Date of Visit: Friday, April 11, 2025 Location: Men's Wearhouse - Route 22 First-Time Visit: Yes This was my very first time shopping at Men's Wearhouse, and unfortunately, my experience started off poorly. When I walked into the store after work, I wasn't greeted or acknowledged at all for about 10 minutes. I stood in the middle of the first floor clearly looking lost, and although there were two white tailors (an older man and woman) present, they looked at me but offered no help or welcome. The store was not busy at the time, so this lack of engagement made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was to the point that I actually walked back out to my car, second-guessing if I should even be shopping there. However, I decided to give it another chance and went back inside. That's when a young African American man with a fro greeted me warmly and made me feel like I belonged there. I asked if there was an upstairs, and he kindly pointed me in the right direction. My whole experience changed after that. Upstairs, I was assisted by another young man named Adenin, who took his time helping me shop. He measured me, searched for my sizes, and gave me multiple options. While we couldn't find a suitable shirt, I ended up purchasing a pair of pants and an overcoat--an item I hadn't even planned on buying--because of the genuine and helpful service. I'd especially like to thank the two young African American men who assisted me, including the one who checked me out at the register. They turned what started out as a very uncomfortable shopping trip into a positive one. Their professionalism and kindness made all the difference. read more

Perhaps management has been paying attention to the reviews because I was pretty surprised upon coming here. It was a simple enough visit - a gift card for my friend who is a frequent shopper here. I haven't been here for myself in a very long time. The store looked well kept and as soon as I came in one of the salesmen approached me and struck up a pleasant conversation with me. Of course asking if I needed help and asked detailed questions to see if I could secure apparel for my friend. Of course I don't my friends size, length or style for that matter. The salesmen didn't stop there though, he then just asked me casual questions about how my Holidays were going whilst I waited in line. Even the woman who rang me up was very friendly and welcomed me back. To put an exclamation point on the service, the sales lady came from behind the counter to hand me the bag. My fitting, sizing, and tailoring experiences were fantastic for my rental. Actually, better than I expected. Unfortunately, the pickup experience was laughably terrible. To the point of souring the entire process. Arriving at the location, the upstairs rental area was packed with customers and three employees working. I signed in on their sheet, checked off that I was there just for a pickup, and proceeded to wait. I noticed the employees, quite literally, standing around and relaxing up against countertops while their customers were taking 5-10 minutes trying on clothing. I noticed people getting up to leave due to the excessive wait. I noticed that not a single employee even looked at the sign in sheet. And, I noticed that after waiting around 30 minutes, not a single customer had been processed through yet. So, I went to the 1st floor main store area to get assistance. I came across Bonnie Schah (Schuh?), who gave me nothing but sarcasm, sass, and attitude throughout the entire process. I explained to her about the excessive wait time upstairs, only to get disregarded with a response "that sounds like quite an exaggeration to me sir." When she finally made her wait upstairs, she proceeded to help other customers without even glancing at the sign-in sheet. After complaining to her, again, she rudely and wrongly said that the other people were there first and to wait my turn. When she finally got around to taking the whole 2 minutes to check me out for my rental, she left me with a blatantly sarcastic parting comment of "such a pleasure doing business with you. We'll take that sign-in sheet under advisement." There are people that are horrific at customer service, and this Bonnie Schah is definitely one of them. Fewer still are the people that deserve to be out of a job, and this Bonnie Schah is one of them as well. That means that if you have a wedding in another city across the country, you must return the tuxedo in the store across the country. They do not advise you of this late fee at the time of rental. Stay away from Men's Warehouse, specifically this one. This store has countless employee's standing around that don't greet, help or even offer any insight into their products. My brother and I came to pick out wedding outfits (Groom, Best man and Groomsmen), so you would think they would want our service as we were going to spend a significant amount of money. Nope. They let us aimlessly wander the store to figure it out ourselves. Then, once we found and agreed on outfits, an employee walks up to us to try and upsell products which was borderline insulting. Eventually, we made our way to check out...this