My son enjoying his day at the skate park.

This place is awesome. Great park. Free admission. Clean bathrooms. A fenced park for the kids. Why has no one reviewed this yet? Oh wait, I get it. Open to the public, clean, family fun. These are all things that "hardcore" skaters rebel against. Oh well, they're missing out on a great park.

I went today as they have the Houston food bank here every Tuesday. When arrived at about 8:00 am i saw no cars but decided to enter to ask the security if they were going to have it, and as soon as he saw me he got extremely upset and told me to put my window down and then proceeded to insult and belittle me and ask me if i had eyes that "worked" i was in shock and nicely asked him if they were going to be doing the food bank and then told me if i didn't "see any cars waiting why am i asking stupid questions" i was in disbelief with his words and couldn't believe how he was talking to me i told him he didn't have any right to talk to me like that but he continued to talk to me like if i was dumb. Then when i was trying to drive away to get out he closed the gate on me and was trying to lock me in, at that point i was terrified and felt as if he was going to do something to me, as i was grabbing my phone to call the cops he noticed and quickly opened the gate and let me out. I am still shaking thinking about what happened and what he would've done to me if he never saw me pull out my phone. There is plenty of terrible reviews of this security guard on Google Maps i still can't believe this happened to me all because i went in to ask if they were going to be doing the food bank today. As a struggling mom that has been affected by covid-19 and rely on these food banks i am now terrified to go back to this place. The security guard was a short, fat hispanic guy that looked to be in his mid to late 20s. Please beware of him as this is clearly not the first time he has done something like this.

Honestly, I haven't looked at any reviews prior to posting... This is actually the first park I…read morejogged since stepping foot in Houston. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this park. Its always clean, no matter what time I come its clean!! I noticed they have a small vented in the middle of the park where folks can have gatherings and such occasions ... This is a pretty big park might I say... I believe they play soccer there daily. There is a playground for the kids. And Abigail stretch jogging area for folks to exercise. My first stopping ground "greenspoint"... I go back from time to take a walk when I'm in the area..

(Que VH1 theme) Best park ever!…read more So I found out this park is just north of Greenspoint and it is the bomb diggety! I has a really nice sand volleyball court that gets hoping after 5:30. There are lots of nice big trees to provide shade and the grass is sticker free. It's quite picturesque on it's own, well taken care of, clean, and most things are in good condition. Sure you'll get your occassional bum or two hanging out in close quarters, and yes the guy hanging around the pavillion did get arrested when I was there on Wednesday, but hey, that just means it's well patrolled and as long as you are minding your own business and with a couple other people, this place is great! I haven't been through much of the other parts of the park but I can spot a large water "park" area with the water that shoots out of the ground and there is a running trail that would be vicious to attempt any earlier than about 7:00 during this time of year. This park really gets going around 6:00 pm, people even bring out lawn chairs to watch the volleyball action. That does mean parking can be a bit hecktic but there is a Fudruckers Northwest of the park that is safer to park at. I guess I give it four stars for the safety factor, but that can be attributed to the overall area that you are in. I had flashbacks to DARE when I had to shag the ball a couple times and run barefoot through the grass - I was pretty sure I had and elevated chance of getting a used drug needle in my foot. But no worries, all is well :) This park is a diamond in the rough for sure!
