For our destination wedding in Maui, my husband and I spent a lot of time researching photographers for our big day. In particular, we hoped for someone who is not only able to capture beautiful photos but also can identify moments of raw and real emotions. After looking through myriads of photographers, Melia was the clear winner for us. Despite our high expectations based on her prior works (check out both her Hawaii and Vancouver sites, as well as her Instagram to know what I mean), Melia's photos far exceeded anything we had imagined. My husband and I decided we wanted a destination wedding, and second to finding our venue, we knew our photographer would be the most important decision we would make. We love raw photos that capture emotion, paired in unison with incredible lighting. After researching a ton of photographers, we narrowed down to a few including Melia. We loved that she had a blend of posed photos (like the kind you need with family) but she also had an artistic touch to her work, capturing small details, raw moments between people, and things others wouldnt think to capture. In the end, the final product was incredible. We received our photos quickly, and we were floored by them. Everyone who sees them is wowed, and i am amazed at what she was able to capture, even as i awkwardly stumbled around a jetty (sp) during a windstorm.
