From the moment I stepped in my stylist Sarai made me feel so welcome and comfortable- I had had a not so good experience the day before and I was very nervous and apprehensive which I did explain to her but honestly probably didn't need to because I think she would have done the exact same thing as that's just how she works. She pulled dresses that she felt I'd like but also pulled ones I specifically wanted to try and had previously sent. she walked around with me looking at different ones and let me take my time browsing with my mom. I was stressed about finding anything I half way liked and ultimately found two I was In love with - She understood I'd need to sit with my thoughts and do some comparison and didn't pressure me or try to force me to make a quick decision. I was able to come back the next day after making my final decision- and got to have the yes moment with my mom and friends. $1250 alteration disappointment! Go elsewhere for your wedding dress alterations. Dress was too long for comfortable walking. Lost original waist belt brought in to the shop for dress. Rubber straps used to hold up "off the shoulder" sleeves snapped almost immediately upon wearing. Told us pleats would be pressed so as to the dress not looking too "poofy" @ waist. Not given a copy (a BIG no-no) of the signed "document" bride was asked to sign saying dress had been inspected by the bride. Bride was not given the opportunity to. She was told it was good to go & that it had already been inspected by shop employee. We excitedly left the shop not knowing we were leaving w/a dress w/o a belt. To add stress to an already stressful time, bride found out it was the wrong belt the morning of wedding! To Melange's credit, they did drive out to sew on a (wrong) belt the day before the wedding! read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND My first appointment went very well (so I thought). I went in March 2024 and my wedding is October 2024. I tried on a few dresses that matched my vision and found one I really loved. At the end of my appointment, I was given two options. Option 1: Pay less for the sample dress and get it tailored to me Option 2: Pay an extra $400-500 for a CUSTOM dress Ivana took my measurements and gave them to the onsite seamstress. The onsite seamstress went over my total and let me know my dress would be in mid to late July. Everyone (Chloe, Ivana, and onsite seamstress) who helped me didn't seem worried at all about the timeframe. I left feeling confident and satisfied. I wasn't worried because I maintained weight pretty well throughout the months. I paid 60% of the cost at my first appointment. Once I got the message that my dress was ready (mid July), I was also notified that the balance needed to be paid within 15 days of the notification. Failure to do so would result in forfeiture of monies paid and the dress. My appointment was after the 15 days so I prepaid the rest of my balance prior to my appointment. The day of my fitting appointment, I was helped by Ivana. I got into my dress and Ivana was buttoning it up. Not only was the dress NOT my size, it was HANGING off my body. I had to hold up my breasts (I was braless), my mesh sleeves were huge on my arms, the dress was falling off my shoulders, my waist was not even close to fitted, and the back was scrunched up and loose on my body. It was horrible! Ivana started to grab and bunched up the fabric to fit my body. She then tells me all the things that needed to be done during alterations. I was completely shocked and did not know what to say. At check out, I was forced to initial that my dress fit so I could take it and start alterations. If I did not initial, they would have kept my dress and I would have been out $2k TWO months before my wedding. I was informed that alterations done at their store would have been a minimum of $1250 not including major alterations (like bringing up the back of my dress to fit the length of my back) which would have been an extra $450. I was then told that they had no time to fit in my dress for alterations and needed to find another place. This shop states that they need 3-4 months to alter dress with 3-4 fittings included. This was NOT told to me when I bought my dress initially when they knew the timeframe of my wedding. If I had known all of this I would have either gotten another dress that could have been altered in time, not paid for a "custom" dress, OR found a great shop to do alterations for me. I expressed my concerns and Ivana rudely brought up my initial contract with all my signatures telling me there are no refunds for custom dresses. This was very clearly NOT a custom dress since it was huge on me. I was told at this time, that this specific designer does not do custom dresses but goes based off largest measurement. My largest measurement was from my breasts which in no way fit that area of my body. This was told to me the day I went to pick up my dress. Again, if I had known this at my first appointment, I wouldn't have gotten the dress or made more of an educated decision based off all this information. Ivana then brought up her seamstress so I could ask if she had time to fit me in. I told her my date (which she knew at my first appointment as well as when the dress was coming in) and she very callously said, "no, I have 7 brides ahead, I don't have time for you." I took my dress in tears and ended up finding THE BLUSHING BRIDE BOUTIQUE where they fixed my entire dress for $1k in 3 weeks. They were absolutely amazing and very empathetic to my situation. Their seamstress was much more competent and did an AMAZING job. She completely transformed my dress in 3 weeks. I had my dress completely altered a few weeks before my wedding. They even gave me extra fabric that was cut off to wrap around my bouquet. I can't thank and recommend THE BLUSHING BRIDE BOUTIQUE enough. ETA: There was no "detailed" explanation like you claim. Check out process was rushed. You wouldn't have used the word CUSTOM if that were the case. I was given more details when making my decision and none of which were the same as what I was told at pick up. Despite all this, your blatant rude seamstress and owner is inexcusable. read more

