Walked into this place and walked around for ten minutes fully intending on buying a suit for a work event I need to attend. Two guys were chit chatting and didn't even acknowledge or even greet me. The signage from 28th street is pretty poor. Look for simple black letters. The door does not face 28th st. Service was horrible. I need a suite for a death in the family. After waiting my turn, I asked the woman if I could get it tailored within the week due to this being an emergency. She grunted affirmatively at me, then pointed and told me to stand "over there" and pick out a suite. She then proceeded to help another customer who seemed to have walked in several minutes after I had. After waiting several minutes I walked out. I went in looking to rent groomsmen/ usher tuxes & PURCHASE a groom tux and they just told us to look around. Every question i asked they had to "check with their manager" but never actually asked anyone. My fiancé and i were in there for 15 minutes without assistance before leaving because they were so worried about prom kids getting rentals (still important but there were workers standing doing nothing) i would not recommend this if you are seriously looking for someone to walk you through the rental process. They told us to just create an account online and find what we wanted there AFTER i told them we wanted to see & feel the fabric in person. read more

I brought my son in for a new suit for his homecoming court appearance and when I went back for the altered pants, the store had lost them. Poor communication, poor customer service while in the store, lack of professionalism by the guy checking us out as he was complaining about other shoppers to me (which is probably how the pants were lost!) Are zero stars possible? Dealing with Men's Wearhouse is impossible. I would caution anyone looking to use this for wedding orders. We placed a group custom order for myself and seven groomsmen. We had issues from the start. Every time a groomsman attempted to get fitted for custom pants and a white shirt there were issues. "We can't find your group in the system", "It just pants", "There is no group created". The custom order process is a joke. MW has a third party vendor to handle the fulfillment of the orders. This vendor couldn't get an order correct if they had to. Three sets of pants came in three different colors. They reordered on set, but refused, at the corporate level, to reorder the rest. This has left us 10 days before the wedding having have every person come back to the store and be fitted for new pants that do not match the groom's suit. I have spent four hours on the phone with MW customer service. They attempted to tell us we were stuck with the wrong custom pants that were shipped, at a cost of $120, plus we would need to purchase the new pants. Furthermore, we would need to pay for any alterations for the new pants. Four hours and two supervisors later they agreed to accept returns on the incorrect pants and free hemming of the new pants. What a deal... Men's Wearhouse never called to tell us the fabric was out of order or that the items that came in were the wrong color. There is no communication. They are understaffed, their systems are broken and there is little desire to troubleshoot issues. This is not solely a location issue. This is an issue across all MW. The only saving grace is the manager at this location, Brad, worked very hard to correct the issues, however, the issues are at different levels within this poorly run organization. The Joseph Abboud warehouse is terrible and largely to blame. read more

Terrible service. Even though we were the only ones in the store with at least 3 staff members in sight at all times, not even one of them acknowledged our presence. When we went to check out they acted like we were a terrible inconvenience. When we asked why some of the ties had food stains on them and why most were missing tags we were assured all their ties were brand new and came like that from the manufacturer. How gullible do they think people are? They were most likely the ties used for rentals hence they were being sold at a discount. No need to flat out lie to your customers like that. Definitely would not recommend. Do yourself a service and take your business elsewhere. read more

Let me start off by saying, I have maybe written 3 reviews in my lifetime and im 33. I am not one to complain, But this store needs help. As we walked in, no store members were around, nobody came up to us, nothing. Secondly, after I did find someone in the back sitting at a desk, as I walk up he says, "oh sorry I'm not available, I'm doing paperwork". So then I ask if anyone else is available and he yells out he needs help which then 3 people come out of the back room. Whatever, nothing that is going to deter me, I'm just here to get these pants I need for a wedding I'm in. Now onto the actual fitting... If you want to go to a place that has no idea what they are doing... go here! You'll look like MC Hammer, when they are done with you. This guy measured my waist and then insisted I was a size 42. Just had my own wedding and was a size 38. Tried telling him that but he insisted my butt and legs were too big so a 38 won't work. So we go with his recommendation, try on the exact pants once they are delivered to my house, and they literally fell to the ground when I let go of the waistline. Called a couple companies to get it altered and they were wondering why I got pants so big and suggested getting a size that fit better so they didn't have to work with 2x the extra fabric. Needless to say, I called MW 1-800 number and had a customer service rep do an exchange that should be overnighted to this location so I can make an even swap. Customer service rep tells me I'll hear from this location when it comes in. I give them a few extra days because this wedding isn't for a few months and still nothing. I call this location to check on my new pants to see if they are in and I give him my name, he goes, yea they are not in." I said did you check? He said, "well we don't have any packages yet today." So I explained for the second time that they were supposed to be in 4 days ago as they were overnighted. He puts me on hold and I guess went and checked. Comes back and says, "yea they aren't here, you'll have to call customer service." As I start to thank him for his time, literally mid sentence, he goes, "yep!" and hangs up. So now I'm back working with customer service today to get this exchange sorted out. Also, While we were sitting there with this guy trying to upsell me on other items even though I only needed pants for the wedding, 2 other employees were arguing about how long they had to work and if their time cards were right or not. Loud enough for the whole store to hear. After their time card argument, they were then loud as shit talking about their shitty roommates and how they are about to go on this diet. That's cool and all, but again, damn near yelling with about 10 customers in the store. Nobody gives a shit about your personal life. Maybe go help one of the 10 people looking at clothing. This place is flat out sketchy, clothes hanging and draped on everything, and their employees don't look like someone that can do any sort of tailoring. I would expect employees to be dressed nicely, maybe with the clothes they are trying to sell. Nope, pretty much a skate park look in here. Needless to say, will never go to this location again and likely won't set foot in any other mens wearhouse location. I highly encourage anyone reading this, don't do it. Take your business elsewhere. If Pac Sun or Spencers is your thing, then sure, come here. read more

