I was pretty desperate when I hired Melones so I ignored the bad reviews. That was a mistake. At first I was okay. I did have to wait a while till the pool cleared up. They had one excuse or another as to why the pool was green, there was too much algae or other problems. The bill has always been vague and excessive. They insisted on access to my account no limit, no clear invoices, no real explanation. The service people could be moody and insufferable. Trust became a real issue. I had tocut them loose when they seemed to be resetting or adjusting the timer on the pool equipment causing the waterfall to run non-stop. I complained reset and they did AGAIN. Each time acting more belligerent than the last. The last time they left the chemistry of the pool was way out balance I am sick of the chaos. I cannot recommend this company. read more

Less than 3 years after shelling out tens of thousands of dollars for a pool remodel with this company, our pool is leaking and tile is falling off. We had a horrible time with this remodel to begin with- lack of communication from the company combined with poor workmanship was an issue from the start. It took them over a year to complete the remodel (understandable supply chain issues were part of that, but it was worsened by multiple no call no shows). We went to try and repair the tiles that are falling off and a simple touch led to more tiles falling off. The bare spot revealed that during their "repair" of our concrete pool, these people put SAND behind the tile and just hoped it would last until the one year warranty wore off. We contacted them and they refused to correct the issue or help us in any way. If I could give zero stars I would. HORRIBLE workmanship. Stay far away. read more

They came to open the pool. They were there a short time and sent me a bill that was huge saying it was also for the cost of chemicals that I wonder if they really put in given the amount and little time they spent at the pool. They didn't check to see is salt was needed or how many bags of salt for this salt pool. Pool is very cloudy after a day their opening even though when they removed the cover the water was very blue and clear. I asked for them to come and check it out, but this company does not stand by their work. read more

We signed off some estimates for a pool remodel in November/December last year. They inspected and cleaned the pool, and installed the pool pumps and filters in February. Sent us an email to tell us we are scheduled for our pool resurfaced in June. We just called them in July for an update, and they told us they stopped doing pool remodels. read more

ZERO RATING for Melone's Pool Service. They will quote you $200.00 to service your pool, but then they charge you $500.00 Just to throw some shock in the pool, they said it was for Service and Chemicals. BEWARE they will RIP you off. This is definitely a Price Gauging Company. read more

We used this company for our first time. They charged 585.00 to open the pool 5 days ago. The pool still looks horrible as if they didn't use the chemicals at all. Called them and was basically told, nothing they could do. Horrible horrible horrible. Should've listened to the reviews and stayed away. read more

I would have left a zero star if that were an option. This company says they don't have a high "service" fee, however they jack up their "chemical" pricing to make up for it! We were quoted $200 for a simple service, however was later billed $900! When we inquired, they told us we had another issue and they tried to fix it with more chemicals. Unfortunately, the chemicals they used never worked. I think they knew this from the beginning, and their goal was to make up for it with their chemicals! When questioned, they were very defensive and clearly not understanding. They also quoted us another service for $2000, which we ended up getting done by another company for only $500. Don't waste your time and money here, there are better companies out there who care about their results! read more

Absolutely the worst! Stay FAR away from these guys!! Last October (2018) I was unable to close my pool as I usually do due to illness and I asked my wife to reach out to Melones. The first sign reaching out to them was a bad call was they arrived 2 weeks past the appointment. When they they did finally close the pool, they did so without cleaning any leaves or even remembering to turn off my auto fill. They told me after the fact cleaning is an up charge... which I would have gladly paid had they communicated that!! They just put the cover on and pulled the plugs out of the pumps... thank God they got that right. As you would imagine when I opened my pool it was a swamp. I've spent 2 days pressure washing and hoping I can get my pool back in shape... I spoke with Ross the owner and he has no intention of making things right. Please people, stay away!! An easy pass. While they show up they are overpriced for what you get. The fee is a flat fee so no matter how much/little chemicals they use it's still expensive. They broke our ionizer for the salt water pool and their "fix" was they just took it off. read more

We started using Melone's Pool Service a couple of years ago when we needed a repair to the brick around our pool. They did a great job and we switched to them for all our pool maintenance needs. They provide great service and are very responsive and proactive if something is noticed that needs attention. I highly recommend them! read more

Avoid at all cost. Run, seriously. We used them for a few months and the pool was never in swimmable condition. They will damage your pool and equipment, my pool is somehow in worse condition now than when we hired Melones. I also asked them for more details in regards to quotes for a custom pool cover and never got a response. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH PEOPLE. THEY TAKE YOUR CARD INFORMATION BEFORE THEY FIX ANYTHING AND THEY BILL YOU EVEN IF THEY DO NOTHING. I have a spa heater that keeps faulting due to some underlying issue. I have had to replace a "fusible link" vent switch 3 times in the last six weeks. I called Melone's to come out and check. I told them the part that needed to be replaced before they could look at the underlying issue so that they could be prepared when they came out. When they did come out they had a fuse they went to replace which was unnecessary and when I told him the part that actually needed to be replaced was the fusible link he said "oh we'll need to order that". Why didn't you order it before you came? They charged me $142.50 for that. I told the guy I really would like this fixed ASAP. He said they would have someone back out. I called the next week. They didn't have me on the schedule. They said it would be another week. In the meantime I replaced the part myself so they could come check the underlying issue. I was upset that I would now have to pay for another service call before they could even tell me what the repair costs would be. When I asked for a partial refund of the initial service call the vice president said they would not help me at all. read more

I had my pool resurfaced this year by Melones. They did a very nice job, on time, and on budget. I didn't realize what a difference this would make in the appearance and feel of the pool. If I had known how good the surface smoothness would feel on the feet, I would have done it much sooner. I would recommend Melones to anyone. Great job. read more

I close and winterize my pool every winter because my pipes tend to freeze; which has been a very expensive repair here in the past. Upkeep on the closed pool requires only a minimal of service - normally once per month until it opens again in the Spring. Melone's service manager came out to bid on cleaning my pool. He told me that in order for Melone's to "put their name on my pool", they would require that the pool be in full operation all winter rather than closed. And of course, rather than reduce the twice weekly service and associated costs to just once a month during the winter, he said that they would require to continue to clean it twice a week throughout the dead of winter as a requirement of their bid. Despite my further inquiry, he gave me no other explanation about why my pool should be open during the winter other than what I assume to be his opportunity to bill for twice a week service. Therefore, I can't help but feel that because of this, (and for a few other reasons), his objective was to hustle me. read more
