Dr. Melki has successfully completed a retinal detachment surgery on my left eye. He did an excellent job of saving my vision.

I understand now that the bleed was not due to a detached retina, and in a sense was not an absolute emergency.

She will respond to my texts during off hour questions and always has time to schedule an appointment with me should I or should she feel that is necessary. She has been an excellent resource for referrals to some very good specialists when necessary. Recently she was able to alleviate some anxiety by accessing the results from some tests which turned out to be just fine. However, without her intervention, I would have had to wait. I am very pleased with that level of caring and service. Her assistant, Abby is also pleasant, professional and caring. She is a real boon to the office as Abby is the first person with whom a person interacts when visiting the office. I have never had to wait more that just a couple of minutes for my schuduled appointment. In addition, Abby has drawn blood from my arm with no pain and no bruising. While I certainly know this is not a for sure in the future, so far she has done really well and I appreciate that too!! I completely recommend Dr. Anne and Abby.

From the first meeting I had with Dr. Possner, I knew things would be vastly different and that I had found someone that would have a profound impact on my health. My first appointment was the longest time I had ever spent with a doctor. My appointment was 2 hours and Dr. Possner had fully reviewed my medical records and engaged me in thoughtful conversation about my medical history. I left my initial appointment with a feeling of empowerment over my health that I had never really felt before. Little did I know that the impact of having Dr. Possner as my doctor would happen so quickly. I was on vacation and had an acute UTI. It was after business hours, but I was able to call the office and get the on call doctor that happen to be Dr. Possner. I walked him through my symptoms and he immediately called in a prescription for me. Because he had such knowledge of my history it was easy for us to communicate and talk through my symptoms. He checked on me via email through the client portal several times over the next couple of days to ensure I was ok. The fact that I was in a remote part of a different state and I was able to call and speak with the doctor saved me stress and the hassle of finding an urgent care to go to. He has made several recommendations to other specialists and doctors, all of whom have turned out to be amazing. His referral goes a long way with each specialist I have scheduled an appointment with. I can't recommend Dr. Possner enough; he's a great listener, thoughtful, caring, kind and you can tell he truly loves what he is doing. His follow through is simply amazing.

Disappointing transition: From compassionate care to a corporate money machine…read moreI have been a patient of Comprehensive Primary Care (now CloseKnit) for over 20 years, but following their recent transition, the quality of care has completely vanished. My longtime physician, Dr. Sippora Lehrhaupt, has unfortunately become much less personable and increasingly businesslike. The entire office atmosphere has shifted from true patient investment to a high-pressure, profit-driven corporate environment. During my recent physical, the focus was entirely on metrics rather than medicine. Much of the visit was wasted watching the doctor struggle to input recent vaccinations into a new electronic system. Not only did this add zero value to my care, but the resulting delay actually led to them charging me an extended office fee. Furthermore, the practice now operates like a sales floor. They aggressively pushed an EKG and a pneumonia vaccine. The technician who performed the EKG was rough and rude. For the vaccine, they demanded I sign a $400 financial commitment in case my insurance declined coverage. I refused so I could research it first--meaning I never received the vaccine. Anticipating a billing issue, I proactively alerted the office via the patient portal that I did not get the shot. Despite this, they still proceeded to fraudulently bill my insurance company for it anyway. It is incredibly disheartening to see a practice I trusted for two decades turn into a money-making machine that prioritizes billing codes over patient well-being. I can no longer recommend this practice.

At my most recent appointment, she opened with, "Someone made a mistake when they scheduled your appointment," which was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. She also commented, "He will never do that again!" I felt as though he might get fired because of me. So, I told her that we are entitled to make mistakes, it's our human nature, right? Her comment immediately created tension throughout my visit, to me, she didn't seem to consider how her words might affect someone already dealing with health concerns. There has also been a recurring tone in her interactions that makes me feel as though my care isn't worth her time or that I'm not paying "enough" for her service. Patients should not walk away from a visit feeling dismissed or judged while seeking medical care. It is clear to me she needs to learn or relearn basic bedside manners and rethink how she communicates with the people she is supposed to be caring for. Respect, empathy, and professionalism are not optional in healthcare, and I hope she takes this feedback seriously.

No notice was received that he was no longer a current patient. Fortunately he recovered and is well. Wanting to restablish a GP we made an appointment, they cancelled it and we had to reschedule okay we did. The day of the appointment we had a funeral to go to, was not able to reschedule with adding another 2 month. We left the funeral early made the appointment. My son has Cerebral palsy and therefore two insurances one for assistance and my insurance. I hand them both cards and they say his medical assistance card is not one of their providers. No problem just use my insurance card, he is covered on that nope, can't take the card we have been taking for 20 years. Okay I will just pay it out of pocket, my son needs a GP. Nope I would be making them commit fraud to have me pay for it. So please leave we can not provide your son services because we dropped him, we cancelled his appointment, no you can't stay at the funeral and rush over, just get out even though you want to pay full price. We will send a letter explaining all of this because you insisted on documenting it, can't email the denial os service. This is all from my point of view on wrong side of the glass. So very disappointed in the lack of even trying to be part of a solution!! My opinion a failure by the office of Family Healthcare, in even matching the name of their own company . If this is how they treat family (20 years).....

Throughout the years, I agree with a few of the reviewers in that administratively, Family Healthcare has gone down. Previously, I did not feel as rushed and interactions seemed more personable. I can only assume that maybe they have more patients now and may need better front desk hospitality. I kind of feel many doctors offices in the area are becoming this way.  There is a general feeling of over busyness leading to administrative inattentiveness and longer wait times. I also think this happens at offices where providers are highly sought. So why the 5-star rating? My rating is based on the individual provider. I would rate Dr. Rita Sharma a solid 5 stars. I wish she still saw patients at the Olney office which I feel was more organized. She is always willing to pass on the knowledge she has and is personable. She is also very familiar with other specialist in the area and can direct to you one who has the experience needed for any medical issue you have.
