Just spent over an hour in the South Lincoln Menard's. Selections is OK but finding someone to help you is impossible. The "help" desk will say things like, "its over in lumber." OK. How about having someone help me find it? I spent over an hour trying to find what I needed. I'm very thankful that there is a Home Depot store about a mile away. Menards used to be a decent store. Now it seems like they are more interested in selling bad quality food and furniture. Everything is low quality. Even products like concrete are "generic", they have a few items in the yard worth buying, but that's about it. Their service is TERRIBLE. The lady that helped me was very nice, but she failed to tell me that the key copying kiosk only takes card. If you aren't going to offer this service and just throw a kiosk into the store.I'm fine with that , but at least make sure it takes the american dollar. I had to go to home depot. read more

Menards had a forced air propane heater for $39.99. I put it in my cart and was looking for another item, a small lighted mirror to use for inspection when a seal or solder just needs to be confirmed. I found the mirror and went to check out, to my surprise the heater was not available, even though it was free ship to store. The Menards website said to check another store or delete the item. I remember getting very mad when this same thing happened a little over a year ago with a tool I wanted to buy and put in my cart. Most companies that I deal with, reserve the item until you're done checking out. Menards has just lost ALL of my business, not a lot though, last year I spent $4,352.31. Hello Home Depot and Lowes, they're actually closer to where I live, but Menards is next to Walmart and Sam's. I don't mind the small inconvenience since they are all close to each other on one of our local highways. We called to rent a sanding machine for our floors and all went well until we got into the shop. Not only did they know NOTHING about their rental equipment but they were also zero help about ANY questions. In fact, when we asked questions they said that "We aren't supposed to know." AWFUL! When asking for HELP from supervisor they said that "They can't come up." Will never use again. ALSO, THEY NEVER TEST their rental equipment so BEWARE. read more

My husband went into the store today. He has asthma and as the CDC website states he should not be wearing a mask. As a 360 lb male I think it would make sense to not want to have to call an ambulance to attempt to scrap him off the floor. Had a sectional sofa delivered to us from Menards at this location. I honestly could not believe what they delivered to us! I could've gotten a better sectional sofa from a thrift store and definitely better customer service! I will be going to our brand new local Costco wholesale where I know I will be treated with the upmost respect and given the best member service from this company. I'm a Plumber in Lincoln and it's the biggest headache dealing with this store for water heater warranties. It took three plumbing members trying to figure out of to exchange a warranty water heater. If you don't want to deal with a headache warranty issues arise don't buy your plumbing here go directly to a plumber. read more

We had an extremely rude lady check us out. She left one heavy item in the cart. Before we paid, I asked her if she had rung it up too. Her comment was. "I got everything. I like Menards because of the variety of products they offer. Out of the big box stores, they seem to be best priced and the staff gives A+ customer services. I like the lay-out of the store which makes things easy to find and the grocery section allows me to do the "one-stop shop" option. Plus, a lot of their prices are comparable to Walmart. A lot of the lumber is stored outside, so it warps and splits. the products they sell are on-par with walmart. Not worth the time to go into this store - especially when Home Depot is in the same parking lot. example: I purchased 4 garage shelf units. all 4 boxes were missing parts vital to the construction of the shelves. I canibalized two boxes to make two shelves, then took back the two without the parts, and asked for replacements. They gave me two new boxes, but guess what - both those boxes were also missing parts...c'mon man! read more

we are remodeling and come here A LOT. Has everything we need so far, my only complaint is they play the music WAY TO LOUD. Almost all of the associates know their department, but be wary not all of them are qualified. Check many sites DIY HGTV to make sure I have correct information.Ex. Putting up glass tile backsplash,associate told us to use grout, sanded. Making sure we had right items before we started the tile said in small print to use unsanded grout, as sanded grout may scratch glass tile. Whew saved the day by reading first. haha read more

BEWARE. I was falsely accused of stealing a dremel bit by security. No alarms went off, I had no merch, but I was GUILTY. The security guy, a babyboomer with a really arrogant attitude stopped me at the door and just asked me where the bit was. I told him I put it on the hook after looking at it and offered to turn out my pockets, but he refused. So I asked him to look at the video and he smiled and said he would look at it later then told me not to come back. I left and called the manager who refused to take my name after asking to make a formal complaint. So I took it up to corporate and am waiting to see what happens. If I could give zero stars I would. I was humiliated in front of everyone and treated like a criminal and he wouldnt even let me prove I didn't have it. STAY AWAY. Edit: Looking into finding a lawyer to write a letter to demand the video. If Menards takes appropriate steps with this terrible employee, I will 100% give a great review for doing the right thing and taking care of bad apples. Menards is my favorite hardware/home improvement store. They usually have some of the lowest prices, and they constantly have rebates on lots of their items. Service is always very helpful, and it is not usually too hard to find someone who works there, to get the help you need. read more
