Outstanding facility. Clean, friendly, and genuinely caring staff. 5/5 - we couldn't ask tor more.

We're disappointed with Memorial Manor. My 90 yr old mother was admitted there on a Friday night after a hip replacement surgery. I had my doubts to the success of her recovery due to not only her age but also that she has dementia. She had her first PT session on Monday morning which I was surprised and grateful that she was engaged in the OT session but not so much in the PT session. The therapist was great, Ms. Kathy. Ms. Kathy was able to complete simple stand-ups and single steps 9xs. I was excited and felt that this was proof that my mom had a great chance of being somewhat mobile again. The following day my mom's energy and willingness to participate in her sessions was disappointing but nevertheless the therapist persisted with the sessions. On the third day my mom was lethargic and showed behaviors not like her normal self. The OT therapist noticed her behavior and contacted the nurse. My mom was returned to her room. She had a low grade fever and her wbc had spiked. She was sent back to the hospital and was diagnosed with a severe UTI. After a week of antibiotics in the hospital she is ready for discharge. Memorial Manor has declined her request to return there for therapy. The reason, as stated in her letter from Memorial Manor was, "your needs cannot be met at this facility ". I understand my mom comes with roadblocks but when she arrived there the first day I was told by employees that "this is the best rehab center around ". My mom was there a total of five days. The first two days (weekend) there is no therapy sessions. She was diagnosed with a UTI on the fifth day. I don't want to feel that they are responsible for the UTI. I do feel that "the best rehab center around" didn't even give my mom a chance. read more

My 89 year old Mom was a patient at this facility. She was transferred from Memorial Pembroke in late January for rehab and we were expecting that to be at least for 3 weeks as was told by the social workers at the main hospital. We began getting discharge notices after the 6th day. She arrived late on a Friday evening so she did not get assessed by anyone upon arrival. On Saturday the PT person asked her if she wanted to do any therapy and of course My mom said no to that as she was tired from being transferred so late the night before. No PT on Sunday and On Monday got her first PT and second on Tuesday. On Wednesday we received her first Discharge order after only getting two days of actual PT. The aides PT and Nursing Staff and respiratory staff were Very good to Her and kept her well fed and very Clean. I cant thank them enough for the attention. Only one Glitch was a Young Flakey Respiratory Tech that walked in unannounced to my mothers room and opened the Curtain around my moms Bed while she was being Changed and Naked and Announcing he was there to do her Respiratory Treatment. I took issue with his Lack of Consideration for her privacy and just told him so and asked him to leave the room. When i went to the in charge Nurse to complain about his actions the Respiratory tech took issue with my complaining about what he did and began approaching me while I was leaning against to Nursing stations Counter and he was saying he didnt like my telling him to leave the room. While he was saying that he approached me even more and now I was feeling cornered and felt his action of approaching me so close was a bit hostile. I asked him three times to back away but he only came forward even more to which I said if he came any closer I was going to punch him. That when he backed off and went around, the nurses station and sat down in a chair. I finished telling the supervisor on duty about what he did in the room while my mother was being changed And then went to my mom's to see if they had finished prepping her for bed at night. Not 10 minutes later a policeman showed up because he called the police and they escorted me out of the building. The next day, when I went to see my mother, I was told I was not allowed in the building or to see her. The management staff, instead of protecting my mother's right to privacy as per the patient bill of rights that is posted on every wall in every room instead chose to defend this employee's actions and prevent me from spending time with my mother. The only time I could spend with her was for an hour each day, and it was outside on the bench beyond the doors of the facility. Management staff there is Rude and Disgusting and don't give a damn about the patient's mental well-being. Patients that have been in a facility like that need to have family members present and they chose to take away the right of my mother to have that available to her. So again, I would say that, for the most part, the whole staff from the nursing, the Techs and the Aides do a wonderful job with these patients, and I cant say enough about them and the treatment they provide to the patients but the upper management there is awful and the Social services personnel are cold and uncaring as well as condescending people! I give the working staff five stars, but the management and that one Respiratory Tech I wrote about get No star in my opinion! Thank you to all the staff that treated my Mother so well. Nurses are very sweet.Therapy is ok . The Administrator is a kind understanding empathetic person . The Case Manager is horrid and unprofessional to say the least. I coukd say more of her but she will know exactly what I am saying. I rec a call two hrs prior to tell me my mom is discharged. Not a vm not a text. She turned discharge in the morning of stating she told my mom that's 88 with severe cognitive decline 4 days prior yet said nothing to me or nurses . I had to run to pharmacy grocery etc as my mom can't be left alone and it's only me. nurse manager found out when u dI'd. This woman is in the wrong field. No comoassion no time for appeal yet the admin offered to let her stay in his dime. As my mom was packed and transport ready I was grateful for the offer but declined. read more

