Save big money, when you shop Menards! There is actual truth to their slogan. I routinely compare prices here and the other big box stores and Menards always come out on top. My husband loves the electrical department. He's always able to find what he needs for all my projects. You'll find large appliances of all kind in store along with cabinetry. At Christmas time my kids enjoy the section they have dedicated to their many trees. The Christmas decor is vast and I love the Christmas houses! Lastly, did you know they sell food!? You'll also find furniture for both indoors and outdoors. This Merrillville location is huge and you will find everything you need to build a house and fill it. It seems like people working at home improvement stores are overworked or something because they are rude. I've been to Minaj twice within the last couple of days because of a home project and each time I go the customer service rep or the floor person. It's just rude. It's getting to the point to where you hate to go out shopping because of the demeanor of the people working at these places. read more

Menards on Mississippi street has horrible customer service. I purchased a suite for my kitchen and wasn't given the attachments for the dish washer nor was I made aware these parts you have to purchase. I called the store and spoke with the mgr. and he said those parts to the dish washer are parts that you have to purchase and that they don't come with the dishwasher. I said to him why wasn't I informed of this? He said he couldn't tell me why. The problem I have is that the delivery men brought the dishwasher upstairs and they realized none of the important components were not attached. Anyway, I would've kept the merchandise but it seemed like all the people I spoke with had this cavalier attitude. The lady with the red make up and fake tan and big black glasses really tried to push all the wrong buttons. I told her I wanted my money back the same way I gave it to them which was a debit, I'm still waiting for it to clear. But the delivery fees cleared in five minutes. And they tried to keep the delivery charges. I lwill not patronize no establishment that clearly has no respect for AA people!! Bought an item 2023 yeah it was a year ago, but for me to open the product and didnt even work. I take in to Menards all they can do is give me a service number and send me on my way. This product was $100 and some change but still it's my money lost. For Menards being a million dollar company what $100. So I call service center they first gave me a local repair for warranty. Then they stated they don't take in anymore service warranty items. Then I call service center back for them to provide more services 1hr and 30 minutes away. I drive a v8 engine im going to spend $100 getting there. I explained that to the service center, but it nota there fought it's just Menards don't find a better solution for these kind of cases. Enjoy my $100 Menards. This has put a sour patch in my mouth with your company. I'll shop at Home Depot for the future. read more

8/19/20- Needed help at the gate where you have to scan your receipt to do a curbside pickup. Employee manning the gate was so incredibly rude because she had to get up from her chair and put down her phone to help me. Then proceeded to give attitude. I've been to this location a few times. The people have always been fairly nice. Sometimes they can be less than helpful while other times they are there before you need them. It's not always consistent, but I think they are still great with customer service. They can't walk up to every single person. They would never get their jobs done. The store is always very well organized very well lit and always smells, well.... like a new house. Lol This location has always had the items I looked for in stock and if not readily available to order special order items. I wish the restocking fee was a bit cheaper. Sometimes things just don't work out and it doesn't look like you originally thought it would or it doesn't fit. Oh well. The parking lot is usually very clean, well lit, and easily accessible. The aisles are never cluttered and the lines are never long. They have an 11% rebate sale every so often to where you can get money back. It would be nice if it wasn't just back to the store, but I guess........ that's the catch. All in all I would definitely return to this location and refer others to this one as well. The only thing experience worse than when I fell in your store, is the awful experience I've had with your insurance co Gallagher Bassett. Menards employees WALKED PAST ME after I fell due to your wet floor. Customers asked if I needed help getting up. I was treated awful at your store after falling due to your negligence for having a wet floor with no warning signs (put up after I fell). Usually check Menards first for deals on items that I need....and often it is on sale. They are hit and miss when it comes to finding quality products. A lot of times it is cheap imported junk, and sometimes they have terrific sales on name brand stuff. Just have to read the fine print, look into the manufacturer, do some homework. Love that they feature american made products!!! Often they have decent stuff on clearance as well that they don't advertise.... read more

I was shopping tonight for some shelving. There were two workers standing at the counter and saw me looking and trying to decide on what to buy. Neither offered any assistance in carrying two large shelving units I chose. Both watched as I struggled to put them on my cart. I hate this place. read more

They are ok with discrimination against persons with medical conditions the that prevent them from wearing masks. I was kicked out of the store but spoke to the manager who told me, they "accommodated" by providing curb side assistance. I asked her if she was familiar with the concept of 'separate but equal,' she was not. I asked if a store was built next door with all the same products and services and that store was for minority shoppers only, would that be ok... she did not have an answer, I told her it would not, that Menards' actions were discriminatory and separate but equal or the 'accommodations' weren't sufficient. This is the same reason stores of certain sizes are required to have handicapped access and parking. Menards is ok with discriminating against medical needs persons. Won't be going there again, me or my family. Lowes or Home Depot are right down the street. read more

This isn't only for this store, as it is for Menard's as a company. I recently purchased a new peel and stick vinyl floor to replace an old one in my house. As we plan on staying in this house for awhile I didn't buy the cheaper vinyl tile, I bought one of the more expensive tiles. So I ripped out the old floor, followed the directions on how to clean and prep the subfloor and went on to install 5 boxes of this tile purchased at menard's. It has "grout" lines that you can either leave as is or actually grout over with grout. I did not want to grout however as I was told my subfloor was not thick enough and the grout lines could break. So, floor installed over a two day period. Pretty happy. As a couple of days went on, with not a lot of action happening on the floor, the grout lines started to darken. No problem, I thought. Maybe that's just what it does and eventually all the grout lines will be this darker color. It didn't. Only spots and section dis colored, making the grout lines look dirty. I didn't wash the floor for a couple days as the box says not to so tile has time to conform to the floor. After the couple of days I tried cleaning it: nothing. So I call the number on the box. Guy LITERALLY said, "What do you want me to do?" I was flabbergasted. Basically he told me then to grout it if I didn't like the staining. I told him I couldn't. He told me to go to menard's and file a complaint. Like they're going to care. So now I'm stuck with a nasty floor. I would never shop at Menard's again if there were only somewhere else to go for my home improvement needs... OH WAIT!!!! There is! See ya' Menard's. My money for remodeling my kitchen over the next month will go to Lowe's or Home Depot. read more

I hate this menards. The customer service here is horrible. I was looking for an item and went to a salesperson to ask for help finding it. As I was waiting for her to acknowledge me, she was loudly complaining about other customers with another employee who hadn't clocked in yet. When she walked with me to help me find the item, the employee who was working in that section made it seem like I was supposed to be able to find the item even though it was hidden and in a beaten up box. Like I said, I hate this menards. I only come here because it's close to my home, but the one on ridge road has far superior customer service. read more

This is by far the worst Menards I have been to. Not only did I stand in line for 20+ minutes to return something as they had several employees just hanging out NOT working, I also ended up not being able to exchange my item because the person that mixed my paint switched what I gave him when I walked away. I'm a frequent shopper of this chain, but I certainly will never come back to this store. read more

Typical Menards. Friendly staff and well organized and clean store. It's not in a central location and it's kind of hard to find.

Total incompetence defines this store well. You can spend $6000 on a complete garage kit and when they screw up delivery costing you time and money their corporate office will tell you they are very sorry but you can go pound sand as far as making it up to you. Luckily for me Lowe's is 2 miles down the road for all of my future purchases. It's kind of sad, I remember when Menards believed in customer service. read more
