I recently visited two different Men's Wearhouse locations in the Salt Lake area while trying to get a suit for our wedding party, and both experiences were terrible. The first location was in Sandy, Utah. My group and I walked in and were literally the only customers in the store, yet not a single employee bothered to help us. The employees sat in the back on their phones and never once came out to assist. After waiting and looking around for a while, we finally just left. Thinking that maybe it was just a bad location, I went to the Murray location, which for years had provided great customer service. Unfortunately, it looks like things have changed. A woman initially pointed me in the right direction, but after that there was zero assistance. Instead of helping customers, she went to the front of the store and spent time joking around with the other employees. In the past, this location would actually help you fit the suit properly, suggest alterations, and make sure everything looked right. That's what I expected again, especially since I was planning on having alterations done. Instead, I got almost no help and ended up deciding I'll be taking my business somewhere else. Based on my experience and the recent reviews online, this seems to be the new standard of service at Men's Wearhouse--employees who don't care and management that doesn't respond. After this experience, I won't be going back. If this is the level of service they're comfortable providing now, I wouldn't be surprised if this company folds up like a lawn chair when it gets cold outside read more

We were lucky to have the help of Raegan, who assisted with finding the right suite for my husband. My favorite part was her helping me find the perfect tie to match my outfit! I agree with Cecilia's comments about customer service. I brought my son in for a suit and we were quickly helped, measured and fitted for just what he needed. The gentleman that assisted us was knowledgeable although not very friendly-he wasn't rude, just didn't seem like he wanted to be at work that day. But we were in and out quickly, with an understanding that we would need to return the following week when the suit arrived for tailoring. The order came in earlier than expected, and we were happy to be able to go in and get him tailored quickly. The suit fits perfectly and it will get plenty of use over the next few months. To make this a five-star experience, I'd just encourage the staff to be a little more personable, which would make our visit more enjoyable, rather than just a stop on our list of chores. read more

Great Customer Service. My husband and I went in to look for a new suit for his cousins wedding. We had searched many places but didn't find a good selection. We decided to try out Men's Wearhouse to which we've never been before and we are glad we did! The Manager and an associate I think named Rod? were quick to assist us and help us to find the right suit for the occasion as well at a good price. They were not only helpful but a joy to talk with. We walked out with a suit we're very happy with. My husband got many compliments on it too! We'll definitely shop there again and hopefully we'll be lucky enough to work with them again. read more

I did a fitting at the Sandy location (which was fantastic) and had my suit sent here because of convenience. So my suit came out perfect... But other groomsmen in my party came to the Murray location and it was a complete disaster. The laziness and incompetence of the employees are beyond words. - They went in for a fitting/getting measurements and they only measured the shoulders and waist (They ended up going to the Sandy location to correct this) - The order was for slim fit suits and they said that style didn't come In slim fit, so they dressed one of the groomsmen in the most loose fitting pants they had (We ordered it on their website) Weddings are stressful, avoid the added stress and go to a different location. read more

I've always had gods luck at the Men's Wearhouse. I get compliments every time I wear my custom suits.

Went to get a suit hemmed. This Asian gentlemen assisted me, but he already seemed annoyed and entitled. After putting on my suit for adjustments he began to become confrontational and told me he wouldn't take it unless it was dry cleaned first which would have been fine if he had told me before I put it on. Luckily another employee was able to help me. When I went to pick up the suit, he barely said a word and refused to make eye contact. The customer service here really needs to improve. read more

We went in looking for a specific suit for my fiancé for our wedding. The gentleman working told us that the color we were wanting was "a one time event suit and you won't ever wear it again" If we were there to give you business wouldn't you keep your opinions to yourself unless otherwise asked? We went right across the street to a competitor and the gentlemen helping us there were so kind about the color we were wanting. Suits are expensive. But when you're treated like a low class person, it's even worse. Never have I felt so offended and treated so poorly. The staff at this place is condescending and above you unless you're spending a thousand or more. I will never go here again and never recommend this place. They have a sign up that asks that you be kind, but then turn around and treat you like shït. read more

