Nice staff. We need to support our farmers. The lady said the snap peas and asparagus available were from their farm. She did not know where any of the other produce came from. The garlic had roots on it, as it should, and they were huge bulbs. They were out of strawberries that day. She said the cold weather has caused them to lose alot of the strawberries in their field. Today is 6-2-26 and we have approximately 1 more week of strawberries in Season. I'm not sure why they had none, because we went to another farm just 15 minutes away (Von Thun) and they had strawberries coming out of their ears ! Nice farm, very friendly people. We've been coming here for many years, ever since we decided to get a fresh cut tree, but they have changed things over the years. Few years back, we figured we'd try and pretag a tree after Thanksgiving to go back and cut later in December, well it was the first year they stopped holding the tree for you where they would record the location by way of a grid system (like the game Battleship). So we tagged a tree and when we went back it was gone ( so much for the honor system). This year it appears that it's pay one price, any tree 5'-20' tall is $99. They used to charge by height, don't remember rate per foot? Didn't ask why the change. It would be nice to get a 20' tree for the price of a 5' foot, but cutting a hole in the ceiling would be out of the question. See what's doing next year? read more

I didn't go on the actual PYO farm but based on their website and store, I didn't need to. They're TINY. Small parking lot. On weekends, you have to take a tractor ride to the pick your own fields ($4 tractor ride + $4 admission). Strawberries in the field are $4.99/lb (so expensive!) In the store they're $8.99/pound. The store is tiny. All of the produce looked past its peak and wrinkly. Most of the shelves were empty. The 2 quarts of strawberries they had left looked old and soft. And for $9? That's absurd. The pies are from a farm in Freehold (which is fine but misleading). I didn't buy anything because nothing looked fresh. The pricing is just insane. Other farms are cheaper and more spacious. read more

I've been there twice and I've enjoyed myself both times, the apple picking isn't necessarily cheap but at least you're picking your own apples. I love walking into the field to pick my own pumpkin too. We will definitely be back next year. My advice to anyone would be to not wait until mid or late October to go because the apple selection is slim from picking and apples falling on the floor. read more

This past one, they went apple-picking with him and his girlfriend. Both kids reported that they had a fun time, and they brought home some beautiful Delicious, Gala, and Granny Smiths. Hiya Adventurers! We came here for a tree right before the holidays and were pretty impressed by the efficiency they did everything. However, I'm not sure I prefer the drill a hole in the tree method for buying a holiday tree. It forces you to purchase their stand for any future tree begin purchases. I also like being able to pick from a larger lot, and cutting it down. The staff was very nice and tied to the car. Overall great experience just not too keen on the idea that you have to use there method and tree stand. read more

Good farm for a weekday, I highly recommending coming here between mon-fri since there is no entrance fee. On weekend, its a $3 fee. Me and my fiancee went around noon & the pumpkin patch and overall area was pretty empty. There were a good assortment of pumpkins and they price it by pound. We also saw a good spot for apple picking but we were a little lost on where the hayride and corn maze were. We wish there were better directions because we honestly couldn't find it but were told on the phone both hayride & maze together were $10. Maybe something to do for next time. The big red farm house where you check out was nice but it would have been great to be able to buy a single apple cider donut instead of the pack of 7. Other farms in the area have them made fresh so this could maybe be a recommendation for next year. Overall okay experience, it did the job but there wasn't necessarily a "wow" factor for us to go back next year. Come on a weekday to avoid fees but Im sure on weekends the staff put a lot more energy and fun into it. On the plus side, we did find the perfect pumpkin for our porch. read more

These people are RUDE. I live near the area and just wanted to get some apples from their general store. I've never been there before and brought my mother. There are no signs or directions on where to park so you are led by employees flagging parking spots for you. We parked and walked halfway to the store before getting yelled at by an employee that we weren't allowed to walk to the store and that we have to park directly in front of the store if we wanted to go to the store. My mother is older and has knee problems and I didn't want to make her walk all the way back so we preferred to continue walking. We then got really rudely yelled at by another employee screaming at us that we weren't allowed to walk meanwhile EVERYONE AROUND US was walking in the same direction!! THERE ARE NO SIGNS OR DIRECTIONS. PLEASE DO NOT RUDELY SCREAM AT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THEY'RE DUMB BECAUSE OF YOUR LACK OF DIRECTIONS. Never encountered such rude customer service in all my life. Don't go here, these people are RUDE. Save yourself the trouble and go to Terhune Orchards in Montgomery. Even though it's an extra 20 minute drive for me, they are very pleasant with with customers and the farm is much more beautiful and impressive than Giamarese. read more