I brought my mom here to visit her good friend that is in the middle of rehabilitation. My mom's friend raves about the food. You share 2 to a room and there is plenty of space. Each patient gets their tv. If your roommate is quiet, you will be able to rehabilitate in peace. If you have a loud room mate, well, that's another story. read more

This place is uneven at its best. Nursing service is generally slow and and not respectful of the needs of the patients. Patients are often times neglected. and their pleas are often ignored .Language is a problem due to he hiring of nurses from Haiti whose English is not the easiest to understand .Many times the nurses will just walk away from you when you ask the a question or ask for help.The rehab facility is excellent and people are treated very well there. So an A for the rehab and a c-- for the rest of the facility. P.S. the food can be both good and bad. The place is well kept and pleasant to look at. But a good deal of care needs to be improved to be a better facility read more

A family member of mine came here after an injury and subsequent surgery, and the care was exceptional. The nurses and therapists were all very effective in making sure everything went smoothly, and there weren't any lapses in care that we've seen occur in other facilities that family members had been to in the past. I spent a good amount of time visiting, so I was able to see what the meals looked like and overhear the care they gave other patients. Overall I'd say the meals looked pretty good, and even surprisingly good on the weekends when they served things like salmon. Not hoping to be a patient here at any point, but if I needed a rehab facility I'd come to this one myself. read more

If you are reading this because you have a family member who needs skilled nursing and rehab. I also read these reviews and sent my mom here for almost a month. Every aspect about Memorial Manor is efficient. The standard of medical care and the doctors are awesome. The customer service was incredible. Rehab - There was a gem therapist named Catherine who took care of my mom and all her patients like they were her own mom. Occupational health same. Nurses, Cnas, one better than the next. A couple minor complaints in a month sure but none worthy of mention. People like Catherine, Willy and so so many more make this place amazing. They took such good care of my mom the food was good most days and every person just seems like they like their jobs. We are so greatful to everyone at the Memorial Manor for the care my mom got. Just a superior place. As advertised. read more

First, I would rate the physical therapy department top notch. 10 stars out of five! Love them. Occupational therapy I would give 3.7 stars. Not that friendly and somewhat critical, but they meant well. Second, I absolutely hated this facility. The nurses were cruel and largely unresponsive. Some of them cared deeply and were very good people and others couldn't have cared less. They should've gone into another profession. I had a very bad stay here and thank God it's over. My mother stayed at this facility from October 18, 2024 to November 15, 2024. She was in room 221 bed 2. Diddy, our case manager at Memorial Hospital in Pembroke helped us locate my mother to this facility and we are super grateful for her assistance. The staff at this facility, Memorial Manor, is outstanding. The nurses, nurse' aids, physical therapists, occupational therapists, their assistants, nutritionist, were exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and kind. The food was amazing. My mother enjoyed the meals, which were always fresh and of excellent quality. I can not speak highly enough about the care my mother received during her time at Memorial Manor. The daily list activities by Maria and her group were encouraging. The therapist went above and beyond to ensure my mother felt comfortable. Special thanks to Dorothy, Rebecca, Keisha, Alba, Deanna, Myriam, Catherine-PT, Claudia, Luz, Kalila-OT, Maria-Activities, Whitney, Tara, Ruth and in the Nurses' front desk, Barbara, Annette. I can't even give this place any stars. My grandmother who has dementia/alzheimers was sent here by Memorial healthcare after needing more medical care due to a recent UTI. The staff had no idea how to handle "memory care" patients. In summary, they were abusive and neglectful. We found bruises on her that were not there the day before, we found her drugged, and sitting in pee and feces. We finally had her moved to another facility who discovered in 24 hours she was still suffering from an UTI and an additional infection she contracted while at Memorial Manor called VES. Plus she was constipated from all the sedative drugs they gave her. Essentially Memorial Manor could have killed our grandmother. Please do not let the hospital transfer your loved one here if they are unable to advocate for themselves. read more

I called the main desk to be transferred to the nurse station, only to be disconnected. My friend can call out....but is unable to received call. Her family is in California and worried sick. Here We Go Again I come to this Hell Forsaken Nursing facility, that my Wife have no choice but this one to go to,the Nurses is not coming to the room to assist with using the rest room , I walks in the room she was in tears, earlier she asked for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the head of nursing told her no she will see, and never returned these people makes a lot of money to do Nothing, and while my wife was crying to use the rest room it was four nurses at the nursing station standing around said they saw her calling, and was sending some one!!!! Please Keep your love ones Away from this place I have to come here everyday to make sure she eats and get treated with care, I made a Complaint and they flipped it around and said I threaten someone, So I took my complaints to Yelp, to warn you all , thank you! read more