is where the fun began. It took an hour and 45 minutes to check out. Yup, that's right! Nearly 2 hours!!!!! Why? EVERY EMPLOYEE THERE HAD NO CLUE HOW TO USE THE REGISTER. They would insert wrong items...then would check out our clothes and put it in a bag and gave it to another customer whom walked out! They were so disorganized and confused and for promotional or discount items, only the manager could ring these items up, causing many delays in the process. I had additional promotions and coupons that I mentioned to the employee who responded with "It would take me too long to apply this discount" and then refused to do it...the manager sided with the employee and stated the SAME THING! In what world is that acceptable. After nearly 2 hours, they misplaced an item, sent us the wrong sizing (the items that we needed delivered) and in one case they sent the entirely wrong item. Several groomsmen got their pants altered there and they were entirely botched and couldn't the same shirt back in stock in under a month. Horrible horrible horrible place. read more

We went two years ago and Purchased a beautiful blue dress suit, shoes, shirt, underwear, And even a boutonniere. The employees were lovely. I went yesterday's to purchase a coat and underwear, but I needed to use the bathroom and I was shocked by the filthy and smelly stalls. Urin all over the floor, and toilets, No toilet paper in the holster so when I did find it behind me it fell on the floor. UGH Gosh I just had to go and get out. I told the lady behind the register and she said they come to clean that night. Trust me that toilets never saw a sponge. She said management does not care and she also has to use it. Very sad Then I think all that pee is also walking all over the carpeting in the showrooms. Oh they also keep all the dirty mops and filthy yellow bucket in their to. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere if you're looking to rent suits for a wedding. My husband came here for a suit rental for a wedding that he was a part of ,and when he went to pick it up (just a few days before the wedding), multiple parts of the order were messed up. The shirt they gave him was comically small--like the sleeves literally only went halfway down his arm! The suit jacket's sleeves were also way too short. The tie (a clip on) was broken and unable to be clipped, so we had to go back the day before the wedding to pick up a new tie since they had to order it. When we went back and said we were there to pick that up, the one sales associate just seemed confused...and when we asked the other person if they wanted the broken tie back she basically just said "whatever." This wasn't our first experience here as we also rented suits for our nephews for our own wedding a few months ago. When we went that time, the process was incredibly slow and the workers just seemed to be overwhelmed and again, confused. Their suits ended up coming with ties instead of bow ties despite being told we could get bow ties for them with the rental. I've heard horror stories from plenty of other couples who used Men's Warehouse for their bridal party, and the other men in this particular bridal party (including the groom and bride's dad) all had some sort of issue with their rentals. For the price it costs to rent a suit through men's warehouse, you're better off going to a different store and just buying a suit or tux. Karako Suits is just a few stores over and they were much easier to deal with for my husband and his groomsmen. read more

That "ConMen's BeWareHouse" (By Karl Akopian of Garwood, NJ) My own misfortune with this Union, NJ store is beyond the bottom of any useful rating system known to us here in the USA. Just imagine how store employees lured me into believing that their "membership" and included "services" made me leave one of the two purchased suits to remain stored with them inside their "secure and safe" storage until the day I needed it to be fitted and picked up for an occasion. Have you imagined that yet? Now imagine how surprised I was when a couple of weeks before that O-day I came in on a pre-scheduled appt. only to learn that my already-purchased and paid-for product couldn't be found anywhere near that store: the store manager Will didn't even bother to actually check on a product before confirming my appt.! To his credit I must say, he did try to make it up to me by exhausting his "not-so-expanded" available inventory and then custom ordering an entirely new suit as a replacement to that lost purchase of mine. Now imagine another disappointment accrued when this "custom-ordered" disaster came in couple of weeks later featuring every accountable element of ugliness and unprofessionalism in tailoring there is (from miscut and mismatched pieces to various violations of core measurements) thus making that "garment" completely unwearable! But unfortunately for me, something else has happened afterwards that added SUBSTANTIALLY to just unprofessionalism of those "WAREHOUSE MEN". After being told to wait for a text or an email message on re-re-ordered suit NOTHING was happening for almost three (3) mos. When I finally brushed off my already violated