This place is a gem! Its story is also pretty unique! It's owned by the esthetician! She does all the nails, facials and waxing herself. The decor is precious- much different from other spas I've been to! It feels more like a comfortable home than a salon. I really enjoyed the ambiance. I originally came here because of a LivingSocial coupon I had for a pedicure. Regularly, the Petit Pedicure is $24. It's a basic pedicure- foot soak, light massage, cuticles groomed, nails shaped, and polished. There is a nice amount of OPI polishes to choose from. My pedicure was excellent and I loved chatting with Amy while my feet got beautified. They also do manicures, facials, waxing and massage and are really reasonably priced. I never want to see another airbrush station again! Spa services can be very expensive, especially if you religiously get mani-pedis on a biweekly basis -- even monthly! That's a phone bill right there people. You can save that spa pedi for when you REALLY need the extensive TLC. The mani-pedi Groupon ($21!!!) included the most sigh worthy massage and MUCH needed maintenance on these winter beaten toesies and hands. I have very dry skin so I need to make more frequent trips. This spa can get you by until it gets necessary to spend over $50 for a pedicure alone at your elite spas in town. I was extremely, extremely disappointed in my pedicure. I received a certificate for a mini pedicure for Christmas, and used it promptly. The owner (I believe her name is Amy) was great in getting me scheduled quickly, and seemed pleasant enough, but just . . . didn't speak to me the entire time I was in the chair. She gave me a few instructions (like foot in the tub, back out, and how to use the massage chair), but otherwise was completely silent except for few-word answers when I asked questions trying to start a conversation. It was just awkward and extremely uncomfortable to be sitting there in silence when I was obviously actively trying to start a conversation. Now, that aside, the polish selection was fine (though kept in a box so you couldn't see the colors unless you picked up every bottle individually- seems like a terrible choice), and I'm very pleased with the actual paint job on my toenails, but that's where the positive ends for the actual service. I went in with dry, peely heels (it's winter!), and came out with the same. Immediately after I got home, I felt the need to file my dead skin away and push back three of my cuticles, which should NOT be necessary immediately after a darn pedicure. You've got to be kidding me. I got my pedicure done for free (aside from tip) because the certificate was a gift, and I still feel like I was over-charged for the quality. Absolutely would not return. One positive I will say, though, is that because the girl works by herself, there aren't lots of clients in the salon at once. No screeching kids while you're trying to relax! read more

I love, love, love Amy and her spa. We followed her from Saggio and are so glad she opened her own salon. Amy is very accommodating (I always schedule a pedicure and then once I'm there decide I want my eye brows done, she doesn't even blink twice when I ask). The spa itself is so cozy and in a great location, easy to get to and always parking out front. Prices are very reasonable -- the only place I will get a pedicure and brows done when I am home. read more

I could not speak highly enough of Amy and her spa!!! I purchased a groupon deal last minute on a whim before a vacation because of the excellent pricing and little did I know I found my new go-to!! The spa is just gorgeous with a wonderful vintage feel. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. Amy was extremely personable and I felt so comfortable the entire time. She had a large assortment of OPI colors and did a superb job. My runners feet felt like new and she shaped the nails beautifully all in 45 minutes. Her massage chair was also a great plus. She also was very kind and let me have a glass of tea and sit and wait for my toes to dry in her entry room while she moved on to another customer. I brought my sister-in-law from out of town here and she said it was the best pedicure she's ever had and wants to come back. Not only is Amy's work great, she is wonderful to be around. I had high hopes for this place after seeing the Yelp reviews. I purchased a Living Social deal, then called to schedule an appointment. The owner got back to me quickly by text, and we scheduled an appointment that way. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule due to a conflict. I texted to change the appointment but didn't receive anything for days. The owner sent one text about rescheduling, then cut off all contact with me. I called and texted for over a week (maybe 2). Then I finally contacted Living Social to ask for a refund. Since by this time the voucher had expired, they wouldn't offer me anything and said I could use the voucher for the price paid. However, I had no way of using the voucher if the owner will not return my texts and calls! As a last resort, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I'm still baffled by this treatment, since others seem to love her. Very odd.... read more

I got a perfectly lovely pedicure here, complete with a massaging chair. My feet were soft as a baby's bottom when I left. My runner's calluses were almost non-existent when she finished working her magic. I got the pretty dark purple fall color I'd hoped to find for my toenail color. And the calf and foot massage was heaven. Why the 3 stars? It is such a simple thing to fix, and I hope management is reading this! You market yourselves as a Day Spa. You allow your clients to close their eyes and skip the chatter. You even have a bubbling water fountain to encourage relaxation. Why, oh why, do you have a top-40 radio station playing? What are you thinking? I got all relaxed, then had to listen to 15 minutes of commercials, including uber-obnoxious Billy Fucillo! The solution is so easy: hook up your Bose to an iPod with soft jazz, classical, even nature sounds - or Pandora tuned to similar stations. I hope you take my advice, because I won't be back until you change this one decidedly anti-spa-like aspect of your establishment. read more

Technically I cannot write a review of the service as I couldn't get an appt scheduled. Bought pedicures on living social. When I called to get an apt I was told it would be over a month to get me in. Scheduled appt and then needed to cancel it ahead of time as my schedule had changed. Numerous messages and texts later to reschedule did not get a response. After trying so many times Living Social finally gave me credit for the purchases. After reading the previous review I guess I am glad I didn't use the service and was able to get a refund. Frustrating all around, though. read more

I bought 2 groupons for pedi appointments back in March. I tried for months to book appointments for my mom and I but she was always "booked." My groupon expired July 28 but the lady was booked until September 5 so when I called and scheduled an appointment, she said she would still honor both groupons after they expired. I drove an hour and 15 minutes to our appointments and my mom and I were 15 minutes late due to traffic and a farmers market in Fairport that limited parking. I called La Famille Day Spa several times to let her know we would be a few minutes late. She never answered the phone, yet had no customers when we arrived. When we arrived, she said she has a 15 minute late policy and wouldn't be able to do both of our toes. I let my mother get hers done because today was ultimately about taking her out. I was told she would not give me a gift card or reschedule my appointment and that I would need to contact groupon. I stood next to my mom for 30 minutes and was never offered a seat or spoken to. There was only 1 lady there so I'm not sure how we both would have gotten our feet done at the same time (as I was promised when scheduling my appointments) with 1 person there? Her people skills were awful and I will not be recommending that place for nails or feet. She also rushed to get my moms feet done so it wasn't very relaxing or enjoyable. I went to this spa once and the Pedicure I received was "ok". I then purchased a Living Social deal for a $12 Pedi for myself and my Mother. Neither of us could ever make an appointment. We tried several months before the deal expired up until the week before. Still no availability. The owner of the spa *(Amy) is the only one that does these pedicures and puts out so many consecutive "deals" that she cannot honor them all. The point of the living social deals are to get your business' name out there and to promote return customers. However, this experience has done the exact opposite for myself and my Mother. Amy should not be allowed to continue putting these Living Social deals out at all or in the volume she has been. Bad business practices and poor customer service.
