I've been to many different eye care professionals over the years and this place is one of my favorites. It's located in a shopping plaza so there's plenty of parking in the area and easily accessible from Route 1. The staff are really nice and accommodating with having to reschedule appointments. My eye has a weird curvature and Dr. Meltzer was very patient about letting me try multiple different pairs for extended durations until we found the one with the best fit. My only gripe would be that I wish they had some more modern diagnostic equipment, but it's not a deal breaker. Overall, I feel very comfortable with their level of service and I will probably continue coming here in the future. read more

While I think Dr. Meltzer is a good doctor, I've been taking my family there for 11 years now and the service has gone down in the dumps. Every encounter I've had with Tanya, the self proclaimed new office manager, has been distasteful to say the least. I can ask the same question 3 times and get 3 different answers. I went to pickup my sons glasses today for which I left a deposit on. She tells me that they no longer have the glasses and are not willing to refund me any amount or reorder. I ask what level of recourse there is and she tells me none. I ask where is this policy WRITTEN or where did I sign, she says it isn't and I never signed acknowledgement. I ask to leave a message for the doctor and she tells me - No. In my years of customer service, I've never told a customer no without reason. Last time I went for contacts for myself, I was sick for my Follow-Up contact check and notified them as such. The same Tanya advised that I would need to start the process over and pay for all new eye exam. The time before that, my insurance gave me a list of what covered for glasses. Guess how many stories I was given. What's sad is that she does this to others and gets away with it because people don't know they have rights. read more

Dr Meltzer himself is great, extremely thorough and will explain everything to you, you can tell he really cares about his patients, however the front staff is extremely rude and takes forever. Have been sitting here for 2 hours now. Someone was supposed to come and give me my contact lenses and already been waiting another 20 minutes. I just want to go home ! read more

If I could make this review NO stars, I would but in all fairness, Dr. Meltzer gave a decent eye exam. My complaints with this practice are all directed towards his office staff. I was prescribed progressive glasses for my first time ever wearing glasses and knew there would be a learning curve for adaption, but each and every time I returned for adjustments I was told to "give it more time" which I did. I was also told that if I couldn't adapt to the "recommended" progressives that I would be entitled to make one change to the lenses at no charge within a months' time. The staff always stated they "didn't want to go down that road" so I did my best to adapt, but unfortunately couldn't. After 3 weeks I returned to make a "complimentary" (their exact words) follow up appointment to see what could be done with the $300. plus (after insurance coverage) glasses that needed to be changed. I was given an appointment and was told it would be covered. When I showed up for the appointment, I was greeted with "no this visit isn't complimentary because you waited too long to return". So basically I addressed the problem within my 30 day window, but was given an appointment outside of that window by their staff and was left high and dry with glasses I can't use! Very POOR customer service is an understatement! I very rarely write reviews, but this situation was extremely out of line for a health care professional. Apparently my ability to see clearly was not their concern at all!! Shame! That being said, I took my prescription to Lens Crafters and was fitted for a pair of glasses that I can tolerate better. It's unfortunate that I wasted my eye insurance benefit in Dr. Meltzer's office and had to pay for the new pair, but Lens Crafters were very understanding of my situation and helped me out with every discount they could. read more

I had an early morning appointment everyone that worked there was late.Dr. was 1st to arrive offered no apology(thought that was rude) mind you I received a phone call remaining me of my early appointment. Did not go over what my insurance covered with me . Actually no one there had any sort of professional knowledge about them .the Dr was good on his exam.They need a new staff there people that know whats going on I also felt the staffs attire were all very sloppy. they looked unkempt like with no pride. As it gets later the smell from Chinese restaurant next door will kill you. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! read more

Horrible customer service. Needed new glasses adjusted but even though they were open, it was only manager present. First I was told someone would be in around Noon. Came back an hour later and still no one present. And was told "they weren't sure where he was". How is that possible? How do you run business this way? This is why people go to places like Lens Crafter! read more

I've been going here for years, the best the doctor can do to correct my vision is give me 2 different prescriptions. I wear contacts but have to wear glasses over them to drive and readers to read. It's difficult, but I manage it because what choice do I have? But what really prompted me to write this review is that the bifocals I paid $600 for 2 years ago and wore about 7 times have a completely warped lense coating they won't do anything to repair them unless I pay even more! I only wear them when I absolutely can't wear my contacts, such as going for medical procedures. They don't stand behind their work and don't even want to discuss helping you unless you pay even more. The glasses were kept in their case inside my house, not left in a hot car or direct sunlight or anything like that... But even if they were worn in sunlight I think this would have happened anyway. But because I don't wear them often and didn't notice the defect sooner, they are now garbage. $600 I didn't have in the first place completely wasted! read more
