I recently had a procedure performed at the MelvilleSurgical Center by Dr. Jay Youngerman, of Long Island ENT. The Melville Surgical Center stall were all patient-focused, polite, friendly efficient but took all the time needed to answer any questions and reassure the patient, The C-19 procedures were enforced but that created no undue delay or lace of personal or professional service. The facility was super clean, bright, and gave off a welcoming appearance once you entered. If the need arose O would not think twice if I had to go back to have another procedure performed in this facility. read more

Great experience! The facility is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. All members of the staff from registration, to Mark RN in holding pre-op room, to the surgeon Dr. Kerker, to the OR staff, to the anesthesiologists Dr. Hock and Dr. Rappa, and to the discharge nurse Gail, all were helpful, friendly and professional. I've had two eye surgeries at the Melville Surgery Center and both times I found the staff to be proficient, courteous, helpful and definitely friendly. Everyone there, not just a few. No one makes you feel rushed or that your questions are irrelevant. Everyone ensures that you are comfortable and understand exactly what they are doing. Went in for back pain and leg never pain DR ROUFIEL AND ENTIRE STAFF were just so professional and kind from the moment I signed in to all the nurses helping console me for reasons that had nothing to do with procedure. The staff here is a mix of old nurse ratchet types and brand new out of school nurses. Sadly the newer nurses need to take a course in customer service and how to not talk crap about the newbie nurses. The place is super clean and very efficient at moving things along. The do fail to communicate to you their billing practices which is why they got a three star from me. They tell you that they take all insurances. Which they do but at an expense to you and your ability to use out of network services in the future with your insurance companies. When I called them about this and spoke with the office manager she was quick to tell me "well you signed the paperwork there is nothing I can do". They truly are not transparent with how they bill people and their insurance companies. So, buyer beware! read more

While, I had 2 surgery performed in the Melville surgical center, averaging less than 30 mns. each . In both cases they acted less that honest with their racket of a billing, which led to multiple unnecessary phone calls, mails and even insurance disputes. While both my insurance and the Melville center confirmed that this was in network services. They billed me out of network, costing me nearly $7500 more, the day of surgery, or else it was going to be cancelled. Further more they charged $4800 for fees that were never revealed before hand, none related to the surgeon nor anesthesiologist...but facility and nurse services... Even if these are fees have not been met by the annual employer insurance maximum deductible. One must know in advance the fees to be assumed by the patient in total, to agree or refuse the service vs. the ludicrous forms patient must sign that they will be liable Why is the medical field is the only field where 100% of the fees are hidden, until after you receive the scheduled services and they hit you like a brick with 1000s of hidden fees, worse then buying a car, which give you the option to walk away.. How would you like to get a hidden bill of $1000s from any provider, after they quoted a service fee and the services rendered. You try to fight it any further, if the insurance does not want help...you might as long retain a lawyer before going to a surgery. This is nothing more than professional racketeering, purely and simply. read more

This is urgent care for surgeries. Doctor owned so.... Waiting room is small though parking is ample. You walk in and as you go to the desk you see a sign on the door to go back that tells you "due to patient privacy no one is allowed back in pre op or recovery unless your child is a minor" and all valuables must not be brought in. So no cell phone, no family, not that they could fit anyway in the small bays. Nothing to do but twiddle your thumbs for an hour. Then they ask if I brought my inhalers with me (I have asthma). No because you said we couldn't bring *anything* and my family took it and they left to get food (there's nothing there but a coffee machine) since they can't stay with me, so now I can't get them. Poor. No sedation until you're on the OR table and strapped in and restrained. My anesthesiologist didn't tell me he was putting it in and all of a sudden I started to feel dizzy and got very scared. He also was unable to intubate me despite having a scope and being warned a guided intubation was needed. So my surgery had to be canceled. All in all a lousy experience though nurses were very nice and competent as was the front desk staff. But really surgery needs to be done in a hospital, such a place really shouldn't exist. Insist on a hospital with more facilities and more and better qualified anesthesiologists read more

I went in for my first "real" surgery. The place is tucked away right off of 110. I was taken within 10 minutes of my scheduled arrival time. I was greeted by a nurse who was very friendly. The whole staff is very laid back and make you feel comfortable. Even with some patients screaming their heads off. The anesthesiologist was fantastic. All I remember is "You will be feeling sl. . . gone". I woke up in the outpatient room and within 45 minutes was in the car and on the way home (could have been longer, still groggy). The whole outpatient surgery procedure took 6 hours door to door. The recovery. . . don't ask. But they did their jobs very well, everyone. Each person played their role to the tee. They followed up the day after, AND the next day. Great experience besides the recovery which isn't their fault obviously. If I have another surgery, I hope to come here again. read more

most companies allow you to pay off your bill. as long as your making a monthly payment they leave you be. my bill is 404.31. i called to make a 50.00 payment. i was told i can only do a 3 month payment plan. if its not paid off they will send me to collections w a 25% mark off!!! this is not how to treat patients. if you have a co-pay or dedt avoid this place read more

Dina, Gail, Mary Ann and the rest of the crew and the doctors at this center are the best. they are very professional and have a sense of humor which is important to me. Even the women that admit are great. They are very efficient and appear to be organized at least with me they were. Theses ladies have a very calming effect. I was only there for three days but they see there fair share of needy problematic whining patience. That said they stay calm and professional and make sure that the patient is attended to. The place is very clean and overall it was just a positive experience all around. If I have to have an out patient proceeder again I hope that I can go back and deal with the crew from this medical center. read more

I've had several bad experiences and I arrived very apprehensive for my knee surgery. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel comfortable by the nurses and physician assistants. The anesthesiologist was very understanding of my anxiety and worked hard to allay my fears. Afterwards, the recovery nurses were beyond accommodating and empathetic. Christine was amazing and made sure I was comfortable and thoroughly explained all the aftercare. Best experience during a difficult time and hope if I ever have to have surgery again, I will be able to have it here. read more

I can't say enough great things about Melville Surgical Center! Our 2yr old had her tear duct procedure done here last week and it went so well thanks to everyone here! I was very nervous about her being put under general anesthesia but the anesthesiologist was so caring and addressed all of my concerns and explained everything to me. The nursing staff was incredible from the moment we came in until we left. They not only did their jobs but also made it much more personal and really made a connection with us; which was amazing because I was trusting them with our little girl! Our daughter's doctor, Dr. Leibert is also an incredible doctor and I am so glad we trusted her and we can easily see why she chooses to work with Melville Surgery Center! Hopefully we won't need to ever come back, but if we do we will definitely come here again! read more

We have used this facility every 3 months for the past 5 years. Nursing staff is excellent, very friendly and professional. However, manager Juliette is rude and unprofessional, not allowing us to continue with necessary medical procedures because we are adhering to an agreed upon payment plan. Confused? So am I. She seems to lack understanding of the healthcare industry and how dangerous it is for patients to be denied treatments. Someone of her qualifications would be better suited for either the food service or housekeeping industries. read more

Horrible experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone EVER. My boyfriend gets surgery doctor tells me it's one hour long .. I wait 8 hours not one nurse or staff member tells me he is okay. Naturally I think something happened because it is a minor surgery. I finally said something to the front desk where the window was shut 24.7 and blurred so no one can see in. Other doctors were coming out saying first and last names and talking about their loved ones and surgical procedures they got.... apparently no one has heard of HIPAA. I am just in utter shock and disappointment that the doctor left because his shift was over... no one told me how my boyfriend was or what I need to help with or prepare for. read more
