He said shall I go to big box. No. Go local to ACE. The hoe was competitively priced and is an excellent tool. Prices here actually pretty fair here there's even a store that connects as well though it's not affiliated with the ace hardware. He was very rude, disorganized, can not multitask, very dismissive, and a terrible attitude. As soon as I walked into the store he looked at me with an attitude and very dismissive and said "there are 2 people ahead of you" which was understood. After the 2 people gathered there simple supplies that Joe could not articulate or task at his register. I came back to the line where another person jumped up as well & tried to bully me by trying to talk down at me. Joe who is also the only worker there & dumbest made a suggestion to do rock, paper, scissors. This staff is very rude & dismissive. I know he can't multitask. Instead of apologizing for his ignorance, he states "I'm just a worker, and if you have a problem he can take it to management" I also think its tacky that there is no help or manager on site. When I noticed that the original business page for J & L Hardware had the "Yelpers report this…read morelocation has been closed" banner stretched near the top of the page, I decided to make this my 100th Review. I was pretty sure it was still open and I wanted to be sure everyone else knows that J & L Hardware is still open. As I walked toward the door, there was an "OPEN" sign lit up in one window. There was a clerk at the counter and he informed me that the man making a key for a customer was the owner. The owner's name is Juan and he was very nice. I told him about Yelp having his business listed as closed and I asked if it was okay to take some pictures. As you can see by the pictures, J & L Hardware is indeed open! I tried to check-in on the original page but since it was "closed", I had to open a new business page to check-in. I have notified Yelp of this situation and I hope they will be able to combine both pages because William H left a nice review on the original business page. As for the hardware store, aside from better lighting, some newer products, a different owner and signage - - it hasn't changed too much from the way I remembered it as Reck's Hardware in the 50-60's! (Although it was Reck's longer than that.) I have been in here on occasion over the years--I used to do more work on my house and it was convenient for me to come here if I needed something. More recently, my neighbor was able to pick up some bolts at J & L Hardware to fix my gate - - it was a lot more convenient and pleasant than going to Home Depot. My experience with the place was well, the store was small but easy to find things that are needed for supplies,( well some to most things you can find there) the owner was a generous man that grateful he greets us customers and helps them find what they need, the items are at a fair price, only two things that I don't really find fond of was that there is no public bathroom and you can only pay in card if it's over ten dollars what you are purchasing. Other then that, it's a great place, don't know why it said that it's closed.
