Obviously being a consignment store, this stuff is used, but it doesn't even look it at all. They had so many unique things inside. Upon reaching the end of our self-guided walk, we ran into Kimberly (I believe that's what her name was.) She was one of the workers, and gave us a run down on the store. She mentioned that the store gets a lot of new items quite often, and things get sold rather quickly! She also mentioned that items drop 10% every month I believe, with a max discount of 50% available. I thought this was pretty cool! Me and my wife are looking to furnish our new home, so this was nice to know. We will definitely be back in the future!

Man this place is cool- but wildly expensive…read more I have been in the antiques game for a while now and am very familiar with pricing, piece history, time periods, etc. If you are new to buying antiques and looking for a few interesting pieces, this shop is not for you unless you are willing to invest some serious cash. Or of course, unless you just just want to browse (which honestly I highly encourage! The place is like a really beautiful museum). From my own personal experience, I will tell you that you can find many of these items or items very similar at auctions, estate sales, large wholesale flea markets, and so on-- but obviously that requires time, effort, resources, and a keen eye for antiques. While most of the items in the shop would still innately be on the expensive side regardless of where you purchase (because of what they are and where they're from), the extra markup that you are paying for here is for all the work to be done for you. All (and I do mean ALL) of the hard stuff has been taken care of like finding the actual piece, cleaning/refurbishing as necessary, and staging vignettes for inspiration and decorating. This comes at a premium and the markup could be worth it if you have the money or are just willing to pay for their efforts. But for me, the thrill of antiques is in the hunt! and the negotiation; gotta love a deal. Plus, I enjoy refinishing or cleaning an item myself- which can increase its value dramatically and making my investment that much sweeter. I did love that majority of what I saw when we went were super interesting European antiques and architectural salvage- which are kind of my weakness. Also, the stars of the shop are without a doubt the oversized and incredibly unique books around the show room. All are in exquisite condition which is amazing considering many are from as far back as like the 1600s. Some were bound in velvet with metal trim, some were in a material similar to leather, there were one of a kind volume sets- I have never seen anything like them before! (insert heart-eye emoji). The books were between $300ish upwards to the thousands and are the only things I actually considered purchasing. All in all, the place is spectacular and lovely to browse- but that's pretty much as far as my interest goes with regard to shopping here.

We have purchased a few choices pieces from William Word antiques over the last ten years and have always been impressed with the quality, restoration and customer service. At this point we have purchased Armoires and Dressers as well as some smaller decorative items. The store is a family owned business mostly run by William Word's two daughters who provide exceptional knowledge and service for the type of purchase being made. Buying real antique furniture can be both daunting and nerve racking. When my wife and I first started down this road we were truly intimidated but at the same time we were determined. The Words are extremely patient and in no way make you feel pressured to purchase any of their furniture. In some ways you feel your in a museum than in a store and they always take their time educating you; which is just cool. This is what gives us the piece of mind in knowing that we are buying the right piece of furniture for our home from the right people. You are not just purchasing a functional item for the house but an investment and piece of art that will both keeps its value over the years and provide your home a new family member. I highly recommend William Word Fine Antiques and would not purchase antique furniture anywhere else if I am in the market.

At $80 they would have been a tad overpriced, but the deal made them just right. Contrary to the other review I found the staff to be very friendly. The home decor styles they have here are definitely my taste but above my current budget. If you're hunting for some random furniture or interesting wall pieces I would definitely recommend hitting this shop if you're in the area.

Bet you didn't know they did re-upholstery, did you? Neither did I until City Issue referred me to them. Apparently they do some of City Issue's mid century modern furniture re-upholstery. For starters I bought this absolutely gorgeous mid century Dux chair that was covered in this hideous stained fabric that I knew I could get redone to look more period; the price was good so I had to buy it. After I bought the chair I had an email convo with one of the designers to get a quote for my chair and ottoman. I provided her with pictures and dimensions. She gave me the quote, $350 which isn't that much considering the front and back needed to be replaced as well as the ottoman. She also asked me to come in and pick a fabric. They have loads of fabrics to choose from; all styles and all price ranges. They also will let you bring in your own fabric, which is what I did (I bought my fabric at Lewis and Sheron). They quoted me a time of when my chair would be ready. I picked it up when it was done and my jaw dropped. My chair was now pimped out and bad ass. They did a wonderful job and I am so happy that I used Nandina. That chair is now my seating pride and joy. *I will post some pictures when I get around to taking them.

I was looking for a…read morepainting, but I got distracted by some lenses (I''m a photographer) and one of the employees saw me looking at the lens and told me there's a booth that has a lot of cool, old cameras, and about half way down the store there's another spot with a bunch of cameras for sale. My favorite thing about this store is that it's the type of place where you will unexpectedly find a treasure. For example, I bought my parents' Christmas gift here---a beautiful Japanese black-lacquer box with intricate mother-of-pearl inlay. Although this type of box is not uncommon, this particular find was, for a number of reasons, unlike any other I have ever seen. The price was incredible, too. If you don't find something you like the first try, go back in a few months because it seems like the kind of store that gets some great pieces at reasonable prices. Quite a nice surprise when other antique stores in Roswell seem to jack up their prices.
