Interesting to see a skate park. It is pretty cool. Open till 10 pm saw many people of all ages come here with their skate boards. Gives a lovely skyline view as well. Looks really nice during sunset. Open to public. Did not use any of the amenities other than a quick short walk around, but the crowd that came in looked happy to have a place to practice and perfect their skating skills. read more

I used to skate here day in and day out when I was younger and I've used the restroom a couple times not too bad, you know normal skatepark skate smells, but this time...... 11/24/25 was the worst mf day to have to pee I was skating hot and exhausted had to pee, went in there and holy (pardon my French) it stank worse then a portal pottie in Arizona heat on a summers day after a big sweaty fat guy just took a mean one. Like man it was bad y'all so bad I had to make a review. They could at least have some spray in there or put sum to help with the Odor cuz that was foul.... read more

My kiddo is certainly a fan of this skate park! We've been a few times and he's becoming more familiar with the park and getting comfortable on the board. The park offers areas where any level of skater can come to learn or come to shred. The options are limitless. Th park seems to be monitored by a couple of teens (or very young looking twenty somethings). I was going to use the work "supervised," but there is less of that than there is watching. I've seen some pretty risky stunts and not a peep from the office. Also, there is a sign-in pad in the window of the small building you pass when you enter the park. I don't think I've ever seem the number of names on the list match the number of skaters in the park. I get the idea that it's skate at your own risk, but if you want to let us now who to reach in case your half pipe runs goes terribly wrong... We'll be back, because my kiddo like learning in the skate environment here. There are drink machines on site and I think they even take credit cards. read more

Joe Jamail was an attorney who won the biggest jury verdict of $10.5 billion. He and his wife donated much of the money for sports and recreation. But a skatepark was a last minute request. Even if you don't skateboard, this is a fantastic place to watch the up and coming athletes. Located along the cool, breezy, banks of the Buffalo Bayou, there is a unique playground located close by. There are covered spots to hold picnics and birthday parties. Parking is limited to street parking. read more

My kids loved this skatepark. Had lot of challenging courses for all skill levels. Its free to get in and they also require riders to wear helmets, which I thought was great. We don't live in Houston but next time we are in the area, we will definenatly take our kids back. They spent 3 hours there. read more

The acceptance of a 10 year old boy, ah my life is complete... I came here to take some action shots with my new camera. First thing when I got there was a small boy who said that's a sick camera yo, how many megapixels is that? Anyways. It is cool to know there is a place like this in town for kids to come and do something outdoors. I'm tired of all of these video games trying to replicate real life activities such as skate boarding, there's no replacement for reality. You ask why kids are obese? Because they are inside eating junk food and watching tv or playing games. The venue is very clean and has a decent variety of items to practice tricks off of. It seems like there was a person on duty to make sure the kids were using helmets. Lots of parents did come to supervise their kids but the majority were either dropped off or commuted here. There is a nice row of graffiti art as you enter. At first I felt weird bringing my camera but soon saw a few others out there. The skaters actually really like putting on a show for the photographers. I noticed more and more skaters coming towards me trying to pull off stunts. After being out there, it makes me want to grab a board and bust a 360 or whatever those things are called =P read more

This is something really neat and Houston unique you should see at least once. Especially if you have family visiting or you are in charge of a kid for a day and you have visited Dave & Busters, the Chocolate Bar, and you have run out of ideas already. Skate or Die!! Cowabunga, bro! This is such a great skate park! This place is located right off Buffalo Bayou Park. It's a large skate park, all covered in interesting shapes, forms and lines- all made from concrete and steel. There's lots of places to get your grind on, ollie all over, and half pipes to do your fakie 720 flipswitches on. There's a few huge half-pipes, with a band shell looking thing where you can do some serious tricks on! There's an area with smaller slopes and bends if you're more of a beginner skater. Helmets are required, and bikes aren't allowed. Pads are recommended. There's even restrooms available! Best part- it's FREE! Parking can be a challenge here, but if you come in from the park, there's lots of other places throughout the park to park. This skate park offers majestic views of the downtown area! It's such a beautiful park, and a great place to watch the skaters get their grind on. I'll certainly be back- I just need to bring my old Nash skateboard and work on my inverse kickflip. read more

A great park with an even awesome view of Houston DT. Lace up those DC shoes and get your ass to this park! Free to the public, but you must sign in to skate. You will find a wide range of skaters-- from kiddos, potential X-game wannabe's, and geriatric has-beens. They have deep bowls, shallow bowls, grinding rails, and ramps. There were many people just people watching and every now and then giving an "oOoO and ahhh" to the skating skills. There were also several birthday parties going on, which is such a great idea for the little ones. So come here to freshin' up on your ollies and kick flips! read more

