I come here at least 4 times a week now since I moved down the street. The customer service is great and they have a large variety of items and a lot of great clearance items daily. They also have an amazing garden center. So much to choose from and everything is well taken care of and great quality plants, herbs, vegetables and trees. The only reason I will knock off a star is because sometimes I go around 7 pm And the parking lot lights don't come on ! It gets very dark and it's not in the best location. I've seen the place get robbed twice and Ive seen a cop chase someone out of the store before, too! Please fix the lighting ! I want to feel safe at my favorite store. My fiancee and I had bought a house and we ordered a refrigerator from Home Depot. It was getting delivered today and my fiancee was waiting at home all day for them to deliver it. They finally showed up and they tried to leave the refrigerator at my front door and leave because they said "the refrigerator doesn't fit through the door". They didn't even try to unbox the refrigerator to try to fit it through any of the doors. They said that it's not in their "policy" to take the doors down or unbox the refrigerator. So they just took the refrigerator back and left. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I will be buying a new refrigerator elsewhere. read more

Seriously, If I could give the Home Depot in Homewood Illinois 0 stars today I would. I made an online order and was told that it was ready. Which means it was picked and ready to come and get right??? But when I went to pick it up they said they did not have my rock salt. They were now completely out. I do not know if they bought mine themselves or sold it to someone else. Either way I am unbelievably upset. When I tried to contact a manager I was hung up on. The second time I was placed on hold a very long time. Occasionally someone would pick up, say shes still there, then hang up. I guess Menards it is from now on. Its just an extra blocks drive anyway! My suggestion to whomever runs Home Depot would be: Hire people who actually care and know how to do their job! Amy doesn't have any customer service skills whatsoever! She is very rude and seems as if she's just miserable. She had the little girl working with her laughing at whatever comment she was referring to towards me. She is the absolute worst person to be at the service desk! Terrible service from her! Approaching the one year mark and still no repair of damages caused by improper dishwasher install during my $5000 kitchen remodel. So rather than purchase the vinyl siding and installation from Home Depot Menard's will be cashing the $7000 check this week. Home Depot installed my windows in June of 2021. We went with them because the sells men guaranteed the customer service strength of Home Depot. Little that I knew, that guarantee was worth nothing. A year and a half later, I am still left with a job that is not down right. I have been on the phone with Home Depot a number of times with just a promise of a return call or an apology for the miss communication. I cannot complain enough about the entire process of the job. How do I begin. Well to start things off, the curtains I got for my window there? HORRIBLE. They're all torn up and dirty. When one of the workers were standing on a ladder to put a paint bucket on the top shelf, she slipped and landed on my child. ON MY CHILD. She acted like nothing happened. I am furious. My little boy, Jacob was asking the worker for directions for the bathroom, he got smacked and was told to buzz off. I saw everything and all the worker said "It's not my fault your child is annoying" I hate this store. And it's smells like sweaty men. I won't be visiting there ever again. Never order a countertop from the home depot!!!! I've waited 4 weeks to just get a measurement done, now an additional 4 weeks have past and still no countertop. They use a company called the countertop factory. NO ONE has taken any responsibility nor have they been apologetic. I guess I'm just one customer who shops at the home depot weekly, but I don't matter. Save yourself some time and money and buy your countertops and kitchen remodel projects get them done elsewhere. My family and myself went this store to purchase a bbq grill. As we entered the store, I first approached a female employee to assist me with a grill. In a very nice way she advised that her assignment was to promote the leaf blowers she was standing next to. She directed me to two male employees that were having a conversation with each other. I approached the two and asked for help with purchasing a grill. They stood there for a moment hoping the other would reply. Then one stated which one. I replied I have to point it out. They both remained standing in their same location and kept asking which one. I then walked away advised to never mind I will do business at another store. Then they began to move and followed me and my family out the store to my vehicle after I repeatedly informed the young men that I don't want their help. Once we entered our vehicle, they turned around and walked away. This occurred about 12:00 in the afternoon on 1 September 2018. With this type of customer service, I will never patronize this establishment in the future. read more

