I went in for Detox and it changed my life. Not because of the hospital but because of one person…read more There is a worker there named Ms. Jamie G. She literally saved my life. At first she was really hard on me, then i understood why. She wouldn't tell me what I wanted to hear, she only told me what I needed to hear. Her whole vibe was magical. I want to tell Ms Jamie thank you from myself and all the other patients she's helped. Others were friendly too but Ms. Jamie took the time and she actually cares. Her groups were amazing too.

So I recently was admitted to the 4th ward (otherwise known as the best floor, the penthouse, etc…read more It's pretty strict in its requirements to get into it, but it's worth it if you're there for things like suicide) for depression, anxiety, and a suicide watch. I'm nonbinary and all of the nurses, except a man by the name of Micheal (B? Middle aged White man from Florida. He was really invasive and asked me questions that were really uncomfortable and NOT something a nurse should ask, i.e. "Do you think the sexual abuse you experienced is the cause for you gender identity?" and things like that. I was told he was going to receive re-training, but I still want everyone to be safe and know ahead of time to be aware of him, and report ANY staff who disrespect your pronouns or identity, they'll keep them away from you for the rest of your stay! :) ), were super kind and supportive while I was there. If you're trans or nonbinary, genderfluid, or gay/bi/pan/demi/ace, or you want to go by your preferred name, they'll accept it and support you in that. It's one of the few locations in Nashville that are so queer friendly! The food was eh, but the staff and environment was so nice and really helped me ground myself. It takes medicare and united healthcare, too. If you're worried about that. It's a good place. The last review someone made on this place was in 2015, but they've changed a lot since then, especially in regards to adding the 4th ward, which has WAY more groups, and a much more peaceful environment. You become kinda like a family to the people there, even the other patients. It was.. it was what I needed. Hopefully, it's what you need too, if you decide to go.
