So when it did I called my home warranty company, Cinch who also is awful, to send them back out. They came out and said oh my equipment won't fit we will send them a report. A inept crew showed up to replace a hot water heater and said they could not do the job, that another crew was going to be sent out and the company would be in touch, No other crew showed up, no one reached out from the company, no one answers the phone or returns the many messages that I've left for them. They have not responded to American Home Shield's multiple messages, either. They have held me hostage for weeks as "equipment has been ordered so AHS will not send out another plumbing company to do the job until they hear from this possibly no longer existing company. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company for anything or accept them as a repair tech from a home warranty company. contracted by warranty company they sent a newbie (or someone who just didn't know what he was doing) to fix my leaking sink. The technician was in my house for 10 minutes, tightened the pipe then submitted pictures as done. Less than 60 days later, I had the exact same problem happen again. When inquired about it to warranty company, they stated I had to start another claim because it had been over 30 days. They sent same company! Melton plumbing sent a new technician out after I voiced the issues and previous experience to management, the new tech inspected my pipes for 10 minutes to say that the seals need to be replaced and SHOULD HAVE been replaced when the technician came the first time, he took one look at them and immediately said they were no good when the other technician never took them out, just pushed them down with a screwdriver and tightened up the pipes. He even showed the seals to me to see how damaged they were. I am not a plumber so I had no clue any of this should have happened with the first technician. I contacted warranty company for a refund of the first claim fee and they told me no. I contacted melton plumbing management and was told the owner said no to the refund also so now I am out of two claim fees for a job that was not done right the first go round and neither company wants to acknowledge and take accountability. Yes there are policies but fraud is real also. Melton plumbing is doing fraudulent work and FAHW is still contracting them after knowing this. It's not fair that a customer have to keep paying for claims because Melton plumbing technicians are just temporarily fixing issues so you will have to call in another claim later! read more

American Home Shield dispatched Melton Plumbing to fix a leaking pipe in my ceiling. While they were investigating the issue, they cut into the ceiling, revealing some black mold. During their cleanup, they used a shop vac with no bag or filter which resulted in moldy drywall dust being blown throughout the lower floor of my home. Their techs also did not come with any tarps to use while cutting and had to ask to use mine. I immediately notified melton plumbing who said they would pay for mitigation. I got a mold mitigation company to come in the same day to place an air filter and to test the mold. Once it was confirmed to be stachybotrus (black mold) and confirmed that it had been blown into the air, I got a quote from the mold company and sent it to Melton plumbing. The bill came to just over $2,000 I did not even try to recoup the cost of vacating my family for a few days. It has now been months and Melton plumbing has repeatedly given me the run around and refuse to give me any details on when or how they intend to reimburse me for the damages. The owner has been extremely rude, going as far as suggesting I'm lying and hanging up on me. In the meantime, I am still stuck with a hole in my ceiling and am out $2,000 thanks to their horrible service. read more

Horrible. Bryan showed up to fix my shower cartridge. He said he would order the part and let me know when it came in and would call me to schedule installing the new cartridge. No one called me for a week so I called. After leaving several messages in a few days span Kayla finally answered. She scheduled me for an appointment. No one showed up or call me to reschedule. I called and went straight to voicemail. I called a few more times and they scheduled me for another appointment. Bryan didn't show up. After that I called another plumber which came over and also concluded it was the cartridge. He drove over to Home Depot got the part and viola my shower was fixed all in a span of 2 hours. Melton plumbing is contracted through American Home Shield and came out due to my water tank leaking. The plumber called the insurance company and told them my water tank stopped producing hot water and whatever else so that I can get a new tank. Then he told me I had to pay $1935 to update the pipes. I just had the water tank replaced 7 years ago and everything was updated then. We went back and forth about it but they said they needed to bring it up to code. I got a second opinion and both companies stated it would be a simple repair because they only need to replace the tank due to the pipes being up to code!!! They also informed me the water tanks for contractors were not as good as the quality you get for using a real plumber. I took the buyout option and AHS is paying me to find a plumber and do the repairs. Judging from the price Melton gave it looks like they were trying to get paid twice, once by the insurance company and then by me. The $1935 price quoted is the amount a new installation would cost out of pocket. read more

