If you are getting married, rest assured all of your married friends will tell you that your wedding day will go by so fast and be a complete blur, so having a video to re-live your day over and over again is a necessity. I had heard so many nightmare stories from friends and family about their awful videographers, so when it came time to plan my wedding, I knew that I had to do some serious research to find the right company. We had planned for a large wedding in January of 2021, but due to everything going on, we decided to have a smaller, more intimate wedding in January and our big party in November 2021. Ricky, John, and the whole team are outstanding! As soon as we saw their work, we knew we found the right guys to capture our wedding day. They had a crew consisting of three men videotaping our big day and I didn't even know they were there. The only time I knew they were there was when they approached us to take our interviews. We didn't feel uncomfortable having them there especially while my bridesmaids and I were getting ready. You would probably think they are pricey but it's well worth the investment. @Ricky - If you could not meet the terms of the contract due to your employees having COVID as you stated, then how did you film other weddings during this exact time-frame? As I was informed that it was your entire team that was sick. That does not sound very safe to me and very worrisome. Nonetheless, that is not even the true issue at hand (if you actually read my review thoroughly). I think a professional company (as you state you represent) should have "at least" informed me/your other customers waiting multiple months for their videos that you/your team will be delivering them very late due to the circumstances, which is completely understandable. My point is - it should not have taken me calling/emailing your team multiple times to find that out (because again they did not answer/respond half the time as well). You/your team should have been "proactive" and informed all of us that you are experiencing major delays in producing the videos. It is called "Common Courtesy." ***So for your reference, if you foresee major delays in delivering the promised videos to your clients in the future, you should probably contact the customer in advance as a common courtesy/nice gesture/heads up/being proactive. Instead I had to stay persistent in calling you guys to obtain an answer. It is amazing how nicely you talk about capturing these special moments etc. when you were not truly involved in my process whatsoever. From start to finish, you were not involved in my experience with your team (other than sending generic emails or invoices to ensure you got the money). AND again, how about you discuss the "rudeness" I experienced from your team then. You/your team should ALWAYS be kind to others/customers/clients/etc. But let's face the facts, you were interested in collecting my payment and calling it a day. You were the only vendor I hired that treated me like this - You/your team did not care about my feelings/the experience/etc. Your team literally said to me "We are done, goodbye" and continued to ignore my emails/calls/messages etc. Also, someone stated directly to me "I thought we are done here;" "What do you want;" etc. Just a very poor experience/mistreatment/lack of empathy/care overall. How professional is a company that ignores their clients for weeks/months and talks to them like that after giving them at least $5k. You can come back to me and say I was ignored because "we are busy filming weddings." Then, you need to hire an admin because that is also how you lose clients in the future with a lack of response/acknowledgment. However, I know the truth based on the rudeness that was shown to me throughout this entire process that you/your team just wanted to be done with me and thus, did not care to speak to me/respond to my messages. I was just a contract that you wanted to be done with and quickly move on from. That tells me you/your team could care less, which is utterly heartbreaking especially being in the Wedding industry. Regardless of any excuse you/your team has, if your team spent time reviewing/editing my video the FIRST time around, there would NOT have been an extensive amount of errors/edits and that is just the plain truth (misspellings, 80's music, lighting issues, audio issues, using the incorrect song when I was walking down the aisle, blurry shots, etc.) = which completely would have been caught the first time around if your team really reviewed my video/were detailed oriented (Another example: During the second round of edits, your team still did not fix all the errors I noted in the first round and thus, I had to re-list them out during the second round, hoping they would finally get addressed; Again, an oversight due to lack of details). For the amount of money I spent, the product I received did NOT match that. You/your team should try to learn/understand/listen to your clients and of course never be rude to them (which there is NO excuse for that behavior). ***MOST importantly, I find it very funny how even in your response, you do NOT ask if there is any help or anything you can do to make this experience better for me (which real customer-focused professional companies would always ask/try to do if they truly cared, which you do not). You had no sympathy, care, etc. about my experience and again just shows the truth that you could care less about your clients/their experiences. read more