This is a fine place to go if you just want the experience of apple picking but aren't looking to bring home a lot of apples. We went yesterday, which was the first day of their fall festival weekends. $5 per person to enter. Apples were more expensive than the supermarket. I'm not sure what made up the fall festival part, but there were cute painted boards that you could take pics in. There's a market with veggies and a few baked good items, fresh eggs, and some canned products like pumpkin butter. Overall it was decent but I'm really put off by the price of the apples. And I have no idea what the $5 entrance fee got us. We go to orchards to get a lot of apples for less than the supermarket and that's not how this place works. read more

Brentonis one of the farmers on this magnificent piece of land. He was very informative on the hayride. You can visit here just about year round. They do choose your own Christmas tree and they will chop it down for you... They have strawberry picking in the spring, corn, apple and pumpkin picking in the fall. If youre looking for a place to get the basic needs meet for apple picking or pumpkin picking that is semi close to nyc this would do. we went specifically for those reasons and it meet our needs. there was a good variety of pumpkins to choose from and enough apples to satisfy what we were looking for. overall though i think there are some things lacking in terms of what you get out of the day if you were looking for more of a fun experience. the pumpkin field was pretty small and right up front. didnt really feel like you were out somewhere "picking" a pumpkin. just felt like you were walking thru a set up area where pumpkins sat. also the apple section wasnt as big as i would have expected and some of the more popular apple kinds were pretty picked over when we went. the place doesnt make you want to spend a lot of time there but as i said above it does give you the basics to satisfy those picking needs. if you want a more all day fun fall experience where you can go around a farm and do lots of things or walk around a lot then i would suggest going further out. read more

Despite being a bit of a drive from Long Island, this is certainly a worthwhile adventure for the day. We've been two years in a row and definitely plan to try to keep up the tradition. Apple varieties are great, but definitely get there early. This year with the pandemic, the trees were picked over fairly early and of course not all the usual attractions were there, as well as no seating areas. Excellent farm! Lots of apple varieties to pick from! Staff was super friendly and helpful in teaching us the proper way to pick the apples! A little tip: Bring your own bag. Although they provide you with plastic bags, depending on how much apples you pick, the bags may not hold as well and the handles can rip. And by far, the sweetest corns I have ever had. Just blanched them in a little salty water for 5-7 minutes, poke a fork into it to make sure the kernels are cooked through. I have seen locals drive there to buy the corns by the dozen! read more

Cute little farm that's very kid friendly. I came here to pumpkin pick with my son but found they also have a decent selection of $1.99 per lb any variety apple picking. They had my son's favorite - fuji apples. My kid loved using the basket thing to try and get apples high up. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food court actually had very good food. The Italian sausage and peppers and the cheese steak were delicious and reasonably priced. I remember some other farms (maybe Terhune) that had overpriced mediocre food. One downside was the lack of onsite baked goods. It seems most farms I've been to make their own baked products but not here. It seemed all the pies were from some vendor in Freehold. Also it was a pretty small farm with a limited number of attractions but unlike many other farms there is free admission here. They had a hay ride, pumpkin and apple picking, a small barn where they sold some different souvenirs or foods and 5 dollar per ride pony rides. read more