If I could give this business a zero star rating I would. My home warranty provided them with me. The first and only plumber that came out was at my house for over 3 hours. He kept having to call Jasmine on the phone to have her explain to him what to do because he was so unsure. He went to Lowe's twice to get the same part (because the first time he put it on upside down) and thought it was a faulty part. Jasmine is telling him over the phone what was wrong with it. How would she even know she isn't at my house nor was on a video chat to even see. They just try to SCAM you out of money. Jasmine told me I might have to pay 700 out of pocket to get this repaired. How can she be confident with telling me what was the problem if her techincan couldnt even tell her what was broke. She was just making stuff up over the phone. Finally at the end of all this her technician told me he only had 3 weeks of experience in plumbing prior to being hired and was only employed with them for 4 weeks. I tried multiple times to get ahold of them as well as my home warranty company tried multiple times to get ahold of them for multiple days. They do not answer calls or emails. I just purchased a house with a home warranty and when my hot water heater started to leak Melton Plumbing was called, they never came to my home but did a video diagnostic over the phone, water heater was only 5 years old so manufacturer would replace tank for free, warranty company would pay for labor but Melton wanted an extra $2,500 to do modification! James came to my home due to water spigot leaking. When he arrived his replaced a part and told me the bib needed to be replaced due to the pipe freezing and quoted me $600. I mentioned I wasn't paying that because I didn't pay that amount to get it installed. As this was under home warranty, he told them it was frozen pipes so they didn't cover the charges. I have since contacted my plumber and low and behold, the pipe NEVER was frozen and busted, I'm fact all he needed to do was replace the washers inside and all would have been good. But now, the part he replaced wasn't 1. Not put on properly and 2. Was not the correct part. So since he did that I have now come more out of pocket. I placed an order thru HSA, my home warranty company, and they sent Melton. My complaint was that I didn't have any hot water in my shower. The tech told me that my water heater was from 1992 and would need to be replaced. I agreed but then I was told that the warranty only would replace the water heater but there would be $950 out of pocket. I agreed to that. I tried to take a shower that evening and it still had NO HOT WATER!! I called the warranty company on Thursday night and they sent an e-mail. I then called Melton the next day and got their voicemail. No response!! Called again on Monday morning...got their voicemail again...NO RESPONSE, AGAIN!! Called a third time at 3:45...guess what? My home warranty company sent this company. They said AHS would not cover the stoppage in our kitchen. I was quoted $350 (a discount from $450 because we had to pay AHS an additional $100 for the issue) to hydro jet the kitchen line. I waited 5 days for them to come back for the hydro jetting. When they showed, they wanted payment up front and told me they did not have the hydro jet equipment and would cut my pipes to clear the stoppage. They cut 4 different pipe sections and then used couplings to fit them back together. They ran water in the kitchen without the p-trap connected and they left the back gate open after they ran each section of pipe through the outside spigot. I'm furious with the cost especially since I did not get the quoted service. I also have a new noise from behind the kitchen sink (in the wall) that was not there before. Horrible!! read more

