I liked how nobody came here because I was able to hear nature clearer. I've had no issues with any of these until recently. I am a woman. I decided to go and relax in the park by myself for the second time. The first time I came here a man parked his car and stared at me while I was sitting on the hill. I left quickly. Here's what happened the second time, about a couple weeks later: Thirty minutes into my sitting time an older man came and sat right next to me on a bench, which I thought was odd, so I just moved somewhere else. Why sit right next to me? This park is big. Then, a different man walking on the bayou kept staring at me but I had made myself comfortable on the grass and he left within a couple minutes. At this point I'm a little on edge and no longer relaxing, but I'm stubbornly committed to claiming this space instead of running away. I did end up leaving in quite a hurry because a THIRD different man (who I could clearly hear zooming down the street in a mobility scooter before reaching me) saw me, objectively slowed down, and did FIVE DOUBLE TAKES and was being so creepy!! All of these instances with different men happened within fifteen minutes. TLDR; If you are a woman and looking to relax in a park, I would not recommend this one for safety reasons.

Granted, you would probably be exhausted at the zoo unless you put a timer on like I do, so that we don't all have meltdowns, but I digress. But I am really happy to come across this play area. Was it weird walking up and down the rolling hills of the playground with a stroller? Absolutely. But would I do it again? Absolutely. I really love how they had a rubber ground for the patrons to walk on because I'm really sick of the wood chips. I'm not sure who started putting shards of wood under our children when they play, but I'm over it. We came here on one of the handful of nice weather days weekend down here in Houston. I'm not sure how hot the playground would be during the summer, because a lot of the material here is metal, but I would definitely check it out again!

Wilson Memorial Park, I frequent often, mostly because this is where my son's soccer team has been…read morepracticing since the beginning of time. Close to home, and it's quick to get to. The kids can let out the energy fast. My least favorite park of them all. Wilson Memorial has a public pool. I have never brought my children here, please let me know what you think of it. A pond surrounds the pool area. Home to the local ducks, which are fun to watch, and will chase you if they smell a morsel of food on you. Home to just as many turtles too, and they won't chase you no matter what you smell like. Sadly, also home to the litter left behind by the less considerate of our local parks and environment. The covered basketball area seems to be quite popular. We usually hang across the way, at the playground, on days that soccer isn't involved. I bring a blanket and lay out where the least amount of trash can be seen by the pond. Otherwise you will find us on the nice big soccer field with the rest of the team. They have been practicing here for years. The baseball field and soccer field are near each other. Parking is limited in this area. Arrive early, but if you miss parking here, there is ample parking between the playground and basketball area. Wilson Memorial Park could really use a track. Most importantly, the park grounds could really use some tender loving care. Sometimes even the ducks need TLC. I've seen some sickly ones because of the litter. I've made my complaints directly to park personnel. In all of the years we been coming here, we've never used the porta potties. If I or the kids gotta go, we gotta leave. They may have clean restrooms near the pool building, I just haven't bothered. Please keep our parks clean and green!

The park is located at 2811 Travis St. and is super convenient when it comes to parking, there's plenty of street parking around, and there's even a garage directly underneath the park (heads up, you do have to pay to park). The park itself is beautiful and well set up for events. There's a large stage perfect for live entertainment, a grassy hill that provides some nice shade and a place to relax, a small seating area, and even a kids' play zone. They host a lot of events here, but when there isn't something going on, the park is open to everyone to just enjoy. Overall, Midtown Park is a great spot whether you're coming for a festival or just want to chill outdoors. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Midtown area!

There is street parking that was easily accessible to the front of the gated park entrance. The wooden playground was large and had 2 sections for bigger kids & smaller kids. The wooden train was unique and many kids enjoyed exploring it. There weren't as many picnic tables. I didn't see any bathrooms. Our kids had a lot of fun and I especially appreciated the fenced in park to keep the kids safe. It's close to many shops like Cloud 9 creamery and Common Bond. I definitely plan to come back again.

I recently hosted a walk at this very park a few weeks ago and we had a great time. Today, I had a picnic and lavished in the wind, trees and the friendly people nearby. If you ever want to get away from the city & enjoy the peace and quiet, Stude Park is the place to go. I added a group photo of friends and I going for a walk at Stude Park! The pathway was wide enough for us to walk on one side of it without any hassle. Visit this park if you want to escape the city life while still being in the city--thank me later. A small playground for kids. Available parking in the lot as well as on the street. We had no issue snagging parking in the lot on a Sunday afternoon. While this wasn't my favorite park to visit, I recognize that it's got a lot to offer.
