I asked if they carried 2 different items and they answer without even looking up from what they were doing. I asked if they can order it and one answered she can try to order it individually and put out a pen and paper for me to write my info down and quickly walked back to her computer not once making any form of eye contact. I always try to support small local businesses but I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

What a wonderful and unique shopping experience! The staff was so personable (without being intimidating or intrusive) from the minute we walked in. It felt like we had been friends forever. Our four young boys were with us and they were treated like family too. The sweet sales person stooped down to eye level to my youngest (age 3) and gently took the time to explain to him 'why' he should not touch the guitar that was propped against the wall (not just admonishing him for touching it - good teachable moment done with love and respect). Then she followed that up by giving him (and the other kids) a coloring book! What a darling thing to do! The store was covered in unique artwork, jewelry, accessories and finds you don't see in other places. I enjoy a colorful whimsical aesthetic, it was like walking into HAPPY LAND! And oh! my! gosh! The baby & children's clothes are to die for! What a perfect place to come for a gift! We learned about some new womens athleisure & womens clothing items she has in the works. I will be absolutely be back to check them out. They do carry an extensive collection of Meileg dollhouse items. This makes me wish I was 5 again. Our little ones were in wonder (as I was) taking in the experience of the store, but were very careful to look and not disturb. I know it's so difficult to keep a boutique going in this day and age were people want to buy everything online, but what would we do if we didn't get to actually see and enjoy these treasures in person any more? What fun would life be then? I think it's important to visit your local businesses and help out where you can. We learned Iva Style is also a woman owned business, and I commend her for making it through Covid. Hopefully the rest of the Artisans Alley will soon come back to life. It does look like its had a few hits but WE all carry some economic power to help bring these fun places back to their former glory. Its a perfect place to go have a girls day (my husband enjoys too) without having to drive all the way to Boerne or Fredericksburg. I would say that this just isn't the place for me, but I actually found some cute coasters for a friend's housewarming present and a pair of earrings for myself. By the time I got home, the earrings broke- I had to use krazy glue to get a gemstone back on, and then the first time I wore them, the post fell off the actual earring! It was children's quality jewelry with a grown-up $18 price tag. If I didn't live across the country, I would have gone back for a refund.

As with many craft stores, some things are excellent value and other things seem remarkably expensive. They have seemingly unlimited selection of COLOR ORGANIZED ribbon, flowers, adornments for mums and wreathes, supplies for making wreathes.... There's so much. I'm pretty sure my brain was glitching the entire time I was shopping. I ended up with an assortment of potential projects on top of what I already had to do. One review from 13 years ago degrades the overall rating for the Christmas Gallery. The old aged meaningless review from 2012 should be taken down or at least ignored.

They also carry zippers, buttons, and lots of other sewing supplies. The inside was clean and organized, which made shopping easy. We didn't really interact with staff much until checkout, but the male worker was kind and helpful. They have an amazing selection and I highly recommend coming here if in need for something specific. I was in such a celebratory mood and then the rudest employee came over and rushed us. My mother and I wanted to compare fabrics. We had taken one fabric to another part of the store to put another fabric side by side. Then we started to begin discussing measurements. This employee that came over said "are you buying the material or not because if not I have to put it back for other customers". Totally understandable we were very willing to put it back, but it's not what you say it's how you say it. He picked up the fabric we had. I let him know we are totally fine putting it back, but we were planning on buying some, we were just calculating measurements. He asked if we needed help figuring it out like he wanted us to hurry up, and I said no my mom was a math teacher, then he said well I'll put it on the table and you tell me how much you need, which again we didn't know. We were trying to do the math and weren't ready, that's whole reason why we were standing there! We are doing a huge project that needed some thought we don't want to get too much or too little since this store is an hour away from us. He took the fabric to the counter when we weren't ready and unfolded it. So we then were trying to figure it out at the counter which was so awkward because then someone got behind us in line. I was like why are you rushing us!? Don't you want to help the person behind us first? I looked at the employee and he was tapping his nails on the counter like he was annoyed. The whole interaction was just so rude. I know it doesn't sound like that much written down, the attitude was just so passive aggressive. I told my mom to gather her things so we could leave and discuss outside away from this man so other customers could be taken care of first and because I don't like people disrespecting my mom I needed to get out of that situation. I understand if this employee was about to go on his lunch, but he didn't have to interrupt us at all. He could have left us alone. We would have figured out the math and came to the counter when we were ready. He could have put back the material and said come to us when you are ready. Someone else could have rung us up. But no obviously this man can't read the room, doesn't have social skills, or customer service skills. Because of this I don't care how good the store is, I will not be back.
