    Mossies in February?
    Gary U.

I went in expecting amazing BBQ as a dedicated BBQ joint your stuff should rock. I ordered the ribs, which should be the pride of every BBQ joint. The portion size was excellent it comes with corn bread, coleslaw, fries, and baked beans. The ribs were cooked to fall of the bone consistency which for me is pandering to the masses. A good rib is to the tooth a little more pull and not mushy. My ribs still had the membrane intact underneath the rib. Any beginner BBQ enthusiast knows that is the first thing you remove. The taste- well bland. No smoke ring, no smoke flavour, and the rub was unremarkable. The BBQ sauce was served on the side, if you are going to serve sauce it should be on the rib and caramelized on a hot charcoal grill. The baked beans had more smoke flavour than the ribs! The slaw was so bitter it was inedible. Cleanliness is questionable. When there is a squashed mosquito on the wall of the washroom in February it does not breed confidence.

We were walking down Bernard Ave, ready to go to a different restaurant, but saw the specials board for a pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich with chili. How can you walk by a grilled cheese and pulled pork sandwich? Omg! So glad we stopped in today. That grilled cheese was better than my mom could make, and that's saying soemthing! We will be coming downtown for that sandwich more often! So good. And so cheap! $14.95 Highly recommend!

Oh my goodness! Amazing BBQ! We shared a 4-6 person platter with all meats and sides. Perfectly easy, large portions (super lots) of food and delis! Highly recommend

Don't come unless you're hungry! Heavy bbq'd meat if that's what you're into! It's not my style of cuisine, but I did thoroughly enjoy my huge catfish sandwich which was a deal at $14! I wish there were more side options other than what was given but I guess they are traditional BBQ house sides. I sampled my friend's beef brisket and it was sinfully delightful... Great service, delicious food!

After eating BBQ at Rudy's in Texas, thought I would try something in Canada on our recent vacation. Wasn't really sure to get here as the menus are more meal focused, rather than the a la carte I'm used to seeing. We decided to get the Elvis Platter, recommended by the waitress since there was 7 of us. Comes with potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, BBQ sauce, corn bread, fries (overdone and super salty), sausage, beef brisket (too dry/lean), pulled pork (moist and tender), back ribs (flavourful) , ribbletts, and 1/4 chicken (dry white meat, pretty good dark meat). Definitely a lot of food and more than enough for 7 or 8 people. In terms of taste, the pulled pork was the best, but a lot of the rest was either too dry or too salty like I mentioned above. Tough to beat real Texas BBQ though, so not bad. I'd probably go back if I had a real hankering for BBQ, but I'd save my appetite for that at Rudy's in Houston.

Had the oyster poboy and was very disappointed. My husband had the shrimp poboy. I think they should call them burgers because I have never had a poboy in a hamburger bun. Very disappointed on the taste alone. Thank goodness my husband also ordered a side of ribs cause that's all we ate. Do not order poboys.

Only one sauce choice and we did not like it. Same dry rub on all meats. Has potential for more stars, just needs a few more options.

If you've ever had real BBQ, this place just doesn't compare. Pulled pork leaves much to be desired.

FOOD: Im no Korean, but the food here was amazing and legit. It did take half an hour to make the dish as we sat patiently for it but it was worth it. Definitely felt like a mom and pop restaurant because they were both in the kitchen supporting one another.

We came here for lunch during the Covid times (on December 31, 2020). I called beforehand to make sure that they are open. The owner picked up the phone and asked me what time I will be showing up. I told him that I will head there now. He then proceeded and asked me how many people and my name. No he didn't take down my phone number so I am guessing he probably wrote it down on a piece of paper. But regardless, we were the only people dining inside. The reason why the owner asked for our name was so that he could set up 2 tables. A high-top and regular dining table. We got the option to pick which table we wanted to sit at. We ordered two dishes to share. We got the Galibi BBQ ($24) and the Grilled Pork Belly ($19) to share. The Galibi BBQ came with rice and a small dish of sides. The Grilled Pork Belly came with lettuce, dipping sauce, rice and a small dish of sides. The food was very delicious but not wow. I found the portion size a bit small and also their prices are much more higher than their competitors in Kelowna. For example their Kimbap is $10 for a roll and their competitor charges $7.95 for a roll. This goes with every item on the menu. On top, their sides are not free refills like many other Korean restaurants. Note that they are not located downtown too. So most of their customers are local / neighboring residence in the area. We came during Covid times. So note that this places charges for tap water. On top, they will only roll the food out in a cart and you will have to serve yourself. This is a family ran business. The restaurant is not big. The husband of this restaurant is the waiter and cashier. The wife of this restaurant is the chef. So in the entire restaurant there are only two people working. There are free parking out in the front. Is this restaurant worth coming to try, you ask me? Well it is nothing special and also with the prices it charges, I wouldn't make a special trip here. The food is authentic. Was I full after the meal. The answer was not really. If this restaurant was in Vancouver, I would give it 3 stars. Note that this place doesn't have the Korean Grill BBQ available. The food that they serve are all cooked in their kitchen.

(Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.

We had the chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork with pineapple. The sweet and sour was fairly good - tender pork in the usual bright red sauce with lots of onions, peppers and a few pieces of pineapple. I found the sauce too sweet for my taste but the kiddo liked it! The chicken chow mein was just okay, thicker noodle that was too soft for my preference. I'm used to a drier , thinner noodle that has some crunchy bits to it. I guess when compared to Vancouver's chinese food, it's not quite on par! Well, points for being fairly quick, easy to order online and decent portions. I'll have to try more dishes to get a better sense of what this place has to offer.
