Absolutely abuses their employees and other staff under management. any time you are given good service, know someones back is getting broken for it. Cant ever find a manager? Because they more often are taking time off or leaving in the middle of the day. The amount of complaints about not having working AC in the store (outside of managements offices) is inhumane. Every poor decision made by this company falls on the people who work there first, but god forbid you try to leave, work somewhere else, or grow in your position. There is so much favoritism that I dont expect new or better management until the current ones are too old to work anymore, clinging on for dear life to money they don't need while screwing everyone else over. Drove from Tawas city to shop at Menards and open up the account . needed to spend 500 to get a Well pump, etc. in our new home. Went to sales person in that department and she waited on only men and left me standing there for a half an hour. I gave up And drove back to Tawas and shop local. read more

We always found what we needed at this store when remodeling our previous home. We purchased different kinds of flooring, a tub, shower surround, shower heads, faucets, medicine cabinet, insulation, bedroom doors, folding closet doors, storm doors, paint, deck stain, toilet seats, countless tools, personal care products, food items, etc from there. We always eventually found what we needed (sometimes we had to hunt for someone to help us, and sometimes we had to hunt for it ourselves) and were overall happy with our purchases. Menards is a great store and their rebate program is a fantastic way to get money back on purchases too! read more

I always enjoy Menards - their lighting section is fun to look through - found the perfect bath light for over the sink. Going to order a second one. Very reasonable - easy install. The employees are very helpful and pleasant. Lots to look at besides building supplies. Nice pet section - found two nice dog beds for reasonable price. Kitchen cupboard and appliance section is well organized and has very nice stock and special order cabinets. The store is spacious, clean and well lite. Always have good luck at Menard's. Many times we stop and they have 11% rebate offer. It's a mail-in for store credit but we stop here so often it's so worth it. I buy things on credit card and never have to worry about returning items. They have a record of it. Could be bad I guess, but it works for me. read more

Like their 11% Rebates which seem to run every other week. We try to shop accordingly to maximize our funds. In the past several months we have put their Great Lakes hardwood upstairs, lower laminate, area rug, 3 ceiling fans, carpeting for stairs, outside lighting. There In stock items are generous selections. This week we got a we'll build Char-Grill very well built and were able to put it together ourselves. Most importantly lots of helpful employees every time we went in with identifiable shirts. Home Depot would not honor my husbands VADisabiliy. No one seemed to know how it worked. Very poor products and worse customer service. Please go to Home Depot or lowes or even better go to Wimsatt or abc. So many things wrong with this place I am not sure where to begin. Worst store I've ever encountered!!!! My mother had received an electric dog fence for Christmas and had no need for it. When we had went to return it we did not have the receipt, they could not find it in their system. Their price tag of $199 was still on the box. Not only would they not refund us the money, they confiscated it, basically accusing us of stealing it! Now not only are we not refunded, we are out the original electric dog fence! How in the hell is this even legal????? Never will I ever spend another dollar in this store! read more

Customer service is terrible!!! They have twice made mistakes when I shopped there and said they could do nothing about it. Buyer beware, check and double check everything their employees do. If you do have a problem they have very inexperienced mangers that either don't know how or are unwilling to fix very common problems. read more

I can count on 1 hand how many reviews I have left for a business but this one was so shocking, I just needed to take the time to share my experience. On 8/5/18 I called the Bay City Menards to verify they indeed had the 3 sets of hunting climbing sticks their website said they had before I wasted a trip to the store. I called and they said yes, we have 3 sets so I drove ~ 1 hour to get them. Upon arriving I could not find them and went to the desk and they called someone to come help me. His name was Tyler and he was very helpful but unfortunately he could not find what they claimed they had in stock and explained their counts must be off. He was very knowledgeable and even went as far as to look up the upcoming truck deliveries and found out which truck would have more and when it would be arriving. In the meantime I was looking at another set of climbing sticks and he looked up the price and told me the box I had in my cart was X price. Since they were so inexpensive I figured I would get them so my trip was not a total waste of time. I went to cash out and this is where my experience went south in a hurry. Upon cashing out the cashier told me my total was ~$140 and I commented that couldn't be right and we started verifying the prices. We found the item Tyler previously looked up and gave me a price on rang up 4X more than what he told me so she called over her supervisor/manager named Ebony. Ebony did some checking and said the price that rang up must be correct and I explained again that I just spoke to Tyler less than 5 minutes ago and asked her to contact him to verify. She simply responded "he must be new and not know what he is doing because they rang up at $59.99" and she stood there almost waiting to see what my reaction would be or if I would purchase them anyways. I grabbed the item from my cart and sat it on the end platform of their checkout lane, That is when this supervisor/manager decided to have the last word by saying "Thanks for doing that, it saved me the work". Both myself and the gentleman in line behind me just looked at her in shock and disbelief. Not only was MS Ebony unwilling to reach out to the person that just less than 5 minutes ago, she also insulted him by "assuming" he was new and didn't know what he was doing" but then inserted her own version of customer service by getting the last word in and thanking me for removing the item from my cart and saying in a snide tone "Thanks for doing that, it saved me the work". After leaving I called back to the store and asked for Tyler to thank him for going above and beyond and also to let him know about the price discrepancy but he was out on his lunch break. That is when I found out he has worked for Menards for ~ 8-10 years and has traveled all over the state to work at and help set up other stores in and out of Michigan so he apparently is the new dummy that Supervisor Ebony that he was. if only she was as willing to try and look into the details as much as Tyler was she would not have portrayed such a poor example of customer service and cost her employer what had been a long standing customer. I will NEVER spend another dollar in that store and have already told numerous friends and contractor contacts about my experience. Two of the three contractors at work made comments along the line that it did not surprise them one bit and have had multiple similar experiences so apparently this is more of a culture for some VS an isolated incident with a person that may have been having a bad day. I will shop anywhere BUT Menards going forward. All because of one rude woman that made a customer feel like her investigating a price discrepancy was a major inconvenience and felt the need to end the experience with a snide comment almost to get the last word in and show me she wasn't going to do something she didn't want to do. read more

Very poor customer satisfaction. Went in to buy some items with their 15%, all you can fit in the bag, sale. Problem is you can only check out with one bag per visit. As I questioned the stupidity of this rule with the checkout person I saw I was not going to get anywhere so I said I'll just pay for this bag or stuff and then go to the back of the line and come back through and pay for the other bag. Well when I got up to her again she called one of the managers over and told her what I was doing and wanted to know if I could actually come back through the line again. The manager said I would have to leave the building and come back in to use the discount. Why would they do something that stupid? If you offer a promotion why restrict it like that. I can understand restricting the amount of any one product to prevent someone buying out the inventory but this was two bags of assorted items. There are many things I don't like about Menards and how it is laid out but I keep coming back. This may be the straw that broke the camels back. I'll be shopping at Home Depot. read more

Was in the store for 30 minutes walked past 9 employees not one said hello can I help you there anything I can help you find. You walk into Home Depot everybody asks you if you need help will not be back to Menards! Then when I made a remark to one of the employees about no one asking us if we could find anything or needed help he sarcastically apologized and kept going on about what he was doing. read more

During my recent visit to this location of Menards, I was sadly disappointed with the OVERWHELMING sexism in the way I was treated by employee while trying to purchase several door lock sets for my remodeling project. Totally unacceptable and not addressed by the management when I went back the next day to discuss this incident. If I could rate here it would be zero stars. read more
