Can you give less than 1 star??? This place doesn't even deserve that!! We booked and prepaid months ago to arrive and be assigned a site at the very front against the highway. We left after the owner/manager wouldn't allow us to back into a site that was in such disrepair as a "pull thru" site with a rut and massive erosion hole that prevented us from safely entering the pull thru site as requested. They offered no assistance and called me verbally abuse for questioning them about the issue. We will never return and you should really consider if this highway slum lord should get your business. read more

Nice Campground very clean. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We really enjoy the location being so close to Memphis downtown. Only a few minutes Drive to all of the Memphis attractions. The park is fairly quiet . Spaces are close together but still easy to get our 45 foot trailer in and out of.... We hear the BBQ dinner is well worth the smallish price.... but so far we have not tried it. We would happily come back to this park again. read more

I would rate this place 1 star. The hired help was very nice and apologetic for the condition of the kamping kabin. When we opened the door to the kabin we were greeted with such STENCH that my daughter gaged. Imagine a wet mangy dog slept on all beds. There was dog hair on the beds! I went right back to the office and Jim came to see, very nice man, he caught the STENCH and when I lifted the mattress to show him all the dog hair, bed bugs scurried!!! Yikes I did get a full refund. The store looked clean well kept and stocked. KOA really needs to re-evaluate this place! Not fit to be part of the KOA Family. Those kabins need to be shut down until they can de-bug. NO PETS IN KABINS!!!!!! read more

We stayed in the campground in late May. We found the office staff very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our site was well cared for and had ample space to park in. I'm pretty sure this must be a popular campground because it seemed to be full. The grounds were well tended and flowers were beautiful. We travel a lot and mostly try to find good campgrounds and when we come back to area we stay at the same campgrounds. This is definitely the one we'll be staying at while in the Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi area!!! We really enjoyed our stay! read more

We stayed at this KOA on our two month trip to Florida and back. This was actually my favorite KOA. Tara and her husband were awesome. The grounds were clean and taken care of. They had a tour bus that came right to the campground and was well worth the money. Tara walked our dogs for us so we could be gone all day. It was what made our whole vacation. So close to Beale Street and all the tourist attractions. I would go back there in a minute. Thank you so much for a great trip!! read more

Staff very nice. Clean campsite. Traffic noise is terrible. Not only truck noise from interstate also the train all night long. Did not get a very good night sleep. Maybe they need more trees along edge of property as a sound barrier. Only staying here 2 nights because we want to see Graceland otherwise we would move on. read more

Shady RV park with large recreation room. The pulled pork was delivered to our coach and was delicious. Barbara, the breakfast cook, made biscuits and gravy like my Southern nana did. Unfortunately, the pool was closed, the Wifi didn't work and the cable snowy. Grandsons we're disappointed. When my husband asked for a partial refund, it was denied. Seems the problems are frequent because our friends had a similar problem when they stayed there. read more

Stayed here for the night. Clean place. Friendly staff. Large area for dogs to walk on leash. Didn't see an enclosed dog area. Did not use amenities. Onsite BBQ is good. Very convenient. Pulled pork sandwich has lots of meat. Baked beans and coleslaw tasty. read more

The staff are truly good! The Internet is super fast! The facility is terrible! It is in an unsightly part of West Memphis You can hear the freeway and Rail road noise all night long! It is true with every KOA that they are overpriced and have no physical beauty! You might as well stay in a Walmart parking lot! Okay place I guess. The grass needs cut, the dog park is horrible. All the dog skill stuff is broken and the weeds are taller than my dog. Tried to swim at the pool but that was gross. There was a dead frog amongst other things floating in the water. You can constantly hear traffic on the highway which you can see from your campsite. And only a handful of trees. The campground is surrounded by open fields. Be sure to bring sunscreen because not much shade to go around. I reserved a tent site and was given a rv site with hookup and thought that was nice until I seen the tent site was 100 feet from the street. No way I could of slept there. They offered to bring a fire ring to my site but only if I bought a bundle of firewood from them for $6. Well the bundle I got was mostly kindle sticks, good thing I brought my own. And let's not talk about the street light outside my tent that keeps blinking on and off. All that being said, I am leaving a day early. If your looking for a real campout in the woods do not come here. Place is more for rv than tent. This place is an epic fail for real camping. I will not return here....EVER! read more

This campground was clean and nice. Yes it's close to the road but for us that wasn't an issue. Our built in surge protection kept going off and the staff went above and beyond to get us on another site which worked perfect and after that there were no issues. We were able to get down to Graceland, Sun Studio and The Pyramid easily. read more

I reserved a cabin for my family but it was rented out when we arrived to check in. I showed them my email reservation receipt and reservation # but there was nothing they could do because they had already rented it out to someone else. My family was forced to stay in an AWFUL motel 6 down the street that I will forever have nightmares about. We were forced to cancel our plans in Memphis because we didn't have a decent place to stay. Also, this KOA is next to a very loud highway, so even if they hadn't messed up my reservation, I would never go back there. read more

The "Kamping Kabins" are located literally on the frontage road of interstate 55. Boo. Trucks cars and trains constantly heard. The Kabin was very well stocked with appliances though. Heat and a/c, mini fridge, microwave, and TV/DVD player which was nice. There is also a fire pit with grill and a BBQ which was great. The bathrooms were nearby and were old but clean. There is a restaurant that opens at 7 and coffee is $1.75 with free refills. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits and gravy and it was all really good. Except the only cheese was American. The game room had a pool table and a few board games but the two arcade games were in a closet sized room marked private and had stuff piled on and around them. It's October so I didn't expect it to be open but I also didn't expect to be disgusted by the pool. It looked like a mosquito breeding ground. There is a little old school playground which my son did enjoy. A bottle of soda is $1.75 which is pretty ridiculous. Overall, this place may be good for some but not for us. read more

