Have been into this location three different times. Looking at exterior doors. First two times was doing research,and pick out style. Was in the door area over half an hour each time. Never found anybody to help. Went back to order a special order door today. Same scenario nobody seems to be around to help with doors. So I just purchased an in stock item door, for about half what the other one was. So it worked out for me, not so much for them. However, still have no idea how to special order a door there. And didn't get to buy the I actually wanted. Also, now they have a check in when you go to the yard. You don't talk to a person. So if you don't know where you're going, you have no idea how to get there. Like happened today, drove around twice before I found what I was looking for. Before they had a worker, who checked you in. They would ask what are you picking up, and direct you to the right area. Seemed to work great for a long time. Don't know why they needed to get rid of it. Same trip same day was at the back lumber counter. Was ordering some cedar lumber. Had a question about a fence panel. He could not answer, but pointed me out to the wall right next to us. I said I will go around the corner and look at them and let you know which one I need. As I got back to the counter, less than a minute later. I watched him walking away. Then I watched three other people get helped before I got up to the counter again. Don't know where he went. He never came back. Another gentleman finished me up. Three strikes in one day. Don't know if I'll go back there. Also, this time while I was in the door area. There was two other gentleman there. One had been there for a while. Asked if he had seen anybody to help. He said no he was looking for somebody also. ‍ read more

I've been here probably 10 times in the last month since moving to the area. Don't know exactly if they are preferred for me to Home Depot, but they are certainly closer to my house, so that's a huge advantage. Once you get the layout, you can find your way around, but wow, this is one massive building. They don't do well with letting you know where items are when you search for them on their app/website, like Home Depot do. For that reason, I think Home Depot as the store to go to where you know what you are looking for, but Menards is great for finding out things that you didn't even know you wanted or needed. Their 11% rebate offer that they have currently going is nice, though the fact they do it all through snail mail makes me wonder what decade they are operating in. Return process is fast and easy, I wish they let you enter in the exit door, that way, when it is cold, and you have an infant with you, you don't have to walk outside so far. read more

Ordered a garage door from Menards. It took almost 2 months to get it, so we were in the end of November when we got to install it. Took everything out of the boxes to find that the middle panel had a large dent and several small dents, along with some black marks that would not come off. We had to install the door, (which cost us $650) because by the time we opened the boxes our other door was already off. Contacted Menards and they had us fill out forms to describe the issue and send pictures. Their solution to the problem was to send us another panel (which we are going to have to pay another guy to install, and it's already been a month and we have not received it) they gave us paint to touch up the black marks, and $100 gift card. We paid $3019.99 for the door, so it wasn't cheap. I am not happy at all! Also, the rollers make more noise than my old door when rolling. We put some silicone on them and it didn't help. I honestly wish I would have kept my old door and just painted it! Guess I learned my lesson. :( read more

We are new to the area and visited the De Pere Menards on 1313 Lawrence Drive De Pere, WI 54115. We asked a young employee to help us in the wood section and he told us that was not his department and did not direct us anywhere or to anyone else. The gentleman Larry who did end up helping us was such a pleasure. Super helpful & friendly! We then had to return something from the previous day, the employee Briana working the returns desk was rude and very unhelpful. The manager was called to mitigate the situation and the manager was a little more helpful but unapologetic about Briana's bad attitude. Although we prefer to shop at this Menards because the price and selection is better than the Home Depot, we probably will not be returning due to the inconsistent and off-putting service. Summary: Mostly bad customer service. If you must shop here avoid the younger employees. read more

I used the online ordering/pick up service for an item that I was picking up as a gift. I wanted to make sure it didn't sell out, but I knew I wouldn't get to the store for a few days. I was able to order online and then go pick up at the store. There was a small processing fee ($1.40) and you have 14 days to pick up your order. The location to pick up is all the way in the way in the back corner, but there might be a closer area to drive up/park. Anyway, I liked the service because I didn't want to walk around the entire store hoping to find the product in stock. The small fee was worth the piece of mind. read more

Bought a Snapper snowblower just over a month ago. This machine worked for about 20 minutes before the auger seized up. Upon investigation the belt had come off and lodged in the housing. I called Menards and was informed that because the machine had been run (gas put in it) I couldn't return or exchange it. Had there been no gas in it, I could return/exchange it. Just how in the hell are you supposed to know if the machine works unless you run it??? I was told that I need to drag this thing to a service center to determine if the repair could be covered under the factory warranty. Initially at my expense. As the selling dealer, Menards is the factory warranty contact. No other retailer pulls this sort of tactic. I've purchased gas powered items from many other retailers and never had an issue exchanging if there's an issue. Here I sit over a month later of farting with this machine trolling forums for answers because I don't want to spend hundreds more to fix a machine that already cost $500 that was used for less than 20 minutes. Not to mention I have no snowblower right in the middle of snow season. This machine simply throws its belt every single time you use it. No matter how many times you put it back on, or how many different ways you adjust the tension on the idler pulley. As it sits, I wouldn't buy a toaster from Menards because I probably couldn't return it if I plugged it in. Buyer beware on paint...if the can says white but you got black, tough shit, you opened the can...IT'S YOURS NOW. All of these are exaggerations, but you get my point. So because I've wasted so much of my own time trying to fix this machine, on hold with Snapper/Briggs and Stratton AND Menards I'm simply going to start 1 staring this company on ever social media platform I can find. It's hit or miss here. Sometimes you can find a helpful and knowledgeable employee that can take you to exactly what you need. Other times, you ask someone for help and they're either totally rude, or a moron. Other than that, they do have a great selection and low prices. Even on groceries! read more

Menards in De Pere is an awful experience. They appear to be more concerned with stocking shelves than assisting customers with finding something. Was there at 8:20 pm looking for a particular screw. I saw 5 employees pass my by with no offer to help and beleive me - i looked helpless..took me 27 minutes to get some help. There were about 3 cars in the lot - NOT A PEAK time. Im done...ill drive to the True Value hardware store from now on. read more

I have been here a couple times to pick up some home good items. This time we stopped in to get light fixtures. The staff was friendly and they had the numbers I needed for my house and some lighting. I would stop in again if my local Menards does not have what I need. read more