customer dignity and called that "Soviet Union", NJ store I was informed that none of what I was promised and was waiting for during all those months had been ordered. EVER. On top of that, I was told by now new store manager William that previous store manager Will has gotten his "big promotion" and all of my info needs to be verified by William-to-Will direct conversation. In the meantime, I was turned over to "corporate office" for further clarifications which I have duly done yesterday, Thur., 3/24/2022. Now, after "all-of-the-above" adventure, corporate officer Chrystal calls me back the same very evening JUST TO TELL ME THAT I HAVE ACTUALLY PICKED UP THAT "SUITED-ME-UGINESS" some time last year and NOW THEY DON"T OWE ME ANYTHING AT ALL !!! And to put a cherry on top of this crap-cake, she said that no store-level or corporate assistance will be provided to me on this matter thus effectively considering me a liar and a cheat claiming from that "crooked-men's warehouse" company something I was not entitled to at all. Yo, men! Have any of you reading this ever experienced such a raw deal of being misrepresented, misled, lied to, robbed off, referred to as a liar and a crook, and finally shaken off like a piece of consumer trash ?! This is exactly the feeling I was left with after being so skillfully chewed-up by the upper-corporate and lower-store-level JAWS OF THIS "CONMEN"S WAREHOUSE" !!! I have one word to describe this place: a Nightmare. I will never go to another Men's Wearhouse again. I came to order my groom and groomsmen clothes. In total, I ordered 9 sets of similar items in different sizes. First day I came in, picking out my clothes wasn't a problem. It was checking out that was. There was barely anyone in the store, and I only took about 30-45 minutes picking everything out. Checking out at the register took another hour and fifteen minutes!!! It seems there is no one capable of using a register at this store. It turned out I had to put 6 of my 9 outfits on order, and only took home 3. Fine, no problem. Then, after I get home, I figured I better analyze my receipt to make sure everything registered correctly. Turns out, even after that hour and 15 minutes, they did it all wrong!!!! They rang it up the opposite; it looked like I took home 6 outfits, and only put 3 on order!!! I went back to the store the next day, and got my receipt fixed, and the guy who appeared to be a manager, fixed it for me nice and quick. This is the only non-negative part of the review Weeks later, it's time to pick up my remaining items. For some reason, and again the store is practically empty, it takes 45 minutes for them to find my stuff and properly check me out again. What a ridiculous waste of time. Again another few weeks later, I decide I need to trade in my shirt to a medium for a large. They didn't have one in stock, so again I put in an order. At the same time, I got my pants measured for hemming. Not much of a problem, that is until I return a few weeks after to get everything, which was well past the time that they said they'd have everything. My pants were done but they could not find my shirt. They mosey around pretending to search the store high and low for the shirt. Meanwhile they make me late for a dinner reservation as I'm now in the store for another 45 minutes. When I ask them what does your computer say, they again check it and say "oh, your order was canceled somehow". CANCELLED SOMEHOW!?! Again a demonstration that not only does anyone know how to use the register, they love to waste your time moseying around the store looking like idiots. And, you were just never going to tell me my shirt was never going to come? I threw a fit at this point and they offered to hem a large shirt for me instead of ordering a new one, because at this point I found that unacceptable. But, that meant I had to return again which I dreaded. All in all, I think it's clear to stay far away from this place. I even heard from my other groomsmen and father that other Men's Wearhouse store location screwed them up too. One place lost the markings when getting tailored for a pair of pants and wasted three weeks of their time, and the other upon trading in a shirt got the completely wrong shirt shipped to them. So horrible, and to think I gave this company so much of my money disgusts me. They didn't offer to help me out or credit back any of the money either. Absolutely terrible. read more

