When I hit a snag on our trip, Saya from the sales department stepped in and solved the issue without any hesitation. She listened with compassion and worked quickly and competently to resolve the problem. The beach is gorgeous and the snorkeling is good around the rocks. Longboards has good food and drinks, but you can also easily walk to dinner over by Monkeypod and 808. We walked through Aulani and realized we weren't missing out on anything. The resort there is also beautiful and the same high quality. Overall, great vacation and we will be back!

We arrived early but we weren't able to check-in until 4pm. No biggie though because we dropped our bags off and did our grocery shopping while we waited for our room to be ready. From a hotel customer service standpoint, it was pretty good compared to Maui vacation club resorts. The pools and especially the waterslide are the highlights when it comes to amenities. The waterslide is way too much fun! Another amazing part is the lagoons that are steps away from the hotel. No waves, warm water, and super clean. Being so close to a nice beach is such a luxury! They have some cool activities during the day to win prizes, which was a cool way to break up the day. Outside of that, the hotel was just ok. We found the restaurants to be fine but not great. Mid food, hotel prices. That didn't stop us from dining there multiple times because the options in this area aren't abundant. While the hotel has a gym, there's no tennis courts or even a shuttle to take you to the nearby shopping center. If you are staying here, definitely rent a car. $45 for self parking per night though. I've been to this resort a couple of times, and the contrast from staying in a studio versus the 1 or 2-bedroom suites is night and day. The studio rooms are a bit dated and honestly just feels like a standard hotel room. The studio room has a small kitchen area but no stove and really small fridge. The bigger suites are definitely the way to go.

I usually see things that I like. However, I didn't see anything that I liked this time around. Their two main restaurants are the Ama'ama and the Makahiki. They have a luau called the Ka Wa'a. The casual food places are The 'Olelo Room, Off the Hook and Ulu Cafe.

However, the resort pricing overall food value was disappointing. At check-in guest are giving a discount card for 10% of Off at the Market and certain resort locations, which is appreciated. However, if you forget the card in your room while heading to the pool or Beach, you were simply out of luck since purchases can be charged directly to the room, it seems like the discount should automatically apply to the guest account instead of requiring a physical card. The 10% discount definitely helps because Hawaii is already expensive but the price is at the market and eateries felt excessive. For example we had 6 drinks and two orders of fish and chips at Long boards and the bill was $171. Unfortunately food felt like it mediocre pub food, which made the cost even harder to justify. Overall, we love the beauty of Ko Olina and the warmth of the people, but the resort pricing felt comparable to Disney without the food quality or value to match.

Lagoon 2 looked kind of murky and Lagoon 1 was too busy with a lot of people, which was at the Aulani resort. If you're hungry, they have a snack bar , quite pricey or walk to the market. I opted to go to the market at the resort. They had paninis, hot dogs, sandwiches, pretzels, nachos, Starbucks, ice cream, smoothies and other convenience store snacks. They do offer parking on the premises, however they do charge $40.00 a day, which i thought was pretty pricey but didn't have a choice we had rented a car. The girl at the front desk told us the area was safe and there is usually parking outside the hotel for free, we didnt pay for parking our whole stay! Our room was super clean , updated and super spacious! We got a call daily asking if we needed anything, you can get beach towels daily without issues as many as you like. The cook-to-order breakfast was simply AMAZING!! The food was great and the cooks are super nice and welcoming. Well the simple answer is because we're all looking for something new and different to do once in a while with family and friends. And that exactly why we ended up at Wai Kai. It was a chance to hang out with our kids and friends before they returned to school after the winter break. The obstacle course was a ton of fun, we took advantage of the other water activities too, and we also opted to get a couple cabanas too so we could all hang out. It was perfect for our group of 20. Some of the restaurants were closed the day we went, but the takeout food at The Lookout was delicious. We also enjoyed some cold beverages too. BTW, the Nalo Lounge is a great option for $25/person if you want to store your belonging and take a shower before heading to your ext destination. For local families, take advantage of the kamaaina rates. The family is already excited about going back when the kids are back home this summer.

My daughter wanted to come to the obstacle course with her friends. We showed up at 4pm on a Friday, they said the girls can't swim because they close at 430pm. We decided to come back at 1:30pm the next day to arrive and be told the entire place is booked for a private event. Don't waste your time. Go beach.

I recommend booking in advance as the 10am session was already full some of the days of our visit. Activities for the complimentary care include Disney movies, video games, and daily rotating crafts. Magic bands are required for kids attending Aunty's. There are a few options to rent or you can buy one (or I think bring one if you have them already). There are also paid 3-hour experiences for kids to enjoy. My son did the Surfin Party with Goofy and Max and the Galactic Games with Stitch. He liked both, but is still talking about the Galactic Games days later. This is a great perk of staying at Aulani and we'll definitely be sending our son to Aunty's next time we are at Aulani!
