BRIDES BE AWARE OF THIS LADY!! PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE!! I had the worse experience and I do not want anyone to go through what I went. Let me Explain my experience and let this be the review you need to not go here. I reach out to her on 5/15/25 she was very responsive to my calls and gave me an appt right away! I attented my first consultation with my MOH and Beatrice had us write all the things that my dress needed the total came to $1575 and at that time i did not know if that was an okay price but i went for it because I wanted someone local I proceeded and gave her $600 cash deposit as she really preferred that over check or card. We schedule my second appt we showed that day and she never opened the door for us i called her 3 times and texted her and she saw my messages an 1 hour later but did not bother to apologize for wasting our time. I had to text her to ask her if everything was okay because I showed up for my fitting and she never opened the door and she stated that she was okay but when i was going to show up for my fitting? I was confuse because two days before i called her and texted her. Anyways I assune maybe she did not see my missed calls. I proceeded to schedule another appt this time she apologize for the mix up and she told me all the things she was going to do to my dress then at the end she wanted another payment and i gave her $400 cash since she had worked on some things. On 6/20/25 I went again with my MOH and i did not see any changes but i did tell her how my custom slevees will looked and she said she does not design them she just sews them so my MOH design them with the fabric given by her and pin everything but today 6/22/25 she told me she had an emergency and she has to leave and won't be able to finish I was left speechless because my wedding is in a month i asked her what about my sleeves and she says she cannot do the sleeves because its too detail and tried to change the work order around but why didnt she mention on 6/20 she could not do the job? What's more shocking is that she mention my sleeves were going to rip off anyways becauze of the fabric she was going to use!!! Like you are charging me $400 and you knew you weren't giving me quality!! I explain to her that i understand that she has an emergency , but i expect a refund for the sleeves she did not complete and she refuse to reinburse me because according to her she completed the job... I kid you not this lady cut a piece of fabric and gave it to my MOH to create the sleeves with safety pins and the "sleeves" were the same way we left them and she said she sewed them together and did her job. I told her I was not going to pay her any more money because she had rip me off and she threatend me to not give me my dress or to call the police or worse sue me? I stated to her that i was willing to pay her for all the work she did so we agreed to pay her $200 more but that was me being nice because she did not live up to her word. Then after she received the $200 cash she says that i still owe her money because the total is $1750!! I explain to her 4 times that the total on the receipt was $1575 however she insisted At the end she told me that i needed to leave her house and she shut the door on me. Brides or anyone that goes with her please have a witness or record everything she says because she denies alot of things. I left her place with a huge headache, although she gave me my dress i am now in the urge for someone else to finish her job because she did a horrible!! The only thing she did was the bustle and cut 2 layers of my dress. I came home and the layers were cut so uneven! I just wanted to cry The veil she sold me was $275 and she did the pin while i was there in 10 mins and incorrectlly and she cut the veil so bad!! I should of seen the red flags!! I would suggest to not even call her she wants you to pay her all the money and won't finish the job! She demanded more money on the third fitting but i told her I could not give her more money until she finished and thank god I did because I would have lost more money. I decided to take my dress to two different seamstresses who confirmed that there were 2 holes in the dress that could not be fixed, as well as holes from safety pins that could be not fixed. I went to another dress shop to have the dress "modernized"-the idea was to have the 80's sleeves and neckline modified. Long story short, my mother's wedding dress was BOTCHED! I was heartbroken! A month out from my wedding, I went to Beatrice. My first wedding dress had come in from Etsy and just looked absolutely terrible so she helped take my measurements so I could purchase a second one. The cost of my measurements was $50, but if I were to get my dress altered from her, it would be applied toward the alteration. When my 2nd dress came in, this time purchased through BHLDN, it was absolutely stunning but it had a lot of work that needed to be done. First, there was an excessive about of fabric on the bottom of the dress that needed to be hemmed. Second, I was losing weight so it needed to be taken in quite a bit. Third, because of the alterations, all of the beading needed to be delicately put back into place. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to shop around for a more affordable seamstress. Beatrice is expensive but she does great work, is really personable and available. The overall cost to have my dress altered was $800. My dress was a $600 dress, so after alterations it ended up being a $1400 dress. I had a DIY wedding that cost less than $10k, so we were able to splurge on making sure the dress was absolutely stunning and I believe it was completely worth it. If you have the time to shop around before your wedding, definitely do, but don't pick a place because of the price tag. Keep in mind the work that has to be done on your dress and make sure that whoever you choose does quality work. This is your day and you should look absolutely fabulous. read more

I had ordered my dream dress from BHLDN and when it arrived it was too big and needed some altering. With about 4 months to go I contacted Beatrice after some extensive research which concluded she was one of the top options for brides with consistent results. After a consultation and 3 sessions my dress was perfectly tailored to my body. By my fourth visit my dream dress had come to life. At the end of the appointment I felt like crying. She was going to charge me more than what I paid for my dress, and my dress was not cheap. This review is based on my experience going through the quote process for my wedding dress alterations. After finding Beatrice via Yelp, I scheduled a consultation with her to come in, put the dress on and receive a quote. I called the morning of the consultation to confirm, and she had forgotten to write my appointment down, but promised to squeeze me in. My mother and met with her and were quoted an extremely high price for the alterations. Beatrice said she actually should charge us more, but she would cut us a deal. She suggested the dress would require nine fittings. While it seemed that Beatrice was very talented and had a track record of being trusted by her clients, and my dress is heavily beaded, we declined because of the sticker shock and decided to explore other options. Ultimately, I worked with another extremely well-reviewed shop to have the same set of alterations made with more efficient fittings at a price quote that was 25% what Beatrice was asking. In talking through the alterations process with this team, it became clear to me that if, in our protectiveness of the wedding dress, we had heeded Beatrice's warnings that it was very risky to take the dress anywhere less expensive, we would have ended up paying way more money than was needed. While I can't make a personal comment on Beatrice's skill as we did not move forward with her, I feel obligated to share my experience. In the wedding planning process that can be so overwhelming, I recommend taking time to consider your options and ensuring that prices you are being quoted are warranted. Ultimately, if you want extreme attention to detail, a very high number of fittings and don't have a strict budget, Beatrice might be the right person for you. read more

Unbelievably unprofessional. I have no words. I came from out of town to support my sister in her preparation for her wedding. We showed up to the second dress fitting where Beatrice didn't even know we were coming and also didn't know my sisters name... We rescheduled for a few days later where it was clear she hadn't worked on the dress and didn't know what she was doing. She wanted final payment to release the dress. She promised boning around the bra area and to fix a strap. I was there to learn to bustle. I found Beatrice by happenstance and it was a blessing! I had a wedding dress that I was absolutely in love with, but like most wedding dresses, didn't fit me correctly. Beatrice was fantastic from the very first visit. She made me feel comfortable, and most importantly did FANTASTIC work on my dress. She has an eye, it's truly a talent. She makes the dress fit your body perfectly, accentuating all the right curves and hiding all of the wrong ones. -I bought my dress last year in March 2018 from a consignment store. It was a Maggie Sotterro dress that was a sample dress from a previous bridal shop that closed. I got a great deal on it but it was too big. I loved it anyway. I did my research for an alterations designer and came across Beatrice on the Knot and Wedding Wire. This lady can see and sew well! We have had multiple appointments over the last year and she has been so kind and her expertise was very knowledgeable. Beatrice is AMAZING at what she does. Long story short, I had a custom made, very expensive wedding dress, that when it arrived, was entirely a poor fit. The torso was too short, the back was too high, etc. It was a nightmare. Beatrice was able to work with the store and designer from which I ordered my dress in order to get more fabric so that she could work her magic. Beatrice worked with me almost right up until the day of the wedding to make sure the dress was perfect. My dress had so many details and a corset