This is a very awkward setting, you should expect to have to walk around and find someone if you need help rather than the other way around. The tailor knows what she is doing and is extremely professional, and once you are talking to them the employees who handle measurements do a great job. On the sales side, however, I completely agree with what the other people here have said. You can tell there are sneaky tactics in play for sales, and regardless of if this is "just how sales works" I did not feel comfortable making a purchase so left the business. read more

I went in and stood at the counter for 15 mins before being acknowledged. When I finally was, I said I needed to make a rental payment and was told "someone else will help you" and she walked away. I continued to stand there for another 10 minutes when another persons came up to me and asked if I was being helped. I informed them of what I was told prior and I was told yet again "yeah okay" as she then helped the person standing behind me. I was there for over 30 mins and had multiple people helped who came after me. I finally said I'm just trying to make a rental payment and was told "I said someone else will help you". I just left. I was very rude. The time prior when I was making a wedding party list. The guy helping me asked if my father needed a rental as well. I told them no he won't be attending and the guy gave me a dirty look and said "whatever". I won't be back there again rather drive 30 mins to Grandville. I was shopping for a suit today. I knew my size and wanted to find the correct color to purchase. I was planning on spending roughly 500-600 dollars today, but that quickly changed. As I was trying suit coats on in the back, an employee named Ben asked, "do you need any help?" I responded with do you have any holiday sales for the jackets? Ben arrogantly replied with we have deals all year long. I returned by asking if he could check for a sale on a Tommy Hilfiger jacket for me. He replied, "that will be 29,000 pennies," and then proceeded to grab the hanger from my hand and said I will hang this up for you. I was not done shopping, yet Ben was pushing me out the door. After feeling disrespected, I walked out of the store in a hurry. I had come in hoping to find a new suit that would make me feel confident, but instead, I left feeling belittled and disrespected. Well, I know that after dealing with mens wearhouse as a best man, I will not be using them for my wedding. I left feelng very uncomfortable because they rushed through my fitting process. Fortunately for me it was ok. For 4 out of the 6 guys in the bridal party, they were way off. The groom had to get his pants refitted (still not right) and his dress shirt is way to big, and coat to small. When I went in to get my suit, they super rude, and told me they didn't have it, and I had to describe the wedding and suit. They never sent the tie to another one of the groomsman, and overall, were super unprofessional. read more

Recently, I was directed to M.W. to get my tux for a wedding. I've stood up in several weddings and have worn several tuxedos from different clothing stores. This experience was, by far, the most annoying. Getting fitted was comical. The guy measured my waist OVER my jeans and sweater. When I mentioned it, he noted "the pants are adjustable and can fit three sizes." Oh, of course they are. Silly me. They did slip a jacket on me to make sure that fit o.k. and then measured my neck and sleeves. Yep, 35". No problem, right? I came in the following week to pick up the tux and do a final fit. The girl who assisted me was pleasant and helpful. And also funny. She noted my shirt fit me like a "circus tent", while the sleeves were 2 inches too short. The jacket fit in the shoulders, but the sleeves were actually two different lengths, varying by more than an inch. "Who in the world wore this before me? Quasimodo?" I quipped as the girl noted "Yeah, that's not right. This will have to be adjusted." Ya think? She sent the jacket for tailoring, but stated the shirt would need to be ordered a size up and, unfortunately, it would be even more huge on me. Apparently, this particular shirt did not come in an "athletic" or "slim" fit, but only in a "Jabba the Hut" fit. She then said she had no idea why they even sold such a shirt, which was my thought exactly. They said they would call me either later that week or the next week for the pick up. The next week, 2 days before I had to leave town for the wedding, I still had gotten no call and so I called them. Yep, tux was just in and I could come in to get it. Jacket: o.k., pants: well, they fit as you would expect crappy adjustable pants to fit, shoes: purgatorial but wearable, shirt: still with sleeves 2 inches too short!! Luckily, they had an extra shirt with 35" sleeves but as expected, it was indeed the "sumo" fit. My wife agreed the tux totally sucked, but offered comfort by reminding me that no one looks at the groomsmen at a wedding anyway. And they insist the tux be returned the day after the wedding (typically a Sunday, right?) or pay $20 per day it's late. All this for only $250... read more