I came to this location about 2 1/2 weeks ago looking for a suit for a wedding I was going to on 10/6. Within a few minutes Brendon, a manager there, came to assist. This gentleman was very helpful and friendly and got me all set up with a great suit, shirts, ties, and shoes,etc. I only ended up getting the suit, shirt,and ties, but it was great of Brendon to show me all my options, he also offered to hem the suit pants then and there, I was short of time so I came back the next day to pick up the suit. We had a destination wedding & were assured we'd have everything in time. Well 2 days before our trip they still didn't have them in & were stuck in warehouses states away. We got them just in time so no big deal. My husband did not have enough time to try them on before we left & didn't find out until our big day that the fit was off! His pants were soooo baggy and looked like he was wearing someone else's. We spoke to the manager & they did provide some compensation but honestly nothing can make up the mistake. I look at some of our photos & cringe & it was an almost perfect wedding. THIS IS THE WORST STORE EVER EARNST (SALES REP) GAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. First off, when I made the purchase I wasn't asked to sign up for the rewards program, he signed me up without my consent! Why do i need this if i did not want to be signed up in the first place! Second, when i made the purchase i told him i did not want one of the shirts and ties. He then proceeded to give a huff and puff as if that was a inconvenience for him! Third, when got home i tried on the shirt and decided it was slightly too tight for me. i then proceeded to try to return the shirt 2 days later, he stated that there was a stain on the shirt. i stated i never even wore the shirt and there is no stain on the shirt (2 of my friends were there to verify there was no stain). i then asked for a store manager and he stated he was the store manager, i then proceeded to call customer service and they stated he was indeed not the store manager. He never offered any type of exchange or store credit even though all the tags were there and i had my original receipt. I personally work for Bloomingdales, my brother was a store manager at another retail company and i can say that he is giving your company a bad name. What a joke. So I needed a suit for my husband and a somewhat matching one for my son. We ended up driving from PA to Bridgewater, NJ in hopes of getting a decent salesman who was patient. I needed the whole deal -- 2 suits, shirt for my son, shoes, socks, tie and belt. We spent 2 hours in Bridgewater and were getting there. The suit for my son -- just jacket and pants was $100. The suit for my husband -- jacket, pants and shoes -- was $550. This is w/o belts, socks, ties and shirts. We also needed alterations on both. We were halted on shoes for my son. The salesman in Bridgewater calls Union. That salesman this past Sat. tells him he is the only one on, they have the shoes but he can't put it aside for me. I drove already -- mind you, with gas prices inflated, an hour to Bridgewater. It would be another 35 min at least to Union and it was snowing with squalls! I call and tell him I would have my elderly parents head up there to Union in the snow but he would need to put it aside. He says he can't put it aside. He tells me there are 2 floors and it's too much for him to put it aside. I tell him he'd lose the sale and he can care less. So guess what? I took the $100 outfit for my son but dumped the $550 sale for my husband as a result of this complete laziness. We went to Macy's and got everything for $300 on their sale -- Ralph Lauren suit, shirt, shoes, socks, belt and tie! SMH. read more

I've been a customer of Men's Wearhouse for many years and have recently purchased a couple of suits. I recently was in New Jersey visiting my family. I came to this store to purchase my suit for my wedding as well as my dad's suit. They were going to send my suit out here to California. I was under the impression it would be sent to the local store. Much to my surprise, my $400 suit was shipped to my house in a UPS box. The suit was stuffed in the box and was wrinkled when I pulled it out. Also, tried on the pants and are still too loose. Have to say, the woman who helped us seemed irritated that we were looking to purchase suits. We spent close to $700 and that's how we were treated and how my suit was shipped for me. Glad I have it with enough time to get the wrinkles out and have the pants fixed. Not sure I'll be going back to Men's Wearhouse, which is a shame. read more

After a monumental screw up by the Mens Warehouse in Queens, this location moved mountains to make sure the groomsman at my wedding had a tux, vest, and tie that matched everyone else in the party. They managed to make it work with 2 hours to go until the wedding and the groomsman was on time and correctly outfitted. He met a beautiful woman from North Jersey and we go up to Men's Wearhouse in Union for tux fitting. everything seemed find. We ordered our tuxes and go to Toms River to pick them up. The groom goes to try on the shirt and realizes it's the wrong style shirt from what she ordered. how can Men's Wearhouse screw something up like that which is so simple. But leave it to Men's Wearhouse to say let's come up with a solution except come that same day as the wedding to pick up a shirt but that's impossible. Men's Warehouse offered us the best deal, were terrific about responding to inquiries and took the extra step of sending out the suits to out-of-town folks free of charge. Absolutely terrible, please do not go here! I bought 2 suits and had them tailored there, one for a wedding 2 weeks later and one for my daughter's baptism a month later. The first suit for the wedding was not even measured correctly initially and the jacket was horrible upon picking it up. The best part is