Usually never had a problem till I lost my phone here and the staff have poor communication within one another!!! Only 2 people knew where my phone was and I was receiving calls to go pick it up and told the manager I was here to pick my phone up and she got real disrespectful. I forgot her name but she was the Asian heavy set women. She said no phone was found yesterday but earlier that day ozy the bartender and dancer showed me a photo of my phone and informed me to come at 9pm that it was locked in the safe... but the manager expected me to stop ozy while dancing and to bring him up to the bar with me and being super aggressive. In a management role I expected her to handle the situation and take control instead she was of no help and if I tell them I'm coming for my phone after they called to inform me it was there shouldn't all of staff know about the situation... never again!! read more

Only the side bar and patio are open for HH despite the 101° ambient temperature. Every other word of the music was profanity, misogynist, and every woman is "slut ho" or worse. This is a gay bar blasting anti-women rants (not rap). Rap is music. Their stereo was a hate rant. I would not recommend this place if it was the last place on Earth serving water ($5/bottle). I was at TMC this morning and when I kindly asked a gentleman to please not blow nicotine smoke in people's face while waiting in line at the establishment's patio bar because I am allergic to nicotine, a large woman who claimed to work there was disrespectful and dismissive. She told me it's the patio and to to deal. Then threatened to have me kicked out. Upon embellishing the story, security told me they would mace me if I didn't leave, after I stated I would leave. Staff need to be cognasant of customer's needs and allergies. A simple apology would have sufficed. Kindness would have been acceptable. There was no reason or need for dismissal and a disregard for human health. I have filed a police report with the city of Dallas for S. long, badge # APG-108 for his non compliance of name and badge number when asked and for the establishments violations of civil liberties. My allergies were not taken seriously and not one staff member, the bar, the off duty employ or the two security guards cared or tried to emphathize with the human health violation. This is never how any customer should be treated; made to feel further victimized -- without being asked my side of the issue. Threatened with mace because I stood up for my health by kindly stating, "in the future, please do not blow your smoke into a persons face." No compassion or kindness was provided to me in my anaphylactic, anxious and traumatic state. TMC as a business pillar in the community I challenge you and your employees to do better and be a role model in the community. Especially considering that Texas law states that smoking should not occur within 15 feet of the entrance of a business and I was first in line at the bartender about to place my order. Furthermore, the female employee that identified herself as working for TMC continued to insult my husband by telling him that he had alopecia. This is not professional or how your represent an employer; on or off the clock. Why would any person insult a customer and personalize the insults to their party for having an allergic reaction. victim shaming is not okay and the fact the employees stood behind one another in this act speaks volumes. read more

TMC is ok. Nothing particularly special, but nothing particularly bad. Being right on the Cedar Springs strip, their locations is excellent. They have a great patio, probably one of the best on the strip. The place has several bars, both indoors and outdoors which is nice. However, they tend to be a bit understaffed for sure. The drinks are quality and the staff are friendly, but they're a bit overpriced for what you get. The business is always clean and safe, but the clientele can be a bit on the pretentious side. Overall, TMC isn't a bad place to stop on the strip, but there are better places out there. read more

It's been awhile, time for a new review! Nice I'm able to write another good one! I enjoy a layered evening, A little bit of everything, with everyone, everywhere! It's always a good time when I end my evenings at The Mining Company. I go with friends who identify as both straight, and gay, and a good time is had by all. My straight male friends are intrigued with the skills of the Go Go boys working the poles, Bravo to them! They offer multiple bars, with hot staff, inside, and out, serving the cocktails you would expect at a bar. I'm usually parked at the main bar, where those with descriminating taste, like myself will find a locked glass case with all the top shelf items you're looking for. I'm a Japanese whiskey guy, and it's wonderful they stock what I love. After a long day at Six Flags we needed a beer and has fate would have it this was the first bar on Cedar Springs that we came to. They have dancers and I must agree with Ja Z. someone needs a Hunky's burger. Prices on Drinks: Moderate to High Mood: Cramped, no place to sit. Outdoor area is used for smoking, so, if you don't want to smell like smoke...be prepared to stand. Music Choice: is okay, but it's like, Top 40 Remixes and stuff so don't expect anything fancy on the music scene. No old school trance or dance music really anymore except for Sandstorm by D*rude. (No Exaggeration) Overall, too small of a space to be properly enjoyable. Lately it's also been nothing but bridal showers and stuff and I'm not into straight people invading our spaces anymore, when so many of them are so adamantly against us, and have been hostile toward us while inside OUR establishments. I don't rate TMC off of this, it's all the bars in the area. I understand inclusion, but there's a point of no return, and now that Uptown has changed so much in terms of real estate and price points for living, WHO lives in the neighborhoods now, etc...I don't see the "gayborhood" lasting much longer anyway...sadly. read more