My husband ordered a custom suit in the beginning of February for his son's wedding in May. Here we are two weeks before the wedding with a suit that does not fit. We have been told that this is what we have for now and will have to do, but they will order the correct pants and will have them some time after the wedding. Really? Pants are so bad that they are trying to reinforce the crotch so hopefully when he sits (if he can sit in them) it will rip the reinforcement and not the pants themselves. We will never buy from this store again and will not recommend them. Nothing but problems from the start with no solution to make things right. read more

The store is a mess with tags, plastic bags and garbage all over, the staff is inattentive and brusk when they are with you. My brother is getting married, and we are renting the mens' formalwear through Men's Wearhouse. They have a really convenient program which allows you to get measured at one location and pick up your rental at another one. Our wedding is in another state so that is what I did. I have worked in retail so I usually let things slide when it comes to store employees, but the attitude of several of the employees here is simply unacceptable. My first set of measurements was on a weekend afternoon. The individual who was working the rental area was helping someone else, so one of the sales associates took my measurements. He seemed to be in a hurry to get through it (which is fine, I understand that he was not making any commission off of my fitting and that he wanted to be available to people who may purchase something from him. I get that). However he only had me try on a jacket and shoes. Later when I spoke to family members who had been fitted at other locations I was told that they had tried on everything. I called the location where I will be picking up the tux. They said that while they could fix any problems once I go to pick up the tux, they recommended trying on everything so that there would be fewer problems in the first place (easier to get it right the first time). I went back several days later to try on more of the items. When I walked in 3 associates were standing at the front counter talking. The store was not busy at all. I explained the situation and was told 'we don't do that'. When I asked why they don't do that, I was given several explanations. One was that 'we don't carry every size here' (which is fair). Another was that 'if it doesn't fit when you pick it up they can reorder items or alter them so that it will work' (apparently getting it right the first time isn't a high priority at this location). I told them that the other store recommended trying on items, and they rolled their eyes and laughed. They continued to attempt to blow me off (despite a nearly empty store). I demanded to try on more of the items, and stated that even if they don't have the exact size or the exact item I want to at least try something similar. After more sighing and exasperated looks at each other one associate took me back and found several of the items in the sizes they had ordered for me. At some stores, if they do not have a certain size in the rental area they will pull an item off the sales racks. This did not happen here. I tried on what they had available and left. I cannot speak to the quality of their clothing, or to Men's Wearhouse as a chain. However, I can emphatically state that I will never step foot in this store again. My brother is paying Men's Wearhouse a hefty amount for these rentals, and the complete lack of interest by these employees (maybe because the order was going through a different location) was unacceptable. If you absolutely must go to a Men's Wearhouse store, make the drive to Grandville. I don't know if customer service is any better there, but it certainly couldn't be worse. read more

My husband spent almost $1000 on two suits. Of course he had to have the pants altered by their in-house seamstress. He wore one of the suits ONE time and the seam down the back of the pants, right over his butt, split where the seamstress sewed. All he did was bend over to tie his shoe, just as one would do in any suit. He took the pants back to this location(this is where he bought them from) and they said they couldn't do anything about it. Well, first, an employee stated he was the manager and there was nothing they could do. Then when my husband got in touch with the ACTUAL manager, they simply offered him $100 off another suit. Are you kidding me?!?! We are out over $500 on the suit that your seamstress did not alter correctly, you won't pay for a fix or new pants and you're only offer is $100 off a brand new suit?! We will NEVER spend our hard earned money here again. My husband has just started a new job and we literally scraped everything we had together to get him those two suits. Then, when a better-dressed individual walked in, a salesman appeared at the front of the store in less than a minute and was very friendly to him. After servicing the well-dressed man, the salesman reluctantly took my return and was very unfriendly and rude and seemed disgusted to help me. Total jerk. We came into the store needing to purchase a new suit for my hubby. We got the manager, who was very nice, very knowledgeable, and an alright decent guy,BUT he passed us on to another, he was fine,but then manager returned, then left, then returned, I was so mad, but didn't know where else to buy a suit, Where is Rogers Department store when you need them!! Manager asked what the problem was, I explained that he should have either helped us the whole entire time or given the sale to someone else, not back and forth. The tailor lady was EXTREMELY good, so we were promised the suit, $600+ in three weeks, they would call. Fast forward three weeks, four weeks, I called from their parking lot no less, no one answered, so I thought one car in front of the store they shouldn't be too busy to answer their phone, WRONG I went inside only one customer, Guy at the desk said they were so busy, right , I was sitting in their lot for awhile, no other customers walked in. I asked about the suit, he said they called on Friday, left message, we left them two cell numbers and a landline with answering machine, no calls. I said to have the manager call me the next day, he did, he apologized many times, I guess he called the WRONG number, I was ready to get my $600+ back. We arranged to come in an get a final fitting, manager apologized many more times, tailor lady again, was extremely talented, hemmed the pants and we were good to go. The manager was a nice, decent guy, with too much on his plate. The other male employees, well, take a number!! Would I go back NO, Suit was beautiful and WORTH every single penny, fits my husband like a glove. read more
