I thought since it was my first time trying on dresses, and I knew I wouldn't be buying today, sure, I can pay them for their time and service. But seems like they knew I wouldn't be buying, since they treated me like crap. And if I had found a dress, I was definitely ready to buy that day. Since I bought the VIP experience, we had the center area for me to walk out and look in the mirror. There was a bench for everyone to sit on. In the corner there was a cart full of snacks, drinks, and a whole bottle of champagne. At no point did any of the staff indicate we could touch the cart. So really, the only thing I got out of paying $150 was some chocolates I told one of my bridesmaid to take. It felt like stealing since, again, none of the stylists mentioned it. Even worse, exactly when my appointment time ended, another stylist took the cart away without saying a word. The bottle of champagne that came with this $150 appointment - poof, gone. Felt like a "please get out" kind of gesture. Additionally, I picked Melange since they're the only store in Austin to participate in the national bridal sale. They never mentioned the sales rack. They really never mentioned... well, anything! We had to ask how the store was organized just so we could know where to look for what. My stylist felt like she couldn't care less about being there. Sure, she waited outside my dressing room in cases I needed help and helped me into the dresses when needed. And I really tried to have a fun time, making jokes and being lighthearted, but she wasn't giving any of the energy back. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, and I'm sorry if she was, but it might as well have been a Target fitting room. Sure, the dresses are pretty and I think the other 2 brides I saw trying on at the same time found their dress. So, I guess their dress selection isn't bad. But it wasn't my cup of tea nor was the service top-notch. If you're a good salesperson and put in that work and give good customer service (I've worked in customer service/retail before, I know how hard it is), I try my hardest to buy from you. But we just didn't agree.

My dress came in 2 months late. no big deal, I went to go, try it on, and the dress was damaged. The shop agreed to fix the dress, they said it would take a few months. They never updated me on when the dress was going to be ready. I had to call and email in order to get an update. At this point I wasn't very stressed out because we still had months until the wedding. I finally got an update. The store said the dress was fixed, however, it looked even worse than it did originally. At this point they just said they would order a new dress for me entirely. I was totally fine with that. They never gave me an update as to when the dress would be arriving. I called and emailed a few months later to ask when it would be here and they gave me a date. That date came and went and they never reached out to me. I had to call again to get an update. Finally they give me another arrival date, it never came and they again didn't update me. Getting an update from them was like pulling teeth. I finally got pretty frustrated because it had been almost a year since we originally ordered the dress and my wedding was getting very close. I had to tell them if it wasn't here within a few weeks then I didn't want the dress anymore. Magically two days later the dress arrived. I go to try it on, and the dress has the same issue as the first one AND another even more noticeable issue. I was so upset and frustrated at this point because to me, it looks like the same dress but with another issue. I told them at this point that I didn't even want the dress anymore. Itold them to keep it and I just wanted a refund. Obviously they didn't want the dress because no one would buy it full price in that condition. They tried to gaslight me and tell me the dress looked fine when it was very clearly ripped in two places. They would not give me my money Back.I was more than reasonable the months and months I didn't hear back from them I didn't make a scene. I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge, which added even more stress on me and made the whole dress shopping experience really unenjoyable. It was already 8pm, and we had no idea if it was left at home (45 minutes away) or lost during steaming earlier that week. The shop was closed and also closed on my wedding day. Panic doesn't even begin to cover it. We were on our way to David's Bridal before closing when my sister reached out to Brandy, who owns a boutique about 20 minutes from the venue. Brandy didn't hesitate--she said she'd meet us at the store in 30 minutes, after hours. She calmly looked at my dress, pulled several veil options that were perfect, and when we went to purchase one, she stopped us and said to just return it after the wedding and not worry about it while on our honeymoon. She didn't charge us anything--not even a rental fee. My mom and I burst into tears. In one of the most stressful moments of my life, Brandy showed overwhelming kindness, generosity, and compassion.
