My wife is a teacher and we bought a brand-new home in 2023, excited to start our story here. We were able to get insurance through Golden Apple at the very last minute which was a relief at the time, but it took them forever to even process our quote. Still, we eventually got coverage and thought all was good. Our home is fully equipped with the required fire safety measures: fire sprinklers, alarms, and more than 150 feet of defensible space in every direction. So imagine our surprise when Golden Apple sent us a letter saying we would be dropped. No explanation, no chance to ask questions, just a letter. I called Ron immediately. At first, he was apologetic and said he was reaching out to other agencies, and we were given until mid-December before being dropped. That was over a month ago. Since then, there's been zero follow-up. My wife kept urging me to call back, so I did today. This time Ron basically shrugged me off, saying he had already called around and "nobody could service Paradise." The kicker? He never bothered to communicate that to us. Who knows how many others he left in the dark. At this point, even if Golden Apple could cover us, I wouldn't want to work with people who clearly don't care about their customers' wellbeing. I then called Nevin & Witt. Their agent listened, understood, and promised to follow up quickly. She even said they are having success writing policies in Paradise. Night and day difference go check them out if you want someone who actually gives a damn.

New rules delay starting services due to point of contact being "unavailable". Invoices not paid on time causing family to pay out of pocket with no avenue for reimbursement. No portal is an issue. Spending reports have errors which are not fully corrected. Payroll and mileage have had errors or been missed entirely. Invoices paid to one vendor deducted from a different vendor's authorized funds. MAINS'L is not the worst fms but they definitely are not top tier any longer.

I ended up paying out of pocket and leaving money we were approved for on the table. They are behind the times compared to other FMS'; no portal to track real time spending plan, no portal for vendors to submit invoices, no credit card for items that can't be purchased the typical way, late and inaccurate spending reports, and poor customer service. How does one of the largest and best FMS' go from fantastic to horrible in no time?!?!?! Be forewarned...stay away!!!!!