My first time pumpkin picking! Very exciting, I felt like a kid again. It reminded me of a state fair. They had a hay ride, food, face painting, and ice cream. This farm is a nice location to bring those close to you for a wonderful shared event. I highly recommend this farm for all ages. The hay ride was the best part for me; we took a trail on a wagon around the farm. The hay ride had a tour guide who spoke about the farm and the history. She talked about how long they have been around, I assumed because we were going pumpkin picking that the farm only had pumpkins. NOPE! We saw all the crops and a couple of animal there too; I had no clue what it took to grow the fruits and vegetables on a farm. They grow strawberries, zucchini, squash, corn, apples and eggplant etc. It was pretty awesome for visiting a farm for the first time. Once you exit the hay ride, you enter the corn maze. So cool, I really enjoyed it. As you walk through out the maze they had poster board with cool fun facts regarding the history of the farm. Like a quiz from the tour guide from the hay ride. We spent about 30 minutes walking through the maze, you don't actually get lost. No worries just follow everyone else. HAHA. After you complete the corn maze a hay ride comes about every 15 minutes and you catch that back to the entrance. I didn't get a pumpkin. Plus I recommend coming early to get a good healthy pumpkin. However, once you choose you pumpkin you wait in line to place your pumpkin on a huge scale to get weighed. Then you receive a print out of the price and you enter the shop to pay. The shop also sold pies, muffins, cider donuts and other holiday decorations. I ended up buying the two different flavored muffins, the apple pecan muffin was amazing wish I gotten more. This is my first review and I felt compelled to write one for the unbelievably horrible customer service received. Upon entering the farm you are greeted by a woman screaming at you with a rude attitude to make sure you were paying your $5 admission fee per person over 36 inches that includes absolutely nothing. Do not put boots on your child that is under 36 inches because she is the 36 inch police and will insist you pay. This was happening to other guests, not myself. Every activity is an additional fee including a $10 per person "tractor" ride which takes you to a larger pumpkin field with again nothing included. Any pumpkins that you picked must be left in your wagon upfront before entering the apple orchard. To go apple picking you must first pay for your bag upfront. Don't worry because another employee will also scream at you to do so. Only to find that there were not enough apples left to fill your bag and no refunds. Fine, my mistake for not scouring the fields first. Perhaps if I wasn't screamed at to pay for my bag first, I might have been able to look first. Upon returning from the apple field, our pumpkins and wagons were stolen. And the manager said "What do you want me to do? I manage the farm not the people." And "you didn't pay for them yet did you? Go pick other pumpkins." Without knowing if they were already paid for. No apology, no compassion, no customer service and quick to justify his employees screaming at customers by saying they just have loud speaking voices. Old MacDonald, I'm from NY and know the difference between a loud voice and a rude nasty scream. Needless to say we will never be returning. Save yourself your time and money and spend it at nicer farms like happy day farm that have more quality customer service and include all activities with admission price. read more

Excellent Farm with lots to do - pumpkin picking, apple picking, hay rides, pony rides, you name it! The only down side was the lack of food options. When coming to farms like these I'd love to get a taste of what they grow on their fields like a good corn chowder, or apple cider donut. Even in their market it looks like they were selling pies that were from different parts of Jersey and not made in house. Oh and FYI no bathrooms, just pota-potties! and bring cash, your credit card will get you no where, they don't even have an ATM machine. read more

It was definitely worth the 45 min drive from North Jersey to the Giamarese Farm to pick some delicious apples! My family and I decided to visit Giamarese Farm last weekend, just in time to pick some produces to prepare for the fall season. We chose this farm as we heard many positive reviews of this place for various types of pick-your-own fun. Location is easy to find, and the parking area is big with plenty of space. The parking aisles are sand based - therefore it can get dusty while you walk towards the farm entrance if another car drive by. The only option the farm had that day were pick your own apples and pumpkins. Pick your own apples is $1.99/lb and pick your own pumpkin is $0.69/lb. We opted to only pick apples and chose to skip the line by not getting an apple pole picker (it costs more than than apples itself - around $5 or above for the rental fees). Complimentary plastic bags were also given at the apple farm entrance by one of the farm employees. She was very helpful and explained the rules of farm/apple picking etiquette and also bathrooms (porta-potties) location in the area. Apple picking is always fun - we were able to find trees that has ready to eat apples that are low enough to reach without the pole picker. My family and I managed to picked around 6lbs of apples - ranging from autumn gala, mollies delicious, red delicious, cortland and fuji. The line to check out moved fairly quickly too - it took less than 5 mins then we left with bags of goodies! Overall I highly recommend this farm for its pick-your-own options. I was also able to snap some pictures with pumpkins that day! This place is great for families, kids and even couples if they want to do something fun in the fall! Be sure to check it out! read more

Very disappointed that they are now charging an entrance fee to pick apples and pumpkins. I always try and support locals but if you charge a fee and your prices are higher than most for produce, then I'll gladly take my hard earned dollars elsewhere. $2.09/lb. for apples and $.69/lb. for pumpkins or $3.99 for mini pumpkins. Lastly, they stopped doing their CSA program, which was phenomenal. It stands for Community Shared Agriculture and it is a plan where you pick up locally grown produce 1x a week and it is paid for prior to the season start. It's a great way to support your local farm and exposes you to great seasonal products. read more