Absolutely awful customer service. My husband & I walked in, there were four employees working. The woman was on the phone so she was busy. There were two gentleman moving things around & another young gentleman folding some clothes. NOBODY said a word to us. No welcome, no hello... SILENCE. After a few minutes we decided we were going to leave & take our business elsewhere. Only then did anyone bother to ask what we were looking for. As many of the other reviewers have said, the staff is rude and condescending. If they don't *think* you're gonna spend anything, they won't bother helping you. What a difference it makes when you have the right customer service. We had a bad experience three times at this location but had to come here today since it's the closest location to our house. So we crossed our fingers it would be better this time. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Sean Sperazza who was the person that helped us have a stellar experience at the Sandy location for our wedding order. We were stoked to see he was here and heard that he got promoted. So well deserved. He helped us yet again with an incredible experience from start to finish. We were coming in today to use the shopping spree we earned from our wedding and Sean helped us make sure the coupon was still valid and showed my husband items that would be a good choice to be able to maximize the spree. He assisted my husband with measurements for shirts and suits and made sure we had all questions answered. We had a great experience today and are glad that Sean is at this location so we will be sure to come back. read more

Attitude is everything and this location has the WORST/Bad attitude. The store manager is BAD at customer service. He dose not care about you in any sense of the way. They have a few employees that are okay but he as a leader is BAD. I am taking my business to another company or another location. I like their clothes but he is BAD. Men's Wearhouse rarely answer their phone. It seems they are short staffed. We decided to use Men's Wearhouse because the groom's mother chose this store. Tragically, the groom passed away a few days before the wedding. We then needed to cancel the tuxedo order being full aware we would forfeit our deposit. However, the gentleman that finally answered the phone, was entirely rude and showed now empathy. He rudely replied that we would not get our deposit back. Several of us had to pay for our own tuxedos for this event. One tuxedo was paid in full on a debit card (no deposit). I was able to reach the manager, Dean, to check on the refund for this tuxedo. Dean did take the time to look up the details. He specifically told me that the other tuxedo rentals had been refunded, but the one on the debit card had not been refunded. Dean said the debit card had to be presented in order to get the refund. I personally drove 100 miles (round trip) to faciliatate the refund. The people at the store had no idea how to complete the refund process. I was at the store for over an hour. Finally, they called customer service only to find out the other party had received the "entire" refund by check. The employee at the store would not allow me to call customer service, so I left and called them from my car. Yes, the check had been issued to the other party, but they could NOT tell me if it had been cashed. Mind you, this is clearly against any credit / debit card Merchant Agreement I have ever read. Men's Wearhouse was "required" to perform their due diligence to refund by the method in which the rental payment was made in the first place. After five days and six representatives, I finally received the answer that the check had already been cashed. I can ony presume that Men's Wearhouse agreed to do an additional refund because they knew they failed. However, it doesn't end here. I "clearly" requested the refund be sent via USPS to a PO Box as sending via UPS or FedEx was not a secure way to send a check. There would be no on available to retreive the package and it would place the package at risk of being stolen. This fact was repeated to the representative several times and was also stated back to me. I received an email the refund had been sent via FedEx to an apartment. Why? I then had to drive several miles and spend my day at the apartment waiting for the package to ensure it did not get stolen. This may not be your typical experience, however, we did not need the rudeness, ineptness and complete disregard during this tragic event. We will not use Men's Wearhouse in the future! read more

My husband and I came to Men's Warehouse to buy a custom suit for our upcoming wedding. When we were there to spend money, our salesman was very helpful and attentive. We picked and paid for the suit and were assured that it would arrive 4 weeks later. 5 weeks later we still hadn't received a call to pick up so I called them to ask if it was ready. They told me it was back ordered and might not arrive in time for the wedding! They said the Store Manager would check the order status and call us back that afternoon. Two days later we hadn't heard from the Manager so we went into the store. Our original salesman was working so we asked him what was going on with our order. The helpful attentiveness from our first appointment was not offered when there wasn't a sale to be made. He was unconcerned that our suit hadn't arrived, was dismissive, rude and treated us like we were inconveniencing him! In the end, the suit arrived in time and was perfect (5 star product). The low rating is for the TERRIBLE customer service by our salesman. read more

