Terrible customer service. Asked for help finding wood for my stairs. I was told by 2 associates to walk out to "the barn" and look. Huge area. Forklifts going back and forth. I was lost out there and there was no one out there to help me. Came back in and went to the customer service desk and was told they have it. Waited for 20 minutes and was given the wrong wood. Restated what I needed and was told they didn't carry it. Absolutel a no gives a shit attitude. I should have, and will, for now on go to Maze Lumber. I am always in this store I really mean every weekend. Well ya own a home and there is always something that needs updating. Tonite however we went to purchase some items for a job we are doing and let me say there was a young man named Nathan that was outside in the garden center and he was very kind and helpful. He helped us find what we were looking for and even helped us load it with a smile on his face. Buyer Beware. Shoddy tools can ruin your job. Whoever decides what products to stock, whether a manager or Menards headquarters, is stocking shelves with garbage that can't hold up for even a SINGLE job. Purchased this bit brand new, took it out the box, and it fell apart on its first job, ruining a 600$ table. The bearing screw simply... fell out. Buyer beware, quality of tools has fallen to an untrustworthy point simply to cut costs. There's no quality checks, there's no reassurances, and again, no reason to trust in Menards as a retailer. read more

Came here to buy a refrigerator, ordered the fridge, scheduled the delivery for the following day. My menards card was no longer active. I went to the service desk to reapply. They gave me a Business card. Told me to text a # that didn't work. I asked them if they can help it wasn't working. They handed me a I pad. Wich also wasn't working when I put in my information. I asked them to call they said they couldn't. That's how they do it now I was told. Frustrated after 45 minutes, I went to the car and used my sister's grandsons iPad. It worked. A few days later. I received 4 menards credit card in the mail. Wtf?? I called the capital one credit that is used by menards. They told me they don't know what happened. I was told that all they had to do was call to confirm. The service desk told me they couldn't do that when I asked them to do it in the first place. Terrible customer service. I love Menard but the Peru Il store is terrible. Every time I go there the price on the shelf doesn't ring up at the register. This last time my wife took a picture of the shelf with the item and they said no so when we went back to show the manager the tag was changed, showed the manager the picture and looked at us like we were in the wrong. Even with pictures that are date & time stamped? Tag same codes same item description. We decided the drive to Morris is worth it. We have never had a problem at the Morris Illinois Menards. They must care more about their customers then the Menards in Peru Illinois. read more

Alright store for getting misc. construction stuff . Have a tool kit for the auto that has metric and standard.. 1/4 inch drive and 3/8 th. deep well sockets and more . Good value on most of the stuff. Have bought some marshal town trowels from here and a few garbage cans.Also flooring materials Hardie Backer board , 3/4 CDX plywood,,,, hangers,,, and shelving frame work,, for the storage bin.Square head drill bits and boxes of screws. read more

Beware of the propane station here. It does not give a receipt and will charge you for the tank (in addition to the propane), even if you've made an exchange of an empty tank. Be sure to get a receipt inside and credit for the tank. MENARDS COULD, AT THE VERY LEAST, POST A NOTICE OUT THERE EXPLAINING THIS. We only found out because the man in front of us was on his toes and insisted on a receipt inside and saw that he'd been charged for both, telling us that. I like going to Menards over Home Depot. Menards has most stuff for the home that you will be looking for. I recently went in there to look at ceiling fans but didn't get one because I was hoping they would get more smaller ones in that had clearer light bulb holders. I did get myself some aluminum blinds for my windows in my bedroom though because I need new ones and I think they were a pretty good price. Walmart didn't have a big enough selection in blinds that would fit my windows and apparently they will cut your blinds for free when you measure and then come in to buy them. You need to know how to measure stuff correctly though just so you know. They even have some groceries now, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, bottled water, and even stuff for your pets like food and toys. Some of their prices are better than Walmart too so check it out if you need some stuff for the home or garden. read more