I'm here on trashy Tuesday. If your looking to cruise, this is the club to be at. The dancers are amazing and really makes me reminisce about the days when we had club BJ's (RIP). My only negative is the speakers on the patio isn't good. Most people congregate on the front patio, which overlooks the Cedar Springs gay strip. Why not invest is a better speaker system so we can enjoy the DJ? The bartenders are cute and friendly. It's a great place to pregame or even hang out on the weekends. read more

Everything went well until a man vary blatantly tried to steal my wallet from my purse that I put on the table the three of us were sitting at thinking it would be safe. It led to a shout fest/fist brawl with the perpetrator who would not leave on multiple occasions. We contacted management to kick him out and were initially willing, until I pointed out the perpetrator, who responded with, but "he's a usual." So they wouldn't do anything but offered comped drinks. Thanks. That says everything I need to know about your enterprise. I have always been a fan of TMC back in the day. I have been coming here for years to the old Throckmorton Mining Company and now with my partner at the new TMC, is still a fun place to hang out with your group/s of friends on Sundays. This is a great new look for TMC (where Sue Ellen's used to be) The minor upgrades look great and Caven didn't overdo it. Just the right amount of flair. Yes, it's dark, smokey and a very cruisy place on Sundays after 10P. The best Trash Disco music by the DJ's. The dancers have there own spot to strut there stuff and they are all very friendly. Awesome music as usual and the music is not as loud. Staff is very friendly outside before you walk in and they have a great patio out back with tables, chairs and to sit down with friends or just to relax after dancing and smoking. When you walk in there is one bar to the left and you could order a drink or wait till you walk in to your right because there's another bar as well which is quite long. The dance floor is really small and gets very crowded on Sunday nights. I would recommend this to groups or if you are going to meet a friend there, this is the place to be seen on Sunday nights for sure. TBRU (Texas Bear Round Up), the third weekend in March is fun here on Sunday night. You won't be disappointed. The front of the patio should have been used as a quiet seating area to make a phone call on your cell. Would take one star off but this place is still perfect in my book. Still like the old TMC two story look as oppose to this single story. But, it won't still keep me from being there on Sunday nights with the hot men in full force. read more

This place was interesting. The girls restroom is a men's restroom, I think basically because no women go? My friend didn't think they'd allow me in :p Anyway, we head out to the patio of this place and there is a firepit going and next to it we see marshmallows and skewers, so naturally I drunkenly roasted marshmallows. I've tried to enjoy this bar 3-4 times, but every time I walk in, I am ready to turn around immediately. Your first impression of TMC is likely the Abercrombie type entrance, with an attractive college guy on the poster of the doorway. You might also pass the patio (which has potential) but typically has a couple of bored 19 year old dancers on their cell phones, taking a break. When you walk in, you're likely to find the front bar full of older men who are there to see the young "dancer" boys. They'll check you out, but they aren't the type to engage a stranger in conversation. They'll seem creepy, but equally harmless. You'll be fine. As you pass this bar, you'll often see more dancers than customers (which is not intended as a compliment). Some of these dancers look a bit burned out or bored, but I'm sure they're all nice boys. Around the corner to your left is what looks like pole dancing practice. You'll find a few dancers attempting new things on the pole. Nobody is usually watching them, which is a great way for them to focus on themselves and try to learn their first couple of moves. If you hit the patio before you run out of the bar, you'll realized that the boring scene you saw before you walked in was exactly that. Boring. If you're like me, you'll be happy to leave without having purchased or committed to a drink. Take my advice and don't return. Coming back a second or third time will not make the bar any more appealing. JRs is right down the street, cleaner and less creepy. read more

Today I was sitting out on the patio and the bartender tells me I have to leave because he have to spray the patio down. Shouldn't this be done before or after the bar open? I was at this bar last night with a good girlfriend of mine. We're both str8 but we enjoy hanging out in the Cedar Springs area. Until last night we have always felt safe. It was a great night until after a few drinks at this place. We both started to feel disoriented and we believe we might have been drugged as we both basically blacked out at the same time. Bottom line we didn't drink enough to justify losing consciousness. We're not sure who or when but something wasn't right. The fish smell is thick in there and it's not the hot lesbian snatch. Came with a group of friends and a RANDOM man started calling us "whores" "skanks" and "prostitutes" within 5-10 seconds of walking in the door. When we asked why he was doing this, he kept repeating "go home" and that we did not "belong there". The bartender was NO help (2/26/22 at around 7 pm) and told us he was a regular and he just wanted us all to get along. We clarified what he had said and asked if this was tolerable behavior, he asked us to "cheer up" and enjoy our night. This was SUCH a negative and unwelcoming experience for our friends birthday and we will NEVER be back. On our way, several of the people at the bar apologized profusely for the man and bartenders behavior and told us to not let this experience ruin our thoughts on the establishment, but clearly this is behavior that is tolerated here and that is just unacceptable.