We enjoyed our stay. The grounds for RV parking is spacious pull-thru's. The pool looked nice, but we didn't swim. Really nice area for dogs. Deborah was super sweet in the office. It is close to downtown Memphis. Loved the cafe onsite! Breakfast Food was excellent! Real sausage gravy and biscuits, and the pancakes and eggs were really good too! Wonderful for quick bite and hitting the road. The orange juice could have been better quality for 1.99 a glass, but the food was wonderful and reasonable.l priced. We didn't get eaten up with mosquitoes, but we weren't in a tent. The restroom facilities were just okay, but clean. read more

Definitely NOT tent friendly! Tent sites are MAYBE 100' from the frontage road with the freeway just the other side of that. They were nice enough to have put up a privacy fence between the rv sites and the tents, I guess to lessen traffic noise for the rv campers? Sadly it was on the wrong side of the tent sites to be of any help. And the mosquitos! Eegads!!! Infestation is a gross understatement. The facilities are dated and could use some love, but everything functioned. I wouldn't recommend this place for tent campers. You won't get any sleep at all. read more

I stayed in the monthly section toward the back side of the park for over a year while working.They had a great group of younger kids who actually did the needful things that had to be done LAST summer but fired them all and replaced them with their RV cronies from other parts of the country who were senior citizens and unable/unwilling to actually do the duties correctly and meet the needs of patrons there.My RV was infested with mice last winter and did $3000 of damage to my electrical after many notifications to staff.Also the freaking ANTS took over my entire RV and to no avail , they offered no help until I had a come apart and showed them photos.The cost of the rodent bait and ant bait was never recovered then they did not reimburse me my credit for the last week I did not stay and illegally ran my debit card to cover an electric bill that I know was gouged up. The managing owners are private so complaining to national corporate did nothing. Real peices of work they are. Greedy and non professional as to customer needs/satisfaction.Stay somewhere else if your're long term. read more

Pack a lot of Off!, Deet, mosquito nets, whatever you use to keep the varmints off because that place is infested! They need to treat the mosquitos around there. We had to kill them in our camper before going to sleep. They were awful! We only stayed one night there but I couldn't imagine staying more than one night. My family arrived late, put our tent up in the dark and left early not wanting to stay any longer than we had to because of the outrageous mosquito population!!! I worked at the Memphis KOA at the front desk making reservations and checking in guests. I have done reservations before but not with the KOA system. If it were not for a vary friendly and dedicated employee, I would have been in trouble. He was my instructor and mentor on the reservation system. The Manager's attitude was "here it is, sink or swim" He provided NO instruction, system or company wish and there is no instruction manuals or employee rules. During my 2 months there, my wife had a medical issue that required me to take off a week 2 different time. When I returned after the second time, I was told I was no longer needed. I was given no reason except that "I don't have to give a reason". When pushed for a reason, I was told "you are not on the same page as I! what ever that page is. This manager provides no direction other than negative direction - don't do it that way, During the sign in process, my proof of employment eligibility - my passport - was lost. He insisted he gave it back! Even the direct deposit was messed up even with the attached, voided check. First time ever that has happened to me. My husband and I have been to many KOA campgrounds over the years and this one was probably the worst I have been to. It has no shade, right on the freeway. They call it Memphis KIA but it is actually in Arkansas. Brochure says it is 15 minutes from Memphis attractions but it is more like 30 minutes even with no traffic. Also lots of mosquitoes. We actually ended up not staying and found another RV park that was less expensive, better location and much nicer. They did refund our deposit. Staff was not friendly or helpful. I would not recommend staying at this park. read more

Okay I will be honest. There are a ton of mosquitos- they dont like my bad blood but they ate my husband and daughter like peach cobbler. Its a fine KOA for an overnight stay- as a holiday not so much. The two bad things are mosquitos and the noise from the highway- you are roght on the highway. However, the people are so nice and helpful- they let us rent the spot so we could see Beale Street and the Civil Rights museum etc and their cook is awesome. Shes a beautiful black lady ( can I say black without being racist to ID her? These days I dont know) not only was she friendly and chatty - man that lady can COOK. I had given up on good biscuits and gravy ( being from LA I had searched all over until this angel made them!!!). The gift store is so cute. If you can put up with squitos and hwy noise stay here- it gets the job done but definitely get the biscuits and gravy and BBQ- good prices as well read more

Stopped here for a single night while traveling from Georgia to Missouri. We rented a cabin and they allowed our dogs to come in with us which was great. We arrived late but they had turned on the AC in our cabin and left the check in packet out for us which we really appreciated. The cabin was small but clean and good enough for our single night sleep. Plus we were able to park a large truck with a car hauler right outside our cabin which was a big deal for us. I read other reviews before making the reservation and I noticed people complaining about the mosquitoes which I thought was ridiculous. I would expect mosquitoes in a campground but I quickly realized why others felt the need to complain about them. Never have I ever in my life been swarmed by mosquitoes as I was at this KOA. It was almost unbelievable the number of mosquitoes which obviously made it difficult to even walk the dogs. I know it's a campground and bugs are bugs but it was bad. In the morning (way fewer mosquitoes!), the breakfast was mediocre at best and I actually didn't even eat mine. My husband did eat this but said it wasn't much good. On the other hand, we had trouble with our truck in the morning and the KOA people allowed us to hang out in our cabin an extra few hours without even a late departure charge. Overall, I liked the cabin and the environment felt safe enough walking around in the dark. As mentioned in other reviews, it is really close to the interstate and therefore there is a lot of road noise but we were so tired it actually didn't bother us that much. I would recommend for anyone laughing at the people complaining about the bugs, bring bug spray and make sure you apply it before you even arrive. read more
