. I wasted my valuable time when all they had to do was say that the coupon would not be honored in the first place. Bad bad customer service in my opinion. read more

My 2008 Ford F-150 truck was in to get the heat shield fixed and because the guys that worked on it cared they found that the motor mount was shot and replaced it without much delay!! I was getting ready to drive it to New Hampshire and if they hadn't seen that.......I would have been in a major mess I'm sure. I was so thankful they looked my truck over thoroughly and reassured me my truck was good for the trip!! The trip was successful and it still runs awesome!! Thanks Meineke!! Keep up the good work.