We are enormously disappointed by our experience. The deliveries arrived at the last moment--in not nearly enough time to remedy the wrong color(!) & no chance to mitigate the poorly fitting extra-large tux I was assigned--a veritable clown suit(!). Even corpulent people can look good in a suit, & I worked hard to get in great shape for our wedding. Yet I looked like a fat pig next to my lovely new bride. Nearly 80% of our photos, costing thousands, are spoiled by my clown suit next to my breathtaking bride. Fitting tuxes is what Mens Wearhouse does--yet they failed miserably. These mistakes lie solely at the feet of the Murray, Utah store. We are enormously angry, dissatisfied, & disappointed. We'll never again patronize Mens Wearhouse, & we'll discourage our friends & everyone we know from doing so. read more

This review is for Sean. I came in last week and although I was greeted and "helped" I wasn't sold. The sales staff is about 50/50. Some are well kept and care about looking good others look very unkempt and seem like they could care less. I was shown very few options and it seemed the sales staff didn't really care. I came in today to grab a pair of shoes I really liked and Sean helped me pick out a few sport coats and really left a fantastic impression on me and my wife! His willingness to help and attention to the details that mattered to me was very impressive. Shortly after posting that review, Men's Wearhouse continually reached out to me and offered a sincere apology. They listened to my story, and valued my input. I believe they looked into that wrong color code issue on the vests so that it won't happen again. Service and selection was great. However tailoring time was quite a ways out. I offered the suggestion they should increase tailors, as it is a dissatisfaction to purchase garmets and wait over two weeks for tailoring to be completed. The managers reaction was to explain to me how tailors were hard to hire, rather than to listen. So, given the managements response, do not expect tailoring turnaround time to improve anytime soon. Clearly management has decided to justify the wait time rather than correct it. read more

We walked in and we walked out 1/2 hour later with a suit that has been altered to fit my husband. I am very impressed with the prices and with the customer service. I came into this location looking for a suit for my upcoming wedding. I was greeted by a sales agent and told him what I needed. He constantly told me that I needed to get a custom tailored Joseph Aboud suit that would start around $900-1000. I told him I was looking for something more economical but he kept on saying the suits off the rack are cheap in comparison to the fine wool of the tailored suits. When I told him I need something more economical for my wedding, he informed me about the wedding package but only had 3 suits to choose from. I picked one out and he measured my pants to be tailored. They didn't have shoes in my size so I was told they would order them and call me in a week when they get in. They also told me they would call me in two weeks when the suit was ready. One week later and no call. I called the following Monday and was told they had the shoes. I came in and once the sales guys found out I was picking something up, they ignored me; not the warm reception the first time. Two weeks had passed since the first time I came in and still no call or text. I called and just like the first time, the suit was ready, but of course there's no money in letting customers know their suit is ready. When I came in and asked to get my suit the sales guy acted like I was putting him out. I take the suit home and try it on, and find the pants were hemmed for a flood. I compare them to my pants I wear to church, and the Men's Wearhouse pants were 3 inches too short. Also I noticed that the right leg was hemmed 1/2 inch shorter then the left leg. I honestly don't trust the Men's Wearhouse to fix it right, and so I'm having it done myself. This was a trial run to see if I could rely on them for future purchases, and they failed miserably. read more

I have bought all my suits at Men's Wearhouse and this time needed a new suit for a wedding. I was excited to learn that they offer custom-fit suits. They offered me a choice of 4 different fabrics and did some measurements and placed the order. Within about a week I was notified that my suit came in and it fit perfectly. They also hemmed both my pants at no extra charge on the spot. The suit fits perfectly and the price was awesome and well worth it. The people were great and had a great experience and highly recommend you check out this custom-fit service which was something I did not know about until that day. read more

