I just realized I never reviewed Naomi after we did a photo shoot with her in Maui!!!! This is way overdue. We wanted to do a maternity shoot while we were out in Maui over a year ago. We found Naomi through another photographers recommendation beforehand. We checked out her work online and liked it. The online and phone call conversations were easy and the communication was great so we sent her a deposit to lock the date. A few weeks later, we arrived and met up with Naomi at the beach where she recommended for great sunset photos. She was super nice and easy to work with. My husband and I eloped to Maui and knew nobody on the island, so a good ol' Google search was necessary to find a photographer we loved. The preliminary search narrowed down our choices but all the photographers we initially emailed seemed curt or uninterested in doing a Very Small Wedding (literally nobody else but us went). We were referred to an elopement/small Maui weddings blog that highlighted photos, and we started quickly noticing that all photos were from a staff photographer named Naomi. Another Google search brought us Naomi Levit Photography. After the nicest email back ever, we decided to go for her. Best decision we made (after deciding to get married, that is). First off, Naomi is the sweetest person ever. She was so kind and friendly during our entire planning process that I didn't stress once. She also made us laugh throughout the entire wedding evening, which was great because my husband (who notoriously hates anything photography-related) looks genuinely elated in all the photos. I didn't notice she was there throughout the majority of the ceremony, which is saying something because we had no other guests (a wedding planner and an officiant, plus her). That's impressive in itself! We hired her for an hour and a half, and I'm pretty sure we took longer since the sun set a little later than we'd thought. She was open to our ideas for photos (of course we needed a "Just Maui'd" sign and a jumping photo!), but came with a repertoire of images she loves to take too (e.g., a ring shot, kissing in the sunset). Naomi got a sneak peek blog post to us exactly a week after our wedding day, and then sent us the rest of the photos in three weeks (she anticipated it would take "four to six weeks," so that was an awesome surprise). She sent us ALL our photos too, so we get to pick and chose which ones are most special to us along with her faves. We loved every single one of them (when our eyes were open, which was most of the time!) and we would hire Naomi in a heartbeat. Let's just start with this: Naomi is a fantastic photographer! We had our wedding in a wine barrel cave. We eloped so only five of us were involved. I was concerned that the low light would result in a challenge for our pictures, but Naomi had no problem at all making our ceremony look stunning. It was also a sunny day which meant lots of bright light amongst the grapevines. She was ready for everything. I was super impressed. Here's the best part. I am not a fan of getting my picture taken and neither is my husband. Naomi's sweet and silly nature put us both at ease so all our smiles are natural, not contrived, in all our lovey dovey poses. Plus she let us be goofy which made our wedding fun. She even let us have the goofy pictures including the ones with the over-the-top silly faces. Those were the favorites amongst the moms since they show our real personalities. I was worried that I would look like a total insane mess in all our pictures. Nope, she nailed it. Naomi is phenomenal, bottom line. From our initial contact to the delivery of our pictures, Naomi was so wonderful to work with. She was extremely flexible when we wanted to do an adventure engagement session somewhere scenic in California; initially offering to fit us into her time in Truckee and then agreeing to meet us in Yosemite. Naomi photographed our elopement in Maui in June 2021, and she made it a truly unforgettable experience.