This is a world-class skate park. This is an easily overlooked gem in Houston's parks and recreations system. Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this available to the public. Took my kids there several times - I'm not a skater, yet - they absolutely love it. The natural, my eldest (you put some wheels on it, he can ride it), disappeared as soon as we got there I didn't see him again for at least an hour - I think he approves. The rest of us were riding a snow-saucer and skateboards down the hill next to it - maybe a cardboard box will be in order next time. Ahmad S. gave a great review of the details, so I'll not cover them. I will mention that they have safety staff sitting around the park for when someone eats concrete - we've witnessed only a few so far, but they were addressed immediately and the kids were helped out of harm's way - very cool. I absolutely love this park. I even want to move from where I live just to be across from this great space. There is an amphitheatre, a skate park, bike rental, gift shop & even the amazing "cistern" that you can buy tickets to visit is under it. I love kicking around soccer balls and hanging out in the upstairs green space and also love taking pictures of downtown from the upstairs sitting area.... read more

This park isnt our 1st Choice but its ok. Park is downtown and parking hard to find. Its got a huge bowl in back and and other mid one on front side. There is flat surface with lil ramps too Design is not that great and scooters allowed here soo yeah..not Good combo. Dangerous. I never see staff out there either just hiding in front office. Currently parks under Renovation hopefully they make it better! read more

This place is so great! If potential could be built anywhere else it would just cause an obstruction! With the biggest cradle in North America! This place is concrete heaven. Lots of smart kids with pads. Once in a while you find a gem or an up and comer and it's a show.

it's pretty sweet to have a local houston skatepark. it's a pretty respectable concrete skatepark. not to mention that it's brought a younger scene inside the city for them to hang out. also if you're a photographer, it's a fun place to practice action shots or candids. it helps to have a good zoom or a sick fisheye lens for closeup railing. it's a place to bring the family that is'nt just sitting at the park or watching the trash float by in the bayou. but also you can take a nice romantic walk along the bayou just outside of the park. time to blow the dust off my board and try to be a kid again. read more

Great park can't ride rip sticks. Skate boards roller skates or roller blades only. We've been coming for a little over a year almost two and today we brought a rip stick. My son usually rides at home but insisted he bring it to the park. But all is well a young fella let my nephew use his board since we were down one. It's nice they share we will continue skating here read more

It is a great skatepark, my son loves it.until last night when his backpack was stolen with his iPhone inside. Enjoy the park, just leave ALL your valuables at home, unless someone is constantly watching your stuff. Don't forget to bring water! read more

Built by Grindline, one of the premiere skatepark builders in the world, this park rocks! I hail from Portland, Oregon-home of the greatest DIY skatepark in the world--Burnside. Additionally, Portland and Oregon itself has many many skateparks built by Grindline and Dreamland (the builders of Burnside) So how does this park rank? Let's break it down. Street section is large and wide open in all four direction. Street section has a ton of transition, some stairs, and plenty of benches and rails to boot. Best of all street section is seamless with rest of park. It flows nicely into a bad ass snake run with hips and pockets that ends in a cradle! The entire park can be circumnavigated on your board and you won't get bored. there are transitions everywhere! Ok, let's take a look at the pools. There are two extremely large pools to skate. First I'll talk about the kidney bowl. It's huge, for better or for worse, you decide. The transition is steep in the shallow but not deadly steep so dropping in is doable for even a beginner. There is a set of stairs you can carve over if you got the speed and the know how. In my opinion it possibly has to much flat in the pool could be slightly tighter for more speed. Plus there was a funky little part to the concrete that didn't get as smooth as should be, but its in the flat section so can be avoided easily. The coping is quit strange also- its made of pebbled concret? you might or might not like it Now for the grand-daddy of all pools- I dont even know how to describe it- it has every feature iv'e ever ridden except for a complete full pipe (Pier Park in POrtland has a beautiful one if your ever up there)--dropping is easy almost anywhere because there is so much withour vert. There is a huge huge wall maybe ten foot with no vert--its kinda the center of the whole bowl. It links the other sections together. There is a super nice square bowl- about 12 foot or so all the way around super fun and fast. You can pump over some huge as hell hips and skate into a bowl that will whip you into another bowl with a split level transition. Come out of that and hit the huge ass wall, bust a trick if you can and gather speed as you come into a huge ass half-pipe with little to no flat that leads you into the biggest craddle( yes another one!) i've ever seen--and I've seen a big one --go to BattleGround in Washington state if your up that way and have a blast! Well. I give this park 4.75 out of 5. Grindline makes killer parks. Just a bit funkier than the Dreamland parks but can accomodate every level skater and make you a better skater for skating there. great FREE place for people of all ages to come and watch very talented skaters (some even up in their years) perform some pretty impressive tricks. beautiful park. well kept. nice grassy area to chill on. open late and well lit if you don't like the heat. definitely one of Houston's jewels! Big thanks to wealthy Houstonians who give back to the city's youth in a smart and unique way. They need more of these in the inner cities of America.