on the inside. Beatrice was able to make it perfect. She was also able to open up the back of the dress, as I really wanted a deeper back. Without Beatrice, I would've been disappointed with how my dress looked. My review in on the consultation. I did not move forward with Beatrice for alterations. As noted in other reviews scheduling is not Beatrice's strong suit. In an effort to proactively manage this I confirmed my appointment with Beatrice several times and in multiple written communication. Via text, phone and outlook appointment. When I arrived she was with another client. I waited a half hour before Beatrice took me in for my appointment. She proceeded by telling me my appointment was a half hour later and essentially arguing with me. When she looked at her notes and saw I was right she said "well I'm flexible I hope you're flexible". Annoying way to start an appointment. She had me pay upfront for the appointment. Which I thought was odd. I got into my dress and she counted the layers and gave be a quote to hem the dress. I thanked her for her time and said it was so far out of my budget that I would not be moving forward. This is the kicker!!!! She then took pictures of me in my dress!!!!! I was furious, I didn't use her as a seamstress and she certainly should not be using pictures of me for who knows what. If you are comfortable with scattered and rude she is the seamstress for you. This review is a bit delayed and I have mixed feelings about writing it. I used Beatrice's services in 2011 for a rather in depth alteration of a vintage wedding dress that was several sizes too large. I had 5-6 appointments over the course of as many months, and as others have commented, she was quite scattered and I never really new what to expect in terms of her state. She talked a lot about other dresses/brides, seemed to have taken on more than she could manage by herself, and there was always this strange undertone that I should be grateful that she made time for me. It was interesting to say the least. The above eccentricities could have been overlooked had she delivered with my wedding dress, but sadly she did not. Since the final fitting didn't include walking around in the dress, or sitting, I was unable to see that the internal slip layer was completely misaligned and on my wedding day it showed itself pretty quickly with all of the walking I did during our photo shoot. In all of my photos, my dress looks completely wrinkled around my waste line and in the pictures that show the dress from behind. the seam and bustle is clearly pulling to the left by about 3-4 inches. I spent $1000 for the alterations and certainly don't feel the quality of the work I received came anywhere close to being commensurate to that price. Honestly, I'm not sure how I would have handled it if I had discovered the problems before my actual wedding. Unfortunately, she didn't have my dress finished until 2 days before I left for my destination wedding, so there would have been little time to get things right, but after all of the trash talking she did about other "demanding" customers, I certainly don't believe she would have worked with me to solve the problem under such a tight timeline. read more

I hired Beatrice Rodriguez to alter my dress at the end of November 2018 for a June 2019 wedding. Over the course of my appointments, Beatrice accused me of being a no-show at appointments (I wasn't and I write my schedule in a day planner so I had notes to reference), told me that I was mistaken on the number of appointments I had, told me how grateful I should be at the "deal" she was giving me ($945 for alterations to fit the dress and add a bustle plus a veil - $500 had been paid up front as a deposit - THIS IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MOST PLACES, AND I KNOW THE AMOUNT OF CHOICES AND RESEARCH YOU NEED TO MAKE DURING A WEDDING IS EXHAUSTING, BUT DO YOUR RESEARCH!), asked me why I hadn't already written reviews for her, told me exactly what to write in these reviews and how to phrase them, and implied that I was a difficult bride who was asking for a lot of changes. I think I'm pretty go-with-the-flow but everyone's experiences are subjective and you know, bridezilla trope, so make of this review what you will. I respect that altering a wedding dress is a difficult job and a seamstress has way more experience than I do at knowing what will work, so I basically agreed with everything she said and didn't have strong opinions on what needed to be done. After my third fitting (fourth visit to her - there was a consult) in March, Beatrice suddenly was demanding payment in full but had never told me that it was due at this particular visit. We looked over the contract (READ YOUR CONTRACT) and yes, it did say the payment was due at the second to last appointment (again, didn't know it was gonna be this one). Beatrice kept giving different answers of when my dress would be finished, so I decided that this relationship was not working out and asked to take the dress that night. I left to get cash was willing to pay the rest of the balance, knowing that I