Thai massage is a deep tissue massage where they hold onto bars mounted to the ceiling and use their feet to get extra pressure. I love firm pressure so this felt amazing. Sophia was incredible. It was easily one of the best 3 massages I've ever had. The other two were in Africa and Peru after hiking the Inca trail. If you love firm pressure you have to treat yourself to this fantastic massage style and I whole heartedly recommend Sophia.

There are…read moreonly half walls that don't go to the ceiling- so she was walking out and greeting customers- one of the times she walked to the back for a long time, maybe 3 or 4 minutes. My sister got a massage at the same time and her masseuse used 1 hand the whole time and left the room for 5 minutes- also the worst massage she's ever experienced. And we have had a lot of massages. They were also talking to each other during the massages since the ceilings didn't go up.

I was lucky-they had an opening and I snatched it right up. I love an easy website for booking and AshiBar has it! I checked in and was taken back to my room right at the appointment time. After a brief consult with the massage therapist, my massage started about ten minutes later. It ended right on time at 4:50, so it ultimately was only 40 minutes, not 50. Oh well. The massage itself was fine-I left feeling relaxed and better than I had when I went in. Although there were a few little things that could be improved upon such as the full 50 minute massage like I mentioned. I also noticed that the room was mostly silent for the majority of the massage until nearly the end when music started to play. It would have been nice to have that music the whole time. I also felt like the price was a bit steep-$85 for 40 minutes. I've had massages elsewhere for the full 50 minutes for less money. It was a good experience, but I'm not sure it was the best I've ever had.
