My Earlier Review: Co-owners, Ali & Cindy opened up this location shortly after the pandemic. The rooms are spacious and always have soothing music in the background to help calm your spirit. I find the staff to be very professional and client oriented. Cindy and Ali are great massage therapists. If I walk in tired and stressed, I always walk out feeling relaxed and refreshed. I am a recent concert to infrared saunas and did a quick search and found this place close by. Right by Bushnell's Basin in Pittsford. Don't let the sterile exterior of the building deter you. You might be in a random office building, but once you enter the space, it's totally relaxing and inviting. A chill spa environment that's a little bit quirky and fun. Evelyn, the owner and massage therapist is incredibly welcoming. I have had really great luck in multiple cities with independent self-owned providers of personal services with aestheticians, beauticians and the like. Nurturing Hands is no different. The infrared sauna set up is so lovely, down to the last detail: an assortment of books, water, warm towels and a wide selection of robes! There is also an option to sauna with friends, though I'm more of a solo sauna-er. After my 30 minutes in the sauna relaxing and sweating out some toxins, Evelyn gave me a wonderful and relaxing massage. The 75 minutes flew by...next time I'm booking for at least 90 minutes. On two occasions we both waited there to see what happened in the room when massage was complete. Both times they just remade the bed with the same dirty old sheets. Disgusting, very unsanitary. When you go there ask them if they changed the sheets or demand it. Stay healthy.

They're rated 5 stars for good reason!…read more A few weeks ago, I was running on the treadmill and turned my head to stretch a bit. One of my first runs of the year. About an hour after the workout, I was tight and in pain in my neck...left side. I sat all day thinking it would calm and go away and it didn't. By the end of the day, I was using my entire body to turn my head. Strange enough, the exact same thing happened last year while running on the canal path with a girlfriend. It was one of my first runs of the year, we were chatting along our run, and I would look over every now and then during the run. After that run, I had an awful pain and tightness that wouldn't go away. Last year, I contacted an LMT to try to work out the pain (& what I thought was a knot). Unfortunately, that LMT wasn't able to rid of the pain and she referred me to a Chiro. I ended up going to that Chiro twice weekly, for about 6-8 weeks. After hundreds of dollars to the Chiro, I felt better. THIS YEAR, when the exact same thing happened on the OTHER side of my neck, I headed to Yelp to find a different LMT and see if this could be worked out thru massage instead of the Chiro. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! Bob used a soft tissue technique and worked on my upper shoulder and neck area the entire hour. That did it. Bob did it! He was able to find the pain and heal me. No miracles happening, just pure competence in his profession. I am SO impressed and I'm happy to refer them.

Pros- -massage table was comfortable - the place was easy to find. I chose to park on a side street and walk a block because I wasn't sure about parking -people were nice Cons - my room was fairly well lit. Didn't help with feeling relaxed -my masseuse didn't turn music on until about 6-7 mins in. So up till then all I could hear was outside the door and my masseuse's breathing. Ugh! -the music was light jazz which would have been perfect for a cocktail party. There was no spa music which usually gives me that "zen" feeling -what my masseuse did on one side of my back, she did NOT do to the other. She favored my left side for some reason -I kept feeling a pulling on the sheets and I wasn't sure what that was. She kept stopping and doing something to the sheets -her strokes were not smooth and uninterrupted....they were choppy -she did not guide my body into the places they ought to be. Most masseuses gently place your head, leg, arms where they ought to be and promptly cover what is not needed for warmth. -she was texting while giving me the massage. Ugh! THE BIG CON---she LEFT midway through my massage to check if her keys were in her car. Again, I've had massages all over the globe and never have I been left in the room. She didn't even add on time for the time she was gone! I almost walked out Usually with massages, I'm in a completely relaxed state and drift between asleep and awake. With this one, I left fully alert and anxious for it to be done. I felt like I needed to go to the spa afterwards :-(

As I was completing my customer form on the provided iPads, I was able to experience the vibrating foot machine. It was a nice touch while I was waiting my turn for the chair experience. It helped me relax and get into the mood right away. When it was my turn, I was taken to the back room, which was even more relaxing. It was dimly lit with a beautiful waterfall towards the back wall and private massage rooms throughout. My massage room had the chair and space for me to place my personal items. It also had an air purifier, which I appreciated, as I am very sensitive to dust. The massage chair can seem quite intimidating when you first look at it, but the staff was very helpful in explaining exactly what it does to ease any apprehension. They were also very good about answering all of my questions! The massage experience itself was very pleasant and relaxing. It moves you forward, then tilts you slightly backward for a zero G feeling. Then it calibrates to your size and begins the massage. It does your feet, legs, bottom, back, head, neck and arms. Massages take about 20 minutes. I chose the light setting and that was perfect for me. My upper shoulders always get very tight in this massage help loosen them. I felt relaxed and renewed when it was done. This concept is perfect. If you're looking for a quick, quality massage that won't take up too much of your time.
