We really enjoyed our Buddha Bowl as well as the soup of the day. It was served with AMAZING warmed bread slices. The prices were a tad higher than expected. We spent about 30 euro between two people (without getting any wine or additional sides - just a bottle of water.) It was worth the money to introduce a little flavor variety in a town otherwise offering a lot of classic Italian fare. The portion sizes were also very generous. I will be going back on the next trip to Lucca! Thanks to our waitress for being so helpful and patient with our language barrier and explaining the menu to us in English.

Lucca is known for its food, and this little eatery doesn't disappoint. The wait staff is friendly and helpful, and the spot itself is cute and tastefully decorated. There is both indoor and outdoor seating looking out on the bustling piazza. I got spinach quiche served with couscous which were delicious. There is a display where all the foods they've made that day are on display so you can choose what looks best. The staff is good about explaining each dish and helping you make your choice. Will definitely be coming back on my next stop in Lucca.

This is not a flashy and expensive meal that you will find inside of Lucca, this is simple and authentic. The tortelli is so good you will find yourself dreaming of the ragu and moist tortelli that are made daily in her kitchen. The traditional Tuscan bean soup that has been passed down in the Pucci family for over 200 years is one of the most flavorful and hearty soups you will ever be blessed to indulge in while her thinly sliced roast beef with garlic, olive oil and basil literally melts upon touching your tongue. If you are fortunate to be there after one of the locals has been out boar hunting, be sure to taste her wild boar over polenta! As for the wine, stay simple and order the wonderful house red that the Pucci's bottle and serve in classic liter crafts. There is plenty of free parking and of course there is wonderful coffee and desserts to finish the meal ... but do not leave without taking a peak inside of Maria Pia's kitchen. You will be moved when you see how clean and organized everything is kept, not to mention that the whole kitchen is run by a 70+ year old woman.

However, after choosing our selections we were very pleased with a thick, hearty, and filling farro soup - one of the best we tried in Lucca. However, even better was a delicious and seemingly unconventional pasta with cheese and mint (ever so slight mint taste) and mild yellow tomato sauce - a winning combination. If it is not a permanent menu item, it should be! The bruschetta gets a top grade as well. Brava! We can't forget to complement our serving staff who were so friendly as we tried to practice our Italian. Fortunately they also spoke English and made sure everything was going well at our table. Turns out that this year, Lucca was hosting the Italy Comics Convention during that same wknd. Soo...the city was packed. We found this restaurant randomly and skimmed the menu before deciding to find a seat and eat. What drew us here was when my husband found out they served ribolitta! I am NOT a fan of ribolitta, but apparently - my husband is! Ribolitta is famous Tuscan soup, a hearty potage made with bread and vegetables. Not many restaurants serve it for some reason, prolly because it takes awhile to eat and not many tourists actually want to order it. Ribolitta, 7 e - i have no comments re: this dish, but my husband kept claiming "wow, this is actually really good, i'm so glad I ordered it!" Tortellini Lucchesi al Ragu, 8 e - meat sauce with your tortellini, can't go wrong with that right? Pizza all'arrabiata with mozzarella, 5 e - you can't go wrong w/ the basic tomato based pizza! My husband was thrilled. He got his ribolitta and we didn't even have to wait long to get our meal, especially w/ the herds of people arriving in Lucca for Comicon. Outdoor seating available!

It was an EXPERIENCE…read more In the most serendipitous way, we managed to snag a table at Osteria da Pasquale during one of their wine-pairing events, and it turned into one of the most memorable nights of our trip. When I called to make a reservation, I spoke directly with Pasquale, the owner, who kindly explained that they weren't taking regular reservations that evening because they were hosting a wine pairing with a fixed menu. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind or expected, but we decided to go for it... and holy moly, am I glad we did. We've done plenty of fixed-menu wine pairings before, and honestly, the success rate is about 50%, so we went in a bit skeptical. This, however, was truly one of a kind. Incredible food, even better wine, and, best of all, an unforgettable ambiance fueled by Pasquale himself and the incredible group of guests who happened to be there that night. Pasquale is wildly passionate about good food and great wine, and watching him in his element was a joy in itself. We tasted local wines ranging from wonderfully affordable bottles to others costing hundreds of euros, and every pour came with a story, a laugh, or a spark of excitement. And when I say wine pairing, I don't mean the kind where you get two polite drops and that's it The wine flowed freely, just as fast as the laughter from everyone lucky enough to attend. The energy was chaotic in the best possible way. As two tourists, it felt like we had stumbled into a friend's dinner party. At one point, it genuinely seemed like everyone already knew each other and somehow, by the end of the night, so did we. We loved every second of it. All of this to say: if you ever see an event or wine pairing at this restaurant in the beautiful city of Lucca, don't hesitate to book it. Thank you, Pasquale, for an unforgettable experience.