When someone first asked me while Wedding planning if I was getting a Videographer, I did not understand the significance, and like many couples, I thought it wouldn't be within budget. After my first meeting with John Sanchez from Memory Lane, I knew I had to find a way to have a videographer incorporated within my Wedding. One thing John said to me is, "You do not get videography done at your Wedding for now, but you get videography for later". After a challenging year losing multiple loved ones, this statement stuck with me. I came across Memory Lane Video as I searched for videography options for our wedding this past April. I was immediately struck by their cinematography and reached out for additional information shortly after. Ricky contacted me almost immediately with a sample video that floored both me and my, now, husband. While we entertained other companies, no one's product seemed to top MLV's. Ricky and John quickly became one of my favorite wedding vendors to chat with. I loved their professionalism and timeliness in answering any questions we had. The day-of timeline that John laid out practically saved our wedding day in the absence of a dedicated day-of coordinator. The video shoot on the day of our wedding was quite exciting and intimidating at times. I know there were a number of times I did things during filming that we were asked NOT to do, but the crew was very polite in correcting our mistakes. The camera equipment was all very top-of-the-line -- no bootleg / home camera quality videos here!!! Everyone was very fun and adapted well to our crazy "cast of characters." I'm sure the crew had plenty of stories to laugh at by the end of the night. ;-) Overall, MLV has exceeded our expectations on the services we've received to date. Can't recommend these guys. I was in a time crunch to find a videographer for my upcoming wedding. Out of all the videographers I reviewed and contacted, only these guys and one other company were within my budget and had the filming style that I liked and happen to be available. They SEEMED like the better option out of the 2 so I told the other company that I found someone and wouldn't be needing their assistance. John and I exchanged several emails and were in the middle of finalizing my contract details then all of a sudden he just completely stopped responding for no reason. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Now the other company I wanted is no longer available and I'm scrambling trying to find another videographer. If they were no longer available odidn't want to do the videography then they could've just said so. It's already time consuming and stressful enough to plan a wedding but these guys just add on unnecessary problems. REPLY: Hi Ricky, I didn't see your response till just now. I'm not sure if you have me confused with another client or not but I think you should get your facts straight before trying to make others look stupid. I'm very aware that Wynn has their own vendors and agreed upon services. That was the one of the first things I said in my initial email to you guys on weddingwire.com whenever I first inquired about your services. I also discussed that with John on our first phone call. I explained to him that we had to use Wynn's in-house videographer for our ceremony but wanted to hire someone else for our reception. I told him that outside videographers weren't allowed to film on Wynn's resort grounds but were allowed to do so at the restaurant that we were having our reception at becuase we did a full buyout. John assured me that the video created by Wynn could be easily blended in with the video that you guys would create for my reception. He also told me that you guys had done it many times before and that it should be easy to do so again. He said that I would just be charged an extra fee for the editing to add in Wynn's video and I told him I had no objection to that. I also had no objection to your company's standard hourly editing rate of $100/hr for editing to create a longer 20+ minute video for me. I have no idea where you got the notion that I asked for a 33% discount. I NEVER once EVER asked for a discount at any point during any of our email exchanges or conversations. The prices that I stated in our emails were the direct prices that you guys gave to me. The first contract you guys emailed me on 2/17 said that it would be $1100 total for 4 hours of filiming to create a 3-5 minute highlight reel type video that also included a segment from my ceremony. I then emailed back asking if it would be possible to have a longer video of around 20 minutes to which John replied back that I could but that I would have to pay an $100/hr for editing if I wanted a longer 20+ minute video and that he estimated the editing to be about 3-4 hours. I once again had no objections to the editing costs. I'm attaching screenshots of our actual email exchanges to show what you guys sent to me. The last email I ever got from John said "If this all sounds good to you, let me know and I will send out a new Event Quote reflecting the addition of the longer 20min video." I think any normal person would assume that meant that if I'm ok with the prices that he'd send over a revised contract for me to sign, right? How is that not considered "finalizing" a contract for services? I never once heard you guys say that you wouldn't be able to have enough coverage to create a 20+ minute video. The event timeline I sent you guys seemed like enough stuff to film to create a 20 minute video and John seemed to have agreed as well. I don't know where you got the info that I would only have 25 guests at my wedding. I clearly told John that I would have a little over 100 guests at my wedding and that the only unusual thing about my reception was that it was going to be at a restaurant and that there wouldn't really be any dancing. Please do your other future potential clients a favor and don't string them along and waste their time with false hopes if you're unable to deliver what you say you are. read more
