    Absolutely horrendous treatment by Richard, store manager. He refused to help stating his assistant manager was helping (she was trying but getting nowhere). I am owed $245.22 from a voided transaction on 4/22. It's been a month and no refund. Richard states I need to be "more patient" then hangs up. Is a month without $245.22 not being patient? Terrible representation Richard, you should consider a position without customer contact.

    I took my window screens in for repair on 7/13/2022. I had used this establishment previously for…read morethe same thing and they were returned within 24 hours, without incident, so when I took them in on the date stated, I asked if I could get them the next day, but the young lady said they had a lot of screen repairs to complete, so my request could not be done. I called the store on Friday, 7/15/22, hoping they would be ready and I was told Monday or Tuesday. I went to the store on Tuesday, 7/19/22 and they were ready, but I never received a call stating they were indeed ready for pick up. Upon being given my screens I noticed that one looked wider than I recalled, but I didn't measure them when I dropped them off, so I left the store with all three screens fully repaired. When I installed two of the three screens that had been repaired, all but the one which seemed wider, fit perfectly. I took the screen back on, along with a screen from a similar window. You could see that the screen I was given was too wide. I was told to come back the next morning and speak to "Jake". The next morning I spoke to Jake and his words were, "I guarantee that is your screen". I said it is not the same width as another screen from the same bay of windows. His response was "all windows are not the same size, and is the screen from the top". I told him, there is only one screen per window, and when I tried to reinstall the screen it did not fit, and I asked if someone could put the screen in since he guaranteed it was my screen. He said not he, nor anyone else in the store would do that. What horrible customer service! Not once did he say it was possible there was a mix-up with the screens. I told him this would be the last time I would be in this store.

I'm walking aimlessly looking for paint, I heard a faint hello. They're not in sight, so I said hello I'm looking for paint. The voice is coming from the back of the building. Five minutes later the girl comes out. She's super friendly but maybe it's a ploy because I've been in the store that's empty for 7 minutes. I asked where's the paint she takes me to the paint. Where are the paint brushes, on the opposite side of the store. I gather my items and my paint isn't ready. 30 minutes later my paint is finished and 2 customers have came and went. But the paint was a perfect match. Three stars for the friendly staff just wished the service was equally provided.

    I went to the Matteson store yesterday and was very pleasantly impressed with the young, well…read moretrained staff. Although the 10 ft. dryer duct was not in stock, the young man who helped me went to all levels to try to find it for me. Additionally, I needed to purchase a circular light bulb and couldn't find it. A very helpful young lady asked if I needed help and found it for me. I didnt catch both their names but ones name started with Yo and ended with Da. Not trying to expose more than necessary but if you work there youll know who it is. Anyways i said hi and they kinda looked at me, continued their conversation for a lengthy amount of time. Finally i guess they said what they wanted to say and finally deemed us worthy of attention. I explained the situation, being very specific about what i wanted to purchase and one of them walked off and the other one with a purple beanie proceeded to bring another employee, stating i had a large order " of some stuff idk what ". Clearly having a conversation had exhausted her to the point of confusion and a general sense of not caring because then she kinda wandered off aimlessly. At least the employee i talked to next was competent and helpful. But this is exactly why i DETEST home depot. If i never went there again i wouldnt care at all. Employees chit chatting while clearly aware youre there but dont care, or sometimes non existent. This is not the first time ive seen this and wont be the last im sure unless HD starts cracking down on this behavior.
