This is our son's first year at Mercy Culture Preparatory, and we genuinely couldn't be happier with our experience. The growth we've seen in him academically has been incredible in such a short time. He's more confident, more engaged, and clearly developing at a higher level than before. What stands out the most is his teacher. The level of care, attention, and genuine love she shows for each student is something we've honestly never experienced before. You can tell she's not just doing a job she's truly passionate about helping these kids learn and grow. We also absolutely love the Christ-centered environment. Our son comes home talking about Bible verses, singing the songs they learn, and sharing what he's being taught. It's been amazing to see his faith grow alongside his education. That combination means everything to us as parents. We're beyond grateful to have found this school. It's made a real impact on our son, and our family and we're excited for what's ahead. read more

This is our review of the school concerning any vulnerable children or children with disabilities attending Mercy Culture. Far stray and cry from Godly intervention, love, grace, mercy, or protection in our estimation. Our family has five children enrolled at Mercy Culture Preparatory, and this year alone we are paying over $50,000 in tuition. We chose this school because we believed we were choosing a truly Christ-centered environment where Jesus, honor, character, and protection of children came first. Our experience has been heartbreaking. Our son has a speech impediment, which is a recognized disability, and he already struggled with self-confidence because of it. Throughout the school year, a student at Mercy Culture Preparatory repeatedly harassed, antagonized, and bullied our son. This student's family is very involved at the school, and one of the teachers' boyfriends lives with that student's family. That relationship made the school's lack of action feel even more concerning to us as parents. After this repeated harassment and bullying, our son's emotional health declined significantly, including depression and suicidal thoughts. In our view, this was not normal childhood conflict. This was repeated emotional and psychological bullying of a vulnerable child. The school knew. I personally informed the superintendent twice. Multiple adults were aware of incidents involving this student and our son. Yet from what we experienced, this student received no consequences. There was no detention, no in-school suspension, no out-of-school suspension, no serious protection plan, and no intervention that actually stopped the pattern. The other child's parent later told me the school had not even contacted them about the prior incidents. That is very hard to reconcile with a school that repeatedly talks about "honor." Our children had never received a detention, in-school suspension, or out-of-school suspension before this. Quite the opposite, they have been praised for their attitudes, behavior, and performance at the school. Then, after our son finally reached a breaking point and handled the situation the wrong way, the school immediately disciplined him. We do not excuse the physical altercation, and we told our son that in this particular situation, it probably should not have reached that point. But we also believe this situation should never have been allowed to reach that point in the first place. We were first told he would receive a two-day out-of-school suspension. The very next day, the school changed it to three days. Then, during the suspension, he was not allowed to receive his schoolwork to complete from home. For a child already emotionally impacted by repeated bullying, it felt like the school failed to protect him before the incident, then punished him academically afterward. What hurt even more was that when we pushed for accountability, we felt questioned as a family. In one conversation, the pastor connected to the school made a comment that came across to us as suggesting we may not "belong" there. For a family with five children enrolled, asking for basic protection for a vulnerable child, that was deeply painful. Mercy Culture Preparatory presents itself as deeply godly and Christ-centered. But in our family's experience, when our vulnerable child needed protection, documentation, parent notification, accountability, and compassion, the response did not match the values being promoted. A Christian school is not proven by how often it says "Jesus" or "honor." It is proven by how it treats the child who is hurting, isolated, vulnerable, and inconvenient to protect. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution families who are looking for a safe, truly Christ-centered school to look very carefully before trusting Mercy Culture Preparatory especially if their child has a disability, social vulnerability, or needs adults to step in with courage and consistency. read more

Mercy Culture Preparatory has been such a gift to our family. Last year was a challenging one for our son, and we were prayerfully searching for an environment where he could truly grow--academically, emotionally, and spiritually. This year, he has not only caught up, but has far exceeded our expectations. He is thriving. The difference we've seen in his confidence, engagement, and love for learning has been incredible. We are so grateful for the nurturing environment, the intentional discipleship, and the strong Christian foundation that MC Prep provides. The staff genuinely cares about the whole child, and it shows in how they support, challenge, and encourage students every day. Exercise caution, wisdom and discernment, when considering enrollment at this school. The leadership team has close relational ties to church: the head of school is married to the church's legal representative, and the elementary principal also serves as a pastor there. Because of these overlapping relationships and the relationships with each other, accountability is minimal, and leadership operates without external oversight. The culture among adults is highly politicized, and unfortunately, those dynamics often spill over to the student body. Families who do not actively seek favor or align with certain personalities may find themselves marginalized, and children can feel the effects of that exclusion as well. There is a pattern of spiritualizing exclusivity and reinforcing divisions under the guise of intentionally building relationships, which undermines community. The result is an environment where relational politics overshadow the well-being of the children. We wish the school well and love Mercy Culture Church, but also hope that no parent finds themself in the environment we did in what should be fun early academic years of childhood. After we requested to withdraw the day before August 1st, they still demanded our family pay % the tuition despite us unenrolling our children to protect them from the culture and our attempt to rectify our disagreement in a healthy way. I urge every leader and staff member of this school to confront the Word of God with honesty. Scripture is clear: the Lord condemns partiality and favoritism, and Jesus Himself elevated children as the very center of His kingdom. Yet the culture being fostered here stands in stark contrast to His example if you are not "in the circle." Ask yourselves plainly: are you walking in the humility of true servant leadership, or are you exalting yourselves within a worldly hierarchy that Christ came to overturn? The measure of this school is not in appearances or the prayers you've copied from someone else, but in whether your heart posture reflects the heart of Jesus -- who welcomed the least, corrected the proud, and warned those who cause little ones to stumble. Again, the major issue with the school is the politically charged atmosphere which extends to the students, no accountability for leadership, and exclusive social dynamics. The people in charge all think too highly of themselves and therefore aren't willing to build healthy community for the elementary students to spiritually grow in. This school does not operate as a ministry. The leadership is spiritually and professionally immature and we hope they receive the oversight necessary to truly embody the vision as set forth by God in his Word for Heaven on earth and by leadership at Mercy Culture Church. It's simple, value the people around you as if Christ lives in them, and value the children as the most honorable guest at the wedding. To be frank, I believe this school would benefit from male leadership. Royalty isn't derived from sitting in an ivory tower--it's from an intentional commitment to position yourself last and serve those around you. read more

I graduated from here. As far as Christian education is concerned, I believe that this school is just as good as you can get. Every teacher here is a mentor for you, willing to be there as a spiritual guide and helper for you to point you back to Christ. I feel like I did a lot of soul searching there. As far as highschool normalities go, we had the normal groups of kids and the normal sports, and we had quite a great football team there and they are still really good. It's a great school to send your children to, and I would highly recommend Sue Tidwell (The Superintendent) to be the one you speak to in order to find out more on the school! She is a very down-to-earth lady and will love your kids as much as you do! read more
