Super causal bar/night club with live music that charges $10 for admission (go through the restaurant side). We stumbled in there on a Friday night when Mars Hill was playing. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. Mars Hill is a killer band who plays anything from the Temptations to Prince and Sir Mix-a-Lot to Chris Stapleton. The female lead singer was the rocker, male lead singer was the country star, and the trumpet player, saxophonist, and trombonist each rapped! What?! The guitar player killed it as well. There's a small strip of "dance floor" space where plenty of people were dancing all night. There's reentry so feel free to come and go as you please. I believe you can also bring food from next door into the bar. There are over 10 small tables you can gather around for a close up of the band. Our server was really nice and quick. The only questionable thing was that we ordered four Old-Fashioned, one Shiner, and three shots totalling $120. I think that's pretty hefty for a casual joint. I heard they play jazz only on Mondays. The 2 male bartenders at this place are rip offs. Do not trust them!!!! Inside the bar where live music is. They rip u off at the bar and at the door. They won't serve you drinks if you don't tip them. I been ripped off before from this place. Tips are given on service... if service sucks... no tip. Music is great and customers are great. We didn't try any of the food, but we did try the drink, and they were strong, and the bartender made a drink based off of the type of alcohol we wanted. We went from my birthday after the first lounge we went to disappointed in the music. This place did not disappoint. The bands on Friday night was eclectic and fun playing hits from the 70s, all the way through the 2000s! The crowd was equally eclectic, but there was no judgment, lots of fun and plenty of dancing and singing along. The place is small, tiny and divey, but so much fun. read more

Such a fun atmosphere. I went two nights in a row while staying in Dallas. The first night I had dinner and ate their chicken Cobb salad with a Cajun vinaigrette-which was delicious. It's really 0 stars but can't really do that on yelp. The place was super crowded. The band that night was very off. My heart goes out to the drummer that tried to keep everyone on point. They were using click tracks to fill in their missing instruments and the only musician listening and following the tracks was the drummer. Everyone else was OFF. I was here Labor Day night. It was my first time and Wow!! The entertainment was an 18 piece jazz orchestra; I am told compromised of PHD's and College professors-how cool is that!? They were sooo good! It boggled the mind to hear the leader calling out instructions about "c notes and then Jim you'll have a guitar solo-in d minor..which is usually a piano solo here.... you guys got that" I have no clue about reading music-but I loved the out loud interaction between the band members! This place is located in a strip mall in Addison,Tx-it's very small. Show was in full swing when we arrived and they must have known we were coming because there were two seats at the bar right in front!...what!! The place was packed!! They had a Free Taco Bar!! This place is for older people. I am in my early 30's and my husband and I were the youngest ones here. This place is more for 45 and older. The music is old too. The "dance floor" is whatever floor is between all the tables. Kind of like dancing in your own kitchen. The drink service was quick and there was a cover charge which was silly to me but whatever. It wasnt our scene at all but we met friends who invited us. My drinks were cold and prompt I just won't go back because I'm not old. This place was fun! This is like two venues in one. One side is a bar/restaurant where you can sit up at the bar or sit at a table and order food. It's located in a strip center but it's relatively small & cozy. They've got a fair number of TV monitors showing sports and lots of patrons who take advantage of Addison's liberal smoking policies. At 10 pm the other half of the bar opens up for live music entertainment. On the night I went, they had a kick/a$$ band playing a combination of 80's, 90's & current day hits. I attended a wedding anniversary party last Friday, November 2nd, with a racially diverse group of 9. The customer service was not acceptable. We had to go to the bar every time we wanted an additional drink & no one was charged the same price for the same drinks. Fast forward to when our waiter attempted to take our orders for food. He was slurring his words and stumbling the entire time. We were then asked how we were paying cash or credit. If credit, he tabbed out our drinks at the bar (without asking) then said we'd have to pay for our dinner upfront and also asked for he cc of other people at our table before entering our order. I had said cash and he literally had me give him my $12 before the order was even received. A member of our party asked for a mgr as none of us have ever been anywhere (besides fast food) in which you pay as you go for food. She was advised my management it was because "Y'all leave without paying." Her response was "We who?" We were then asked to leave bc one member of our party asked for his credit card bank from the waiter & the waiter started arguing back that it was not because "you're black". Yet we did not witness anyone in our area pay up front for any item they ordered. The manager was very defensive outside of the club/restaurant when he was questioned about their supposed 'policy for everyone'. He then told us we should just go across the street (in which a live band was playing hip hop music). Worst customer service that one would expect from a manager of a supposedly popular establishment. Btw.... SO VERY GLAD WE DID CHANGE VENUES! I've visited Memphis many times over the years and it never disappoints. There's a food/bar area on one side, with mostly fried options...and the dance/band/bar area on the other. If you're looking for a large, younger, or smoke-free facility, this won't be the place for you...but if you enjoy good music, fun people, and a dark, small dive type bar that you can just quietly chill in or dance the night away in your own world, this place is for you. If you love live music and being close to the featured band, this is the perfect place for you. You really get an up close & personal experience with the band and most band here kick butt any night of the week. The night never really disappoints and although there's a small cover (less than $10), it's worth it. Drinks are reasonably priced, there's a full bar, and food pretty late night (I think up to 1 pm). The staff is friendly and very helpful and the band typically keeps you on your feet and jamming. The crowd is also very diverse and fun...so it's hard not to have a good time here. My only suggestion: Take away the indoor smoking option. read more

6.19.22 - Stopped by with my cousin for a late night meal (10pm). The crowd (about 20 patrons) was very friendly and welcoming. The bartender was stressed or just not into making the patrons feel welcome at all. The food: (1) seafood combo; (2) 1lb crawfish; and (3) cup of jambalaya ($5.95). Seafood combo consisted of one large piece of white fish (cod maybe?)($15.95), a few fried oysters, 2 large shrimp, fries, very small red beans and rice, tartar, and cocktail sauce. The jambalaya (which came with 3 very delicious pieces of butter garlic toast) was phenomenal. Seafood combo was good, but the hushpuppies were disgusting and tasted nothing like hushpuppies. Combo also arrived with a very small side of beans and rice (delicious). The crawfish were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Not any major complaints because I don't like hushpuppies that much anyway. Absolutely love this place! Have been going to Memphis for years because I love the live bands. The bartenders are awesome (especially Jay) and make a great Cherry Coke for the non drinkers like myself! Memphis is a nice environment of regulars, mature adults just enjoying the music and mingling. One of the main reasons I love Memphis is the environment of mature adults. You will not find Memphis over run with 20 year olds looking for a hookup. Lastly I don't know of anywhere else that "smokers" are welcome and are actually allowed to smoke inside without inhibitions. Memphis is not the place to go if you are a young adult or if smoking bothers you in anyway. Lastly Memphis and Shuck and Jives are connected. So bring your appetite you can order food from Memphis kitchen open until 1 am. Memphis used to be the only bar open 365/7 days a week. After Covid Memphis has steadily been growing back to the 7 days a week with live music. So please go check out Memphis if you want to hear some great music, good food, and excellent staff! read more