First off they didn't fix the issue and their tech unplugged our sump pump to use his equipment so on Thanksgiving day we had a nice flood in our entire basement. Now the owner was sure quick to come take pics to cover his behind but they were supposed to come out to fix the problem and despite me taking off work they did not show both times. I had two guys, Nate and James, come out to fix a whole home blockage, and they did fine. However, I cannot recommend Tom Melton Plumbing to anyone because of the lack of organization at the administrative level. I was told I'd get a call about my appointment being scheduled, and I didn't. I did receive a text about it, but that wasn't until nearly 11:00 the night before. They give a window of about 4 hours in which you can expect them, if they don't just say "between 8:00 and 4:00" as if you have nothing else going on in your life. Then I received a few messages day-of saying the schedule would be pushed back a few hours. I get it, I'm not the first job of the day and things happen. Then they tried to reschedule me to the next day (reminder, I can't use any drains in my house for 4 days now) after my guys already called me day-of and said they'd be there. I called immediately to tell the office that wouldn't fly, and they said someone else wanted to pick up the job. Great! Except the name they told me on the phone (Anthony) was different than the one they texted to me literally a couple minutes later (Charles). And, lo and behold, my guys Nate and James show up like they were supposed to in the time window they said they would. I guess the main office can't keep track of their guys. They installed the new cleanout and did a good enough job from what my untrained eyes can tell, but weren't able to unclog my drains (through no fault of theirs). Tom Melton wanted me to wait until Friday (which would be 6 DAYS of not using my drains, by the way) to get someone with a camera out. I had a putrid smell coming from my garbage disposal. I saw that it was badly rusted. I put in a request to my Home Warranty company & they sent Melton plumbing 2 days later. My serviceman was Brian. Contrary to the many of the comments here, I was highly satisfied with the work that Brian did. He did warn me, and called the warranty company in front of me, that the Warranty Company would only pay for the replacement if it was broken. The phone call confirmed what he said. I did not want to wait until I had an awful leak that would cause other damage in my kitchen and wanted to get rid of the horrible smell. Brian was honest and did a great job replacing my disposal. They never showed up after my wife was home from work waiting per the scheduled time they gave us of "between 8AM - 4PM". Does that sound familiar to anyone out there?! If I could give a zero I would. They were supposed to arrive between 10 and 2 last Friday to take a pipe out of our gas line. At 12:30 they emailed saying they wouldn't be there til between 2 and 4. Guy showed up at 3:20 (I've now been waiting 5 hours) and all he did was take pictures and call his boss before he left saying he couldn't get it approved right then even though they knew the issue ahead of time. He said we likely wouldn't hear anything til Monday. Well Monday came and went and we heard nothing. After deciding to go with another company (EcoPlumbing, they're great) we finally heard back on Wednesday from our warranty company saying they approved the request from Melton. I'm sorry but waiting 6 days to fix a gas line issue is unacceptable. Melton never called me or my wife to request access to the home for the work either (which we no longer need) but told the warranty company that they had been out two times. Do not go with Melton if you can help it. Terrible customer service and communication. After dealing with a pipe backup issue for almost a year and two other plumbers, John and Tom were initially able to begin the correct diagnostic process and start formulating a solution that will likely fix our issue once and for all and will likely be less costly and less destructive than what was originally stated as needing to he done. After that it all went downhill. This was a company assigned by our home warranty. They sent Zach, a different plumber out to do another set of diagnostics. During the visit, Zach had to pull our toilet. When he re-seated it, he left it not level, rocking all over the floor and causing damage to the flange in the process. When I attempted to reach them to have Zach come out and make it right, he cancelled the service call on his own, without telling me or anyone in his company. They sent out yet another technician who said she could not fix what he had done and it was clear he had damaged the flange. After this visit, the company ghosted us. I left message with them, no return calls. This is supposed to be a warranty job and even our home warranty was not able to get in touch with them. After 5 calls to the warranty, a new service call with them was initiated and they, once again, did not show up. We have transferred our issue to a new plumber and will never ever recommend this company to anyone again. If I could give negative stars, I would. read more

**To those of you who are having similar issues, you can always request that your warranty company file a complaint against this contractor.  You can also file your own complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB).*** Melton plumbing came to install a new water softener which ended being the wrong size. We were promised the plumber would be back that same day with smaller softener to install. No plumber returned and we received no phone call. Since the plumber promised to be back the same day he did not reinstall our old softener or refund us. After 3 weeks of calling Melton Plumbing, we had no refund, no water softener installed, and Melton plumbing stoped returning our calls. We had to file a BBB complaint before we were finally refunded. After our warranty company saw that Melton Plumbing was not contacting them or us, they allowed us to go with our own outside contractor.  We contacted Korrect Plumbing, and they had a replacement water softener in stock, and they installed it in less than a week.  They were amazing!  We would absolutely recommend them! I have never dealt with a business, before Melton Plumbing, that did not attempt to correct an error, and when confronted, lied to cover it up. On other review sites, the owner repeatedly refuted our negative reviews with flat out lies. I suspect he will do the same with this Yelp review. read more

After I waited for them the day before from 8 am being told it would be to me between 12-4 . at 4;30 he was on his way...at 7;30 swore he had been to my house. The following Day they Showed at 8pm...after they got approval from the insurance company said it would be 3 days before I would have a Water Heater.
