I had gotten new tires/brakes put on the car at different points over the winter. Right before the 4th of July, my engine start shaking and so my boyfriend brought the car in on Tuesday, June 24th. We had had off island plans for the holiday but didn't hear anything from the guys at the garage so we pivoted plans, not a huge deal. 2 weeks went by with one or two texts that said "we'll call with an update" however, no call was received. 3 weeks in, they called and said they couldn't duplicate the problem but found and issue with a wheel bearing- we asked that they not fix the wheel bearing but just see if they could diagnose the engine problem. When nothing was still done about the engine, my boyfriend went on YouTube and sent the mechanics videos on common fixes..... It is now July 31st, we picked up the car and have been charged $800 for..... wheel bearings, spark plugs, labor and parts. Half of which we had asked them not to fix, the other half that should have been an easy enough fix that didn't take a month and a half of absolutely no communication. I will happily pay what is fair but this is so wrong on so many levels I cannot fathom spending another dime here, nor should you. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The employee was very polite, and the bathrooms were really clean as well. In the end this was a typical Mobil gas station plus some. That was one of the first things I looked for, and my question was immediately answered by the hand-taped sign on the door. On the positive side, the older gentleman behind the cash register greeted me as soon as I walked in, and was cordial during my transaction. Also, this business is in a prime location: Route 1-A, at the junction with Route 138, so it's a convenient stop when you're getting on or off the Jamestown Bridge. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives, hence my 2 star rating. The store is rather small, so they feature a somewhat limited selection of drinks and snacks. Stocking was spotty in some areas, particularly chips. Also, the parking lot is too small, even for a store this size. Finally, traffic on this road can get busy in the summer.