Apples this year fell a lot earlier due to all the rains. When we visited a few weeks ago about 80% were already on the ground. The apples we did find were great and the pumpkin picking is always great for picking. Parking fills quick and be prepared to walk. Great staff and awesome mini cider donuts and corn! This past weekend was the start of Giamarese Farm fall harvest weekends (Sept. 28- Oct. 27 from 10am- 6pm). They offereed hayrides, pony rides, corn maze and pick your own apples ($1.99/lb) and pumpkins ($0.69/lb). The first thing we did was take my 2 year old nephew on a pony ride. It was only $5 and he had a great time. He actually made a scene and cried when his ride was over. He didn't want to get off the pony!! Oops =X Next we picked a bag full of golden delicious. My fav!! We also went on the $4 hayride that took us on a tour of the farm where we saw other crops they grow such as apples, peaches, corn, squash, peppers, watermelon, asparagus and christmas trees etc. We also saw their farm animals on this hayride tour. They have 2 horses, 3 piglets, 2 turkeys and hens. Before we left for the day, I I bought pumpkin and zucchini bread for $5 each from The Girl Scouts of Milltown that were selling baked goodies. Yum! We spent a good two and 1/2 hours at the farm and had a great time! I definitely recommend coming here. It's just a few miles from route 18 and route 1, easy to get to, a hidden gem, for sure! It isn't as busy and crowded like other farms I've been to. read more

Had an absolutely wonderful time picking and chopping our Christmas tree at Giamarese Farm this weekend. Not only is it a beauty, it was a lot of fun and the staff was great throughout the entire process. After living in NYC for the past 14 years and suffering the injustice of having dinky little trees 4 ft and under in our tiny apartment, we decided to celebrate our move to NJ with a big tree that we would chop down ourselves. Mentioning this desire to our brother in law, he told us he knew the perfect place... which is Giamarese Farm. My brother and sister live in Metuchen and visit the farm throughout the seasons to pick whatever if available. Once we arrived at the Farm, we went straight to the chart to see what was available. It was easy peasy to decipher and the staff was more than helpful! We went straight to the trees and started walking row by row at these gorgeous trees. It took a LONG time for us to pick. I had no idea there were so many varieties of Christmas trees and they actually all looked, felt, smelled different! In the end, we found a perfect Douglas Fir that fit our needs exactly and was perfectly symmetrical. As soon as we decided, one of the farm employees called in to see that the tree wasn't reserved, then handed my husband a saw and let him go at it! It was thrilling. Our tree cost $50 and our stand was $28. Also managed to pick up some ridiculously good Apple Cider Donuts. Yum. We plan on making this a yearly trip! read more

I live in Middlesex County and have always heard about/passed by Giamarese but never actually tried it out. As a fall lover pumpkin farms are one of my favorite places to be... and this one most certainly did not disappoint! The pumpkins were absolutely beautiful! So many to choose from and they were all great. We ended up getting 2. Not only can you pick pumpkins, there's also hay rides, apple picking, and food! We got the fried oreos which were great! Nothing was opened. Yes, they were able to go Apple picking. The corn maze wasn't open or anything else. The website wasn't specific that these activities was only open on the weekends. It's $10/person for the hay ride. There were only 4 rows where you were allowed to pick apples and all the apples left within reach were rotten or diseased. This is a great little farm. Not too many activities for kids but a nice hay ride that includes a guide giving history on the farm, pumpkin picking and corn maze. They also have a beautiful sunflower patch. Near the end of the hayride they showed all the chicken and turkeys, and even let kids pet them. The Apple picking didn't have much variety and very limited apples on the trees but we still managed to pick several pounds of nice apples. They even had a big box of exotic pumpkins for sale, 45c each. We didn't have time to explore the store but we had some milk shakes and Rootbeer floats at the food truck. Visited this farm today with my 2 1/2 yr old son. We thoroughly enjoyed this farm. Unlike other farms here you get to actually pick pumpkins that are in a patch on a vine vs. other farms I researched where the pumpkins are shipped there from other places and simply placed in a grass area. Also got to pick all varieties of apples from actual trees. The prices were reasonable and activities were free for kids under 3. They also offered pony rides and face painting. However, I was disappointed that they do not bake on the premises, offer more baked desserts and the apple cider donuts that were raved about were nothing unique. read more

Beautiful place for everything fall related. The staff is super friendly, and is willing to help you. Well, mostly everyone. The apple picking people had a bit of an attitude. They just told me to get a bag, and just start picking, but she had a bit of anger to her. I don't particuarly like that they charge for everything in the park. I. e. corn maze, just to go in and find your way around isn't pay worthy. To get a hay ride, just to go around town, for a minute, feels a little bit of a scam.
