I want to start this off by saying I liked Mike and thought they had taken great care of myself and…read moreother year round islanders in the past. This most recent experience has led me to believe otherwise and I will absolutely not be taking my car back or recommending ever again. I had gotten new tires/brakes put on the car at different points over the winter. Right before the 4th of July, my engine start shaking and so my boyfriend brought the car in on Tuesday, June 24th. We had had off island plans for the holiday but didn't hear anything from the guys at the garage so we pivoted plans, not a huge deal. 2 weeks went by with one or two texts that said "we'll call with an update" however, no call was received. 3 weeks in, they called and said they couldn't duplicate the problem but found and issue with a wheel bearing- we asked that they not fix the wheel bearing but just see if they could diagnose the engine problem. When nothing was still done about the engine, my boyfriend went on YouTube and sent the mechanics videos on common fixes..... It is now July 31st, we picked up the car and have been charged $800 for..... wheel bearings, spark plugs, labor and parts. Half of which we had asked them not to fix, the other half that should have been an easy enough fix that didn't take a month and a half of absolutely no communication. I will happily pay what is fair but this is so wrong on so many levels I cannot fathom spending another dime here, nor should you. If I could give 0 stars I would.

They replaced the battery in 20 mins. Everyone there from Mike to the mechanic to the person at the cash register was very friendly. Thank you.

Not sure why the first reviewer only gave them 3 stars when he had "nothing negative to say about…read morethe place" ... whatever .... A Shell gas station paired with a Seasons Corner Market convenience store is the cream of the crop when it comes to refueling your car or your body, and this one is in a prime location on that tourist mecca known as Thames Street, Newport. As is typical of Seasons Corner Markets, this location is more upscale and immaculate than a Cumberland Farms. It features six fuel pumps (including diesel) that are intelligently located amid a parking lot that is not huge, but barely adequate during the off-season. They still did a brisk business on a blustery early April day, so I can only imagine how busy they get when summer is in full swing. I've reviewed so many Seasons Corner Markets that I don't want to repeat myself, so suffice it to say, they have a great selection of drinks, snacks and to-go foods, all well-stocked and nicely presented, with two public bathrooms that are swankier than bathrooms of your typical residence. I stopped here Thursday afternoon to buy a soda and candy bar to accompany a lunch I brought from home (pot roast and mashed potatoes). I didn't want to eat my lunch cold, so I brought the container in and used their microwave to heat it up, and the dude behind the counter was pretty chill about it. Then again, I'm sure he'll see stranger things, once the silly season heats up.

The lady ringing me out asked another employee near by if they're supposed to take passports. She said I don't think so but let me go ask management. She went in back for over 5 minutes then yelled no across the store. A passport is one of the most official form of ID in America over a state issued ID, how is it they can't accept that? Not the first instance of what seems like discrimination I've experienced since visiting Newport.