Memorial Manor - Skilled Nursing Near Me - Pembroke Pines, Florida

I thought my mother's stay at Memorial Manor Rehab would be beneficial but as it turns out, it was not. She was there to recover from a total right hip replacement and it wasn't until 2 days before her discharge (a total of 22 days), the therapy department started her walking up and down a few steps/stairs. They were told right from the start (by me, several times) my mom has to go up 4 steps into her home but they neglected to make a note of it. They refused to allow me inside the therapy room to observe my mom's progress. My mom has had severe emphysema for the last 5 years (at least) and has not been able to walk any distance without intermittent stops. The therapy dept. claimed my mom was walking between 40 and 60 feet by the end of her stay there. I told them unless they came up with a miraculous cure for severe emphysema and COPD, that was completely untrue. To be fair, there were a handful of very nice employees. A few RNs, several respiratory therapists and several nurse's aides were very nice. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms all had a terribly musty, smelly odor. Most of the food was not enjoyable, but that's to be expected. I chose Memorial Manor because I love Memorial Hospital ... and Memorial Manor was very close to where we live. If I had it to do over again, I would most likely still select Memorial Manor but I would not allow the therapy department to treat my mom unless I am present to make sure they are doing their job. read more

The management and nursing staff is abysmal. My MIL was supposed to be released on a Monday once final tests were completed. By Tuesday we were told they were waiting for a doctor to go over the results. Still waited on Wednesday and were told it would happen by 9 am Thursday. Finally by 2:30 paperwork was completed BUT there was a note that she was released by family request. This place is a Medicare and Medicaid sponger! There are much better places and I hope ACA reviews their procedures. read more

This is one of the few,very few non-profit Nursing Facilities in South Florida. The aids really care. They go out of their way to provide quality care. The doctors visit the patients at least once a week. The place and the patients are kept very clean. The physical therapists try to make session as pleasant as possible. Some people will not make any effort in physical therapy. This will of course result in poor out-come. The food is better than average institutional cooking. The patients are given choices of food. read more

It is a shame that Memorial puts their name on this place. After having such a wonderful experience with the staff at the hospital...and then to take my dad here. If you try to ask the nurses any questions - they look at you like you are bothering them. The response time for aides is poor and again act as though you are putting them out to do their job! As I have found consistent with the standards at Memorial Hospitals, the Manor is clean, with friendly staff. I never leave a family member alone, so my mother always had us to look after her needs. The food is awful, as is usual in hospitals, so we've brought in most meals, as much as possible. read more

The staff started off super friendly but then quickly fizzed out. Not sure how one doctor comes in once a week to see patients, but then ask the patients and not reading their charts.... clueless. Some of the staff seems like they care just not sure if this is where ending career nurses go to finish out. How do you leave a bed ridden patient pressing the help button for over two hours for medical help looking for their treatments? Seems like the staff not all, but most need help in bed side manor! Not sure if they need more help per patient ratio needs to be better 1O to 1 or 15 to 1 ratio maybe 20 to 1 might be to much, as the patients need more help then normal health persons. Tonight was the worse as they had to call 911 but not to there notice, but to my family members noticing some wasn't right. Not the trained medical person, but non trained person! According to the patient they felt that they would not made it though the night. Thank goodness my family member got there in time to visit or I could be telling everyone about death that could been avoid. Any questions I will be willing to meet or talk with any person about this place. Just truly upset with this place as I put my faith and trust in there hands to help my family member. read more

My aunt was recently a patient at memorial manor. I had looked at similar facilities in the area, and I have to say that memorial manor is not only beautiful outside, but inside is very clean. The staff was very courteous and competent including the nurses, the assistants,and the doctors. Anytime I had a question it was promptly answered and my aunt received great care. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone I knew that had a loved one that needed the care that memorial manor provides. My aunt also raved about the menu and the food. My mother has been in Memorial Manor during her recovery from a broken leg. The care she has received has been excellent. The facility is very clean and the staff members are professional as well as very caring. I appreciate the security at the front desk very much. The kitchen and dietary staff do their best to provide good-tasting food despite having to prepare many different meals under many different sets of dietary restrictions. I have been pleased with the efforts of the physical therapy and occupational therapy professionals as well. I am a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and I have taken care of patients in many different types of skilled nursing facilities and rehab centers over the past 20 years. Although no single center can please everyone all of the time, I do firmly believe my mother is getting the best possible care for her current situation, and I am so thankful she was placed into Memorial Manor over other surrounding facilities. To prospective families I would encourage you to keep an open mind when evaluating facilities for your loved one. Each situation is unique as is each patient. With that being said, Memorial Manor does an impressive job with keeping patients clean, safe, well-nourished and on the road to recovery. read more