that the tailor tells me it does not fit correctly because I lift weights and over the course of ONE WEEK my body had grown so much that the jacket no longer fit properly (are you kidding me?). They did give me a new jacket in the proper size but this was after having to wear the initial one to the event. Now we move on to suit #2. First time I sit down the pants rip apart in the crotch area. I'm not a suit expert so I can't say if this was from an improper measurement or just poor work but either way, this says enough for me about the expertise of their tailors. To prove the even further idiocy of this place, I call the store simply due to me being angry and not really looking for a solution at this point because I have the event in an hour. The lady tells me to bring the suit in. I reply that I live a half hour away and have the event in an hour to which she again tells me "well bring it in as soon as you can so we can get it ready for you." read more

So my husband and I go to Men's Wearhouse, as recommended by Davids Bridal. We walk in and the guy says whats up guys, and turns around. We stand at the door for another minute or so and he turns back around and then ask if we need help. So we tell him we need suits/tuxedos for our wedding in October. He proceeds to ask if we are renting or buying which we are unsure of as of right now, we just want to get an idea. So he sends us upstairs after being no help. We get upstairs and they werent that helpful either except they did greet us faster than the guy downstairs. So we look around and show them the color swatches that the wedding will be and they show us 1 vest, and 1 tie that would match our theme. But they were ugly. No options were given to us if we wanted to order anything. The best recommendation they had for us was to go online. They didnt even ask my husband if he wanted to try anything on which was weird. Overall it was poor customer service, no help for alternatives, nothing. Oh and they told us to go to a mom and pop store! Who just pushes business out the door like that? read more

The fittings went fine but when we went to pick up the tuxes, most did not fit. Some were missing pieces and other had completely wrong sizes. Took my entire side of the bridal party to Men's Wearhouse to get fitted for tux's. This was a group of 4 men. During out initial fitting, our whole experience felt like it was an afterthought to the employee who was helping us, he was running between 2 different parties. After the initial fitting, we came back in for a 2nd fitting and waited for 2 hours and were rushed out the door because it was close to closing time. Since its prom season and there are more people coming through the door, you would think that they would staff accordingly. Since we were rushed out the door and they didn't properly mark our pants and jackets, no ones tux fit properly when we tried them on back at home after the 1st round of alterations. We had to run back to the store and have them alter our pants and jackets the night before the wedding; one of which had to be redone 3 times because they kept marking the pants incorrectly going between too short and too long. I had to go back on my wedding day to get my pants altered because they closed by the time I was able to get back there. Anyone who you talk to in the store, outside of the tailors, it feels like you are bother them and they are "too important," to help you. I would never go back to this location. Stay away from this Men's Warehouse!! I went to the Men's Wearhouse in Union, walked into the store and no one greeted us, not even a good morning. We asked about renting a suit for my 2 little boys, 7 years old and 3 years old, for my sister's wedding. The boys were measured by Will. Only my 3 year old had the time to try on the suit for the bridal party as I had to take the other one to an event. My sister took care of the suit fitting, gave the deposit and came home with the receipt. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I was floored to find out that the suit that I was renting for my 3 year old was close to $350. I called Will back & asked why the other groomsmen were paying $187 and I'm paying this. He stated that the system automatically charged us the extended return time. I was not informed of this or asked if I wanted an extended return policy. I returned back to the store, cancelled my order and decided to go somewhere else. If I could give 0 stars, I would. After spending almost 3 hours at MW taking care of tuxedos for our wedding (including a custom tux for the groom), we left thinking everything was good to go. NOPE! We had worked with a variety of people, constantly being handed off to the next person which was so ridiculous. Fast forward to when our groomsmen go to order their tuxes--I received a frantic call from one. MW put the wrong date in for our wedding. Then when I asked about the custom tux and provide my fiance's phone number, there is nothing to be found in their system. They had his phone number wrong and his tuxedo had been there for quite some time, but he had no clue because they called the wrong phone number he never received a phone call from them.
