The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. What really surprised me was how good the Vietnamese food was. The fresh garden rolls were light and tasty, and the pho was flavorful and hit the spot. Even better, the pho is available on their late-night menu, which is a huge plus when you're looking for something more satisfying than typical bar food. Great service, good food, and a unique menu combination that works surprisingly well. If you're looking for a casual sports bar with great service, plenty of TVs, and unexpectedly good Vietnamese food, this spot is worth checking out. I'd definitely come back.

This place has been on my list after reading about it in the Washington Post about a restaurant owned by a Vietnamese couple that honour service members on memorial day by serving vets and leaving tables open for fallen service members. The owners do this because they were "boat people" during the Vietnam war and were rescued by American GIs during the evacuation. What makes this place even better is that they serve both happy time foods and pho as late night snacks. It's pretty rare for a Vietnamese restaurant to stay open after 9, and this place is perfect for that. Me and my friend ordered nachos, pho, and spring rolls! All were delicious, and not something I can say Ive had at the same time before lol. This is def one of my go tos when I'm craving food late night!

The wings were top notch! We just got the standard buffalo wings and they were just the right size, well cooked and very saucey. The sauce is great because it's a bit of a unique twist on buffalo. It's nice when every place does not have the same mix of Red Hot and Butter (this was not). So, wings fit the bill. Very salty and spicy if I recall (it was late) and want to come back again soon. My friends enjoyed the shepherd's pie, but it wasn't the best I've had. The beef was kind of mild and the potatoes were not crisped on the top. However, a solid home made offering that you can season as you like and I suppose you can order it "crispy" to make sure it comes out that way. Yeah, I'd order it again.

We had a great time here for a number of reasons - all the staff were from Philly, which I could hear right away. It seemed many of the patrons were too based on sports logos and accents. The bartender was super welcoming and attentive so we ordered some beers. They also have a check-in offer of a free drink, so be sure to use that if you come in. I had a local DC beer and of course had to have one Yuengling on draft, a favorite beer growing up. It was a welcoming and happy place. I'm sure the bar food is good, we weren't hungry on our visit. If you're in DC and need an Irish style pub to have a drink or watch a game, this is a convenient one near Dupont Circle.

I made a last minute change to meet a friend here, but much to my surprise... they had a PS5 and Tekken booted up at the bar. I am by zero means a Tekken player. Yes, I'm a huge gamer, but I'm terrible at Tekken. But the mere concept of being able to watch and play it at a bar is incredible. That aside, they got a bunch of board games like Trouble, Uno, Trivial Pursuit... the classics man! Oh right, the bar part. Their drinks are great. The staff are great. The specials are great. And they give you popcorn! And they have a whole little table with all the popcorn fixings if you don't want to eat it plain. You can literally bring in food from anywhere on top of that. I'm not sure if it's a Sunday thing, but the place really doesn't get too busy. It's quite a vibe. If you've never been and you're in the Logan Circle area, go.

The running joke among my generation of students being the former pharmacy will have you going to a real one afterward. In any case, I had a gift card and decided to give them another chance. The customer service was okay; the servers and bartender were amiable enough, but generally disinterested in small talk or anything beyond "What are you ordering?" Very college kid mentality; I get it having been one not long ago, but I did wish for a bit more engagement. I ordered the tomato soup and the coconut curry tofu. The soup was fairly solid, savory and hearty. Probably could have used a little more peppercorn and garlic, but nothing super critical. The tofu was decent; a bit crumbly but it stayed together, and it was generally evenly-cooked save for some burnt portions. The veggies were also decent; crisp and a bit chewy, nothing too offensive about them. The curry, however, was quite bland and in dire need of some spices; cardamom, cloves, allspice, etc. all seemed missing, and the primary spice component seemed to be cumin and chili. The jasmine rice was, well, jasmine rice, nothing much else to say. Would be nice if there was a lower-GI substitute like brown rice, but there isn't. Again, I have some fond memories at Tonic from a decade ago, but the novelty of an eclectic eatery with locally-famous tatter tots in a historic pharmacy has certainly worn off. Would highly advise the management to not whitewash cultural foods and lean into authenticity a bit more. Especially at the prices being charged; this relatively simple vegetarian meal cost over $35 after tax. That's a bit extortionate, even by downtown DC standards.