Service at the return and customer service desk is ridiculously slow. Employees stand behind the desk and chat with each other ignoring customers completely. When they move it's at the slowest pace I have ever seen humanly possible. read more

Very disappointed in the Homewood, IL store. Saw online they had a wood filler I was looking for. Homewood was the closest store to me that said they carried it. I called the store before leaving to make sure it was in stock. Got transferred to the paint department. Asked if they had it to verify and the guy said, "If it says we have it online we have it. " Then proceeded to hang up. So went out there which is 45 min each way. All to get there and for the two guys in paint to say we don't have it. And said the nearest one is in Oak Lawn which is another 20 min away after already driving 45 min just to get there. That's why we called to verify they had it. Asked to speak to the department manager who they said was off that day. Went up to customer service and I believe the guys name was Nord. He called Oak Lawn and they didn't have it nor did any surrounding store. So between the drive and time there was a waste of two hours of my time that could've been prevented if the guy wasn't rude and said, "If we have it online we have it" and hung up. Very rude! My time on my day off is valuable just like anyones and have a deadline to meet with this flooring. Thanks for nothing Home Depot. Thanks for wasting my time. Please get some customer service skills as well. read more

Went in today (02/25) to look at wire shelving racks, found some at the front of the store and was looking through what was there. Normally I only ever see cashiers on any visit, but there was a guy working in the area and I was pleasantly surprised until he walked over, got about a foot away, leaned closer to me and said very slowly "we are off the clock" then turned and walked away. I had not even made eye contact with this dude or indicated in anyway I needed help with anything. Talk about inappropriate - last time I'll be going to the Homewood location. read more

Please do not ever go to this home depot store the whole working staff i talked to in this store was very rude, unhelpful and the tool rental associate named Phil accused of me breaking a rental tool i rented......the assistant manager was very rude her name was Cindy, she had to come because Phil argued with me and refused to give me a refund he accused me of breaking a rental drill, after i rented a tool that he previously damaged and gave to me to use.....the store manager was not there and the sales associates thought it was a secret to give me his name and number to express my inconveniences to him.....please do not ever rent a tool from this store...or ever ask to speak to upper management ,because they was far and few to ask for, the whole store is a mess and unorganized, no one in this store know anything about drilling holes into a concrete slab....and they were rude and took my deposit and gave me a broken rental tool and blamed me for it .......the whole home depot store need to be fired, especially Cindy the assistant manager, she refused to come talk to me a 2nd time when she was paged to the customer service section, Cindy made tresa talk to me , Tresa was very polite, i blame the store manager and assistant manager for a unorganized home depot store, therefore i will never ever shop here again, and tell all my friends and relatives about this disservice i received read more

This is the worst Home Depot, don't go here. We ordered blinds for our home through this store. When ordering, the customer service was horrible and no one seemed to know what they were doing. We ordered the blinds on March 5th and have yet to receive them, let alone to have them installed. We do not receive any updates either, just an email every 5 days saying our delivery date is delayed yet again. Decided to buy carpet there. Close to my house. Found what I wanted, good stuff for master bedroom--picked out expensive carpet and padding. Guy comes out to measure, takes the measurements and doesn't say anything. Had the bedroom re-painted, including doors and all the woodwork which was natural wood previously. Everything took 2 coats and cost more than original estimate. About 1500 bucks. Home Depot calls with cost of carpeting and padding----another 1900 bucks. It's OK, I'm getting my room fixed up. Wait a few weeks for the installers. Finally they get here. They tell me that they have to remove bedroom door because carpet and padding too thick and door won't clear it when opened. They say the door--which has just been painted--has to be shaved down on the bottom. But it's a hollow core door--how can that be done?? And, the carpet can only go up to the front most sliding closet door. So, when the carpet measurer guy was here, knowing the carpet and padding I ordered, why didn't he say something?? So now I'm going to have to buy a new door and paint it. I tried calling Home Depot but they just kept putting me on hold. I hung up and called back and she said she was waiting for the manager who never came to the phone. I read some other bad reviews and I should have listened. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HOME DEPOT FOR ANY FLOORING!!!! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING THE MONEY---AFTER THAT, THEY COULD GIVE A SHIT. read more