Never been treated so poorly. I came in, sat down at the tux rental desk and was ignored for 15 minutes. They charge you "$20 rush fee" if you don't give them 2 full weeks for your rental. Most tuxedos cost about $200 just to rent?? This place is a rip off indeed. Steer clear. read more

I went in to men's warehouse in Murray, UT to get a suit for my wedding. Katie was the employee who measured me and pretty much told me i was fat. She fitting me, and told me the colors i wanted and the style was not right and would not look good. I then got my suit when it was done and she did not end up ordering the color i wanted and did what she said would look better. The sizing was completely wrong, and she ordered me short pants, which i asked them to be longer length, and was slim fit which i asked them not to be also. Overall i had a horrible experience here and would not recommend them to anyone getting a suit for any occasion. read more

This was the worst experience. I took my son in to get fitted for a tux for a wedding I had to attend in Las Vegas. When I brought him to this location for them to measure the guy that took the measurements didn't right them down as he was measuring. I told them I was picking the rental up in Las Vegas. I went to pick up in Vegas and the tux was way too small. My father and nephew had the same issue when they went to pick their rentals up. They also got measured at the Murray location. I definitely wouldn't come here if you expect to get correct measurements. If I could rate lower I would. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I would give them 0 stars if I could. They almost ruined my wedding day. I paid close to 2000$ for a custom and it came in not only late but extremely defective with a huge tear in the back. I didn't have a suit for my engagement pictures because of this. They never called me once to tell me that a clothing item had come in so I had to check in almost daily especially since the fixed suit didn't come until 2 days before my wedding. Staff was super apathetic and disrespectful once I spent my money and they even had the audacity to call me on my honeymoon and demand that I return the torn jacket. I've been shopping with men's Warehouse since I was in highschool 10 years ago. I had a horrible experience at this location today. I have a wedding coming in September and need to get fitted for a tux and set up rentals for my groomsman. I was sat down by a nice lady and a minute later some little kid came to help me. Upon sitting down he made a loud dramatic sigh so I stated " you seem thrilled to be here" trying to joke with him and he shook his head and said what's your rental number after another long exaggerated sigh. I stood up and walked away after saying I will shop elsewhere and he just laughed it off. I manage a 4mil retail shop and if this kid worked for me he would have been canned a long time ago. I will come back because your my only option but if that kid is there I will turn around and walk away. Someone that is about to spend a lot of money with you on a tux purchase and groomsman vests should not be treated like that. Actually, noone should be treated like that. I have come to understand that customer service is a thing of the past but my experience at the location west of Fashion Place mall was exceptionally poor. I recently purchased suits for myself and my son. I found the salespeople to be arrogant and dismissive but I admit the price was right. I was told the alterations would take 10 days. Seemed long but I wasn't in a hurry. When I went to pick up the suits, neither one was done. They told me they were just finishing them up. I suspected this was a lie so I asked to see my suit. It hadn't even been started. Salesperson was genuinely embarased and promised it would be done the next day. I returned the next day and it was done, however it was wrong. They happily agreed to fix it but it would take another week. I just wanted the cuffs shortened so a week seemed excessive, but I still wasn't in a hurry. Picked it up a week later. It looked great so I wore it on a business trip to Dallas. When I landed in Dallas the seat of my pants had ripped open (I am of appropriate height and weight), so I had to find a sewing kit at the airport and hand stitch my pants in the bathroom. I returned to the store to have them repaired and asked that they unstitch my handy work and reinforce the seat of my pants. They tailor completely ignored my request and just ran stitches over mine. I will continue to buy suits at Men's Wearhouse because again, the prices are good but I won't return to this location read more

Mens wearhouse has an extremely poor selection. The only ties they were giving us were satin ties! I could DIE!! And they won't let you rent brown shoes with grey suits. I'm shocked at how out of style they are and how awful the management is. Why does the company care if I want the guys in grey suits with brown shoes? Please shed some light! read more