I came here with my best friend about a week ago and was just a little disappointed with how the appointment went - the stylist was okay but didn't really do a great job of bringing dress that would narrow down our options. The dresses we were shown would need major alterations to be wearable. The biggest flub for this appointment was scheduling it for one time (2:00 pm) and writing it down for another (12:00 pm, which was the requested time). There was no phone call to confirm the appointment and they even misspelled my friend's not uncommon name..... so when we made plans to arrive at 2:00 pm because of an automated text and didn't show up at 12:00 pm when they were expecting us, my friend had to scramble to get ready because she lives approximately an hour away. They fit us in at 1:30 pm, but this really set the tone for the entire appointment and my friend was stressed and frustrated by the poor communication. This was my second place to try dresses on at. I preferred the intro at the first place, they showed us around the store and let us know what they had. This place picked stuff for you and didn't seem like they really wanted you to shop/walk around, that might have just been how I felt about the process though. Our stylist Ivana was great! She was friendly and helpful and gave us the experience we wanted! She pulled all the dresses, and helped my daughter change. You might be thinking "so what?" but that was NOT our experience at another bridal shop. She spoke to me and my daughter about what she liked and pulled dresses that fit the description. She helped my daughter narrow it down when she was torn between two dresses. Ivana, didn't push anything on us and even gave us suggestions for people to call for alterations (they were booked too far out for us). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they were a little pricey on the accessories. $200 for straps, $200 for a short veil, etc. It was a great experience and my daughter said Yes to the dress! read more

Taylor was phenomenal!! She had my dress picked out for me from the moment I walked in the door. This was the first place I went to when looking for my dress and the entire experience was lovely! My friends were encouraged to pop their bottle of champagne and help shop for my perfect dress. The salon was beautiful and perfectly lit. It really outshone each place I went to afterwards! My wedding dress was the first one that I tried on at Melange! I really could not find a similar dress elsewhere and I looked at about 5 other bridal shops in the Austin area (I was too nervous to commit to the first but I was absolutely in love with it). Taylor was really great to work with and helped pull all different styles, all of which were flattering but she encouraged me to try on the one I said yes to (thank you a thousand times over!). Although the space at Melange is small, it is very well maintained and is beautiful, the dressing rooms are also spacious compared to some other salons. Not an exaggeration but I did find the most dresses that I liked at Melange. The woman in charge of alterations is a god send (I apologize for forgetting her name). She definitely knows what she is doing and I trusted her 100%. She let me try on my dress when I picked it up the week of my wedding since my man of honor was in from London and it was a truly special moment. They also helped organize my fittings since I moved out of state prior to my wedding. They really took care of me since day one and I couldn't be more grateful. I highly recommend going to Melange, even if you don't find your dress, the staff is absolutely wonderful and it is a great experience. read more

This is the first store I walked into 2 years ago to try on a wedding dresses. The staff was very helpful. I fell in love with a Sophia Tolli dress, but still looked in other Bridal shops. I got very frustrated. I ended up ordering my favorite Sophia Tolli dress nearly 11 months before the wedding. My ordered dress came in and they started doing alterations. The length ended up being perfect. They did more alterations to make the dress fit better and then they were done. The dress fit. When I picked up my dress a week before the wedding, I planned on trying it one more time, but they told me I can't. On my wedding day, the dress didn't fit me as well as before. I was very frustrated. It is even visible on my wedding pictures. I wish, I would have been able to try it on one more time, so that it would have fit better on my wedding day. Honestly I wish this place was my 1st stop. Then again if it had been my first stop maybe I wouldn't appreciate it as much as I do. I found the location of the bridal shop a little odd. It's in the strip mall right next to a mayor hardware store. The parking is ample and when I stepped into the showroom I was impressed. I found the dress shop to be well organized, attractive; and well lit. I was warmly greeted when I walked thru the door. Taylor seemed to know that I was her 2 pm appointment and was well versed in my wish list for my dress. I had set up my appointment a week prior and had described everything that I had wanted in my wedding dress. I had explained which designers I had a large interest in. Taylor asked that I emailed in a few photos of my favorite gowns. Which seemed to help her pick out many options for my to try. I'll be honest she hit it out of the park with the very 1st dress. I was and still am impressed with it. I would say we tried about 8 dresses and at the end of the appointment I was torn. I went back and tried on my top two favorites again and looked at a few accessories. The staff was helpful and really allowed me to the time to make a decision that was right for me. I decided to take a step back and sleep on it before making a final decision. I will say my experience with this shop was more then I expected. I was shocked by the amount of inventory they had in my size. Let me say that one more time....,, Yes ladies they have your size in stock for you to try on. No more of this trying to squeeze in to a dress 4 sizes to small and being clipped in to it. You will see many dress options no matter your size. read more