was paying for an unfinished dress, but I wasn't leaving that night without my dress. Beatrice said I couldn't do this, the dress wasn't finished, I needed to sign a release form from her husband, I could pick it up next week, etc. I never raised my voice or said much beyond repeating "I'm not leaving without my dress," and didn't get into the reasons for this decision because I knew trying to rehash it was not going to be a productive conversation. Beatrice told me to get out of her house and that she was calling the police (she never did, in the end, but she told me that if she had, the police wouldn't have helped me and so I should be glad she didn't call). I went into the driveway and waited for her husband. Other people have posted different experiences, but he was nice to me and we made some small talk, I apologized for the interruption to the other appointment (had to leave to go get cash to pay the balance because I didn't have my checkbook on me/she wouldn't take a credit card, and I offered to wait in the lobby until the other bride was done, knowing that this was likely to be a scene). In the end, I got my dress, all of the pins taken out of it, so not fitted at all, and her husband did not have me pay the rest of the balance. Beatrice's parting words to me were about how she was doing me a huge favor by letting me take the dress in its unfinished state. I don't want to be overdramatic here, but the way that she would turn everything around where I was the difficult one and I should be grateful to her is very reminiscent of gaslighting. Hearts of GOLD!!! Truly Beatrice and her husband Eddy have hearts of gold! I first met them when my now-husband and I had decided to forego the big wedding plans. We had already been engaged for 2 years and were sick of "waiting til we could afford it". So we made the final decision to just go ahead and do it with barely a month before the special date. We were on a tight budget with little time when I finally got a dress given to me by a friend. The dress was perfect, but needed some alterations. So scrambling around I came across Beatrice's listing. Of all the people I talked to, she was by far the most helpful and even though there was a chance she wouldn't be able to do it due to the time restraint, she still made the time to give me a free fitting consultation. At the bottom line she wasn't able to do the alterations herself with so little notice, but gave me a lot of helpful tips so I could do it myself. We were also on the hunt for an officiant for us that wouldn't break the bank and, lo and behold, she told me her husband Eddy is a minister and will perform small ceremonies for couples like ourselves free of charge! So we met with him and he agreed to help us out of the pure goodness of his heart. Come the wedding day, Eddy performed a beautiful ceremony that was small and perfect for us. So even though we never gave a dime to Beatrice or Eddy, we would not have had such a perfect and special day without them!! We cannot express enough to show how thankful we are. To all the brides-to-be out there that may be reading this, if you get the opportunity to work with these wonderful people, do it! Stop looking elsewhere!! I used Beatrice to make my wedding veil. I brought my dress in because I wanted her to get an idea of what kind of veil we should make, and I also thought there was a slight chance I might need to get it altered. She knew exactly what kind of veil would go with the dress, and it was just as I had envisioned. I tried my dress on for her, and she said it didn't need any alterations. She didn't charge me for that at all. She had the veil complete within a couple of weeks or less, and the price was much lower than if I had purchased a veil elsewhere. I received my wedding dress 2 weeks before my wedding from my grandmother, who had insisted on altering it for me - and it was completely ruined. It was cut too short, it didn't fit at all in the bust, the lace was pinned on wrong, and there were pins still in it! I cried for about 5 hours, then by some miracle, found Beatrice. She not only agreed to fix my dress in time for the wedding, she also made time to fit in 3 fittings with me! She is a true perfectionist and is the only person I would ever trust again with such an expensive gown. She made sure I was 100% happy, giving me everything I asked for and more. I used Beatrice for my alterations on my wedding dress. I had no idea what to expect walking into her house, but boy was she so friendly! I think we started the alternations in September/October of 2009 and my wedding was March 6, 2010. We met over 5 times and she was amazing. The work Beatrice did on my dress was wonderful. She tells you exactly what fits your body and how she is going to alter your dress. This woman is busy and made me feel like I was her only client. We had to reschedule a few times, but it wasn't a problem...once it was my fault and another she had a family emergency. I would highly suggest her to anyone who is very meticulous about anything and wants perfection! I'll post my before and after pictures...incredible!